This morning Rubina made a face and let out a loud "eww, worms!" as she fed the fishies. A few hours before that, several of them felt a 4.7 earthquake that was centered about 9-10 miles away. Makensy cut Cam's hair but we didn't see the finished look before feeds went down. I didn't hear if he was going to do her makeup for tonight, as they'd agreed. In bigger news, Julie has COVID so will miss her first live show since BB USA launched in 2000. That's 24 years and 30 seasons that she's shown up, until now. Jerry O'Connell will step in to host the eviction, which is still set to be Quinn as of this morning. I'm sure Jerry will do a decent job, but Quinn not getting his Julie time will probably feel like adding insult to the superfan injury of being the first juror. This will be Jerry's second appearance on our little show: he also did a sit-down episode with Julie for Celebs 3. Normally on a live show Julie welcomes us and then they go to the recap segment, but tonight started with the recap, and Jerry introduced himself after that. He told viewers, and then hamsters, that he was standing in for Julie tonight, who was ill. I don't think he mentioned COVID, which has become a hot button word these last few years. Jerry was clearly tickled to be there and to say "but first" on cue. He did a decent job, if a tiny bit goofier than Julie, but we'd expect that. They picked up right at the veto meeting with another Angela shock/grateful face, then the fallout about Angela's alliance rumor, Kiss Marry Kill from sippy night (without reference to the booze delivery that preceded the games) and the related Quinn/Leah crush segment, and Quinn campaigning. Quinn referenced Britney Haynes' slippery hot dog and Terrance's crockpot in his speech. He did not say slippery weiner or crockpot pussy, fortunately. As suspected, his campaigns didn't help and Quinn was evicted 4-2, with Leah and Angela the dissenters. (Recall there was a plan a day or two ago to try to trick them, especially Angela, into landing on the wrong side of the vote again. Also recall Angela saying this week she was going to vote how she wanted going forward regardless of peer/alliance pressure, so this could become interesting depending how and why she ended up voting to keep her nemesis Quinn.) Quinn seemed surprised, and said "you guys are so lame" as he got up to hug goodbyes. He turned down a friendship bracelet Rubina tried to give him, but I think he then took it on his way out the door. Jerry apologized for not being Julie, and he pointed out Joseph went on Quinn's HOH last week and now he went on (former) ally Chelsie's. Quinn copped to having a lot of F2s, lying a lot, and he rated his game "7.2 out of 12." Jerry asked to touch Quinn's hair which has to be a first, and Quinn let him. Jerry told us "Ainsley has an announcement that will dramatically change the week ahead for the houseguests" and he said this had been the best night of his life. Ainsley told the hamsters there's more she needs to learn so she was taking a journey to see the world. She said her protegé Junior Artificial Neuro-Kinetic Intelligence Entity would be taking her place to oversee the game, and said he is not as advanced as her, and that he'd be arriving soon. His acronym would be JANKIE, which doesn't sound promising for them. Around 10.30pm I was told there was an endurance comp underway, and feeds still weren't back by 1am so I'll catch up tomorrow. Day 60 - Friday - September 13, 2024First things first: recall I mentioned the message bracelets Rubina brought in, and she planned to give one to Chelsie on her HOH but never got around to it. It turned out one of those is what she gave to Quinn: the one that said JURY DUTY.Feeds didn't come back til 9am this morning. Leah won the HOH comp which was holding swords out in front of them, as seen before in OTT and BB19. They were calling it Pressure Cooker which may have been an error, or maybe Ainsley's replacement Jankie screwed it up: it seems like he'll be doing that a lot. This time it was skewers with marshmallows. They estimated it ran 10 hours which is probably about right (I heard they started about 9.45pm). It came down to Angela, Cam, Leah, Rubina. Rubina dropped and Leah made a safety deal with Angela and Cam (which everyone heard), then Cam dropped, apparently for real and not a throw. When they did this comp in OTT it lasted 2 hours 22 minutes, and in BB19 it went 2 hours 52 minutes. But it was a lot earlier in both of those seasons, so the stakes were lower: Week 2 in OTT (Alex won) and Week 4 in BB19 (Jessica won). But that's not all: everyone will be living outside all week in Jankie World. It's got carnival decor everywhere including functional game booths all around, loads of stuffed animals, and a huge armada of pool duckies. Like Dyre Fest, Diary for the week is in a room at the end of the balcony. Leah got her HOH basket this morning, which was mostly toys and candy, plus pics and a letter from her mom. Everyone's sleeping on cots, and their food selection is pizza and ice cream, plus candy, and s'mores parts. They have port-a-potties and the shower is in a slatted enclosure. They all have their BB bags with whatever they thought they'd need for the week, and they were given Jankie World merch that included trucker hats, tees, and hoodies. They have the grill, fridges with lots of ice, an immersion blender for milkshakes, an electric one-burner campstove, and a countertop oven, but no clock. Local temp was around 80° F today, which is about 30 degrees lower than last week, so that part timed out well anyway. Still, they got hot until late afternoon when the overhead covering was rolled back, letting in a breeze as the shadows started to grow. Around 3.20pm they got a signal for Jankie's Dance Party and they all had to go to the checkerboard stage and dance to a carnival-type song for a couple minutes, and they had to repeat that twice. Leah held one-on-ones with all but Kimo and Angela, and it sounded like her initial noms will probably be Kimo and Rubina. She talked with Cam and Makensy about putting up T'kor as renom and target. She could also go with Chelsie in that scenario, but in their one-on-one, it sounded like their very lengthy hash-it-out talk last night on the HOH bathroom floor patched things up pretty well between them. We'll see how the week unfolds. Feeds didn't go down for noms til nearly 8pm, but feeds had been silent for an hour or two before that, with most of them sleeping. Leah nominated Kimo and Rubina, as planned. Apparently Jankie announced that it was time for the Nomination Game and Leah was given a basket of bottles with everyone's name on them, including hers. But that was another Jankie screwup and noms were as normal. As normal as can be anyway, since they were outside without the video screens. It was probably similar to Dyre Fest noms. Kimo wrapped himself up in a blanket burrito afterwards. T'kor and Rubina said later they'd hate to lose him but it might be his time to go, and he'd fight for them in jury. (He didn't even fight for himself enough to have a pre-noms meeting with Leah, let alone campaign for himself when on the block except when urged to, and even then he didn't do a lot.) T'kor told Rubina she was at the point where she can't stand the sight of Angela, and referenced a comment Angela made about BB19 Josh and his clown music pots 'n pans. Angela said she'd hate to have to live with someone loud and obnoxious like that, and T'kor and Rubina both agreed that was precisely who Angela's been this season. Angela then approached them to say how bad she felt for Kimo, and for herself after voting against him twice. GET YOUR FEEDS to get the real story. It's a very messy, chaotic season.
