He'd waited for quite awhile in the skybridge lounge with America and/or Cory babysitting, and they were finally joined by Cirie and Matt and assured he'd be staying. (They lied.) Morning brought the usual psst-pssting along with chit-chat and packing, including Jag carefully packing up his drumsticks. He gave a pair of unworn spares to both Izzy and Felicia. Jared joined him to say he'd just checked with Felicia, who he described as his person he trusts wholeheartedly, who'd said "it's going Jag." Jag said that was his understanding too. Between HOH lockdown and dress rehearsal, America told Cirie she thought they should let Jag know he'll be leaving rather than blindsiding him. Cirie said she agreed, and America wondered if they should tell him as a group? Cirie said "a couple of us should tell him."Julie stepped out among the regular citizens again tonight, and showed the recaps for yet another vote flip plan that ultimately failed to materialize. We saw the Invincibility comp, which took place in the same room as the veto comp, with the same Indiana Jones decor. We saw several of them go in to be told they hadn't made the cut, and we learned Cirie, Cory, Jag, Matt had been the top four vote-getters who competed. (But you knew that already if you've been keeping up here.) The comp was the one with a wobbly ramp they had to maneuver to roll a ball down its length and into a cup at the end. Times were Cirie 12 minutes, Cory 53 seconds, Jag 1 minute 15 seconds, and Matt won with 45 seconds. And they showed Matt telling Cirie he'd won and how the power worked. They held the vote as normal and it was unanimous again, with Jag receiving 10 votes to evict versus zero for Blue. Jag looked crushed, but I suspect someone had let him know it was coming. And at any rate, he finally seemed to have caught on earlier since he'd seemed dejected all day on the feeds we saw. He gave his hugs all around and was just about to step through the door when the Comicverse signal went off and the pneumatic tube went thunk with a message. They regathered in the living room and Red read the card that said the Invincibility Power had been invoked, the eviction was cancelled and the week reset, and everyone would play for the next HOH. Jag was thrilled of course, as was Blue, and that was the end of the show. They'll play the new HOH comp this evening and we'll start all over again, this time with Cirie being able to tell Jag she and Matt saved him, and Cameron realizing he held onto a button in the cold for almost 14 hours for nothing. Feeds came back at 10.19pm and per chatter, they'd come in from the HOH comp around 8.30pm - thanks BB. Jared won the HOH in the last round against Izzy. The comp had a speed dating theme and it was knockout style. Cory said he was disappointed it wasn't more of a mental comp. Jag was happy, and joked with Cirie's group "you know what I'm curious about is the two of them [Red and Cameron] on the block, what are they gonna pitch to me?" and he busted up laughing. Cirie told Matt the only people who knew he had and used the power were the two of them and Jag. Recall Cirie had previously told Jared that Matt had it. (We later learned Matt had told Jag after the save.) And Cirie said don't tell anyone else it was him, Izzy, and that she'd only heard Cory say maybe it was Matt. Jared said he didn't care about the room (hello Blue?), that he just wanted family pics and letter. Then he said he could wait on the letter, he really just wanted the music and pics of his dog. Cameron was very low key, and I didn't see much of Red at all. Cory and Izzy did some whispering, and most of them were just chit-chatting and restless, waiting for the WHO WANTS TO SEE hollering. The holler came at 11.40pm and they all trooped upstairs. Jared was ecstatic to see his dog and was happy with all his goodies. His booze was champagne and his music was Blxst. He looked to see who his letter was from before reading it, saying if it was from his pops he'd read it alone, but it was from one of his brothers and he read it aloud. Jared made a few jokes about Blue moving upstairs and everyone should knock before coming in, adding "just kidding, my mom's watching." Cirie was absolutely beaming throughout, and she and Jared exchanged whispered I love yous as they hugged when everyone left. Blue stayed behind. Blue went downstairs to exchange info with Jag, including telling him about last night's shenanigans and America being mad at Cirie's group for keeping Jag in the dark about the vote, and she said she thought they wanted to frame America for Jag's eviction. Matt went back upstairs and told Jared he'd had and used the power, and how it worked, and he said nobody else knew except Jag, who he'd told after the save, and he explained he felt he couldn't say anything about it before in case word got around. Jared said he understood, adding if Matt had never told him and he found out from someone else he'd be pissed off. Jared told Matt he was thinking about Cameron and Red noms, with Cameron the target. He said he'd be fine with Red staying but his proximity with Cameron was a problem. Cory and America cuddled and rehashed in the doggie bed, and Cory said they should be good for another three weeks minimum. Blue returned to HOH and Jared popped his champagne. Meetings should happen tomorrow - the Jared/Cirie one should be interesting. SUBSCRIBE to my Patreon to get these daily recaps in your email box! Day 31 - Friday - September 1, 2023Once again, a lot happened so buckle up for a series of tidbits. Overnight, America pretty much worked out the alliances hierarchy with Jag, Blue, Cory in various combinations. Unreliables tentatively reformed as a real more than a joke alliance, as did Family Style but without Cameron. Jag warned Matt to be careful who he tells things to, "even Cirie," which was interesting since he knew Cirie was in on saving him (and likely made the decision for Matt to do it). Cory told Jag it was more his fault than America's that Jag hadn't been told about the vote the previous night when he'd tried so hard to hold his vote meeting. Blue slept in HOH but if they did anything tallyable, it wasn't on feeds. This morning America told Cory she was perturbed because Felicia had apparently been angry at them staying up too late, so BB wouldn't turn off the lights. Also, America and Cory agreed to lightly bash each other in their talks with others, both for appearances and info-gathering. Apparently lifelong pals/Beardmancers/Chillers Cameron or Red started bailing on the other in various conversations - maybe they both did. Maybe they too agreed to do so, I don't know.NOMINATIONS TODAY went up on their monitor early so pre-nom meetings kicked off earlier than usual too. Cirie asked if Jared's letter was signed Mill(?) or Millie(?) and he said it was, adding that he'd thought it would be from his girlfriend since she was "first on his list." Cirie said maybe BB was trying to help him out because of the Blue situation, and she asked "would you want a letter from her right now?" Jared said he'd pretty much decided on Cameron/Red noms, with Cameron the target, but he'd tell both they were pawns. His Reason for putting them up together would be that he couldn't risk one taking the other down with veto otherwise. Cirie said she'd thrown the HOH comp, and Jared told her Matt had told him he had the power. They knew she, Matt, Jag competed for it but they couldn't figure out the fourth. They figured Red, Cameron, or Felicia were most likely, and Cory's name didn't come up. Cirie was aware America was now actively working against her and she shared that. I believe Matt told her about that, but I'm not sure. Maybe she just divined it, which wouldn't surprise me. Jared met with Red and said "I gotta be honest with you, I'm really leaning towards putting Cameron up" and he said he didn't think Red and Cameron's friendship hinged on what goes on in there, so he hoped that part would turn out okay if they're on the block together with Red as a pawn. And he said Cirie said Red's solid and trustworthy, adding that he listens to her in there because "I'm a momma's boy, and I think of her like a mom." Popcorn alert. Red was practically grateful and said he'd look at this week as a gift (his birthday's Tuesday), and they did a little fist bump/handshake leading into a hug. At Jag's meeting, a lot of words words words were spoken by both as you'd expect, and Jared said Matt had told him he was the one with the power who'd saved Jag. At Cameron's meeting, he asked Jared what can he do, how can he help, and he asked that he please not be a pawn again. Jared let him believe his noms would be Red and America or Red and Bowie, and Cameron was fine with that, adding that he'd prefer America over Bowie as the pawn. Jared told America that Cameron had thrown her under the bus and America replied "shut up, shut up!" And he told her Cameron had said she's hurting Cory by friendzoning him. She said she's not a loose cannon and she has Cory to calm her down when she gets riled. Feeds cut a lot whenever the Cameron/America situation came up. He's been unkind to and about her, and a lot of that revolved around inappropriate things he's said and done. Matt pitched an alliance to Cirie and Jag, and they choreographed a three-way handshake with dip. Jag was actively working against Cirie with America and Blue, and Cirie was aware of that, so go figure. They didn't formalize a name but rejected suggestions included Reilly's Promise, Promise Keepers, Three Amigos, Three Peat, and Three Stooges. Jared met with Matt and Blue, and wondered if he should keep Cameron off the block to backdoor him, and because Cameron asked for a week off, but Blue said Cameron wouldn't be likely to win veto anyway. And Blue didn't want America to hit the block, and Jared agreed America was good for Blue's game. Cirie gave Izzy another talking-to/social coaching session, and Izzy and Bowie made up their latest squabble. Jared's final meeting was with Cory, where Cory dissed America's game (as previously agreed with America), and Jared dissed Blue's (who knows what's up there), and both dissed Bowie's. Jared nominated Cameron and Red as planned. Jared sat down with Cirie and Felicia afterwards to retell his meetings, and then with Bowie. Those two looked like strangers chatting at a bus stop. (Their conversation was about as deep and sincere, except for Bowie saying she was a step closer to her goal of getting to jury.) Cirie found Red crying and gave him a hug, telling him everyone loves him and he'll be fine. Red said he was missing his family and "this house makes you into a baby." Cameron commiserated with Cory, and then met with Jared, who shmoozed him hard and stressed the house target was Red, and Cameron was just a pawn. Again. And Jared said Cirie was annoyed at him putting them both up. Cameron said he'd offered last night to help Jared make a big move if he wanted, but he didn't think it would be like this. Jared pushed their friendship and said few others were aware of how close they were, and Cameron seemed to go along with that. Cameron said it's a high probability he or Red will win the veto and America would go up, and he said if Jared wins it, it'll be up to him what to do. Jared said if that happens, "it's whatever you want to do at that point." Time will tell if Jared ends up regretting saying that. Cirie and Felicia started prepping dinner of chicken and veggies, and Blue made a pasta salad. She asked Red if he likes it and he said he doesn't eat anything with the word salad in it, and he made a separate noodle dish. Rather than relaxing and embracing his revival, Jag continued interrogating people about the 10-0 vote, and he made noises about holding a house meeting about it. Cirie told Jared she could tell from Jag's face that America was pinning everything on her, and she said "Red's beard is no longer gonna be red, he's gonna run the color out of his beard, he's gonna be named White after this." Cameron grasped for silver linings, harping about being able to continue his streak. What streak they asked? He said being able to play in last night's HOH comp didn't break his comp streak like he'd thought it would, and tomorrow's veto will be the 11th comp in a row he's played, but he added "the majority of the time because someone wanted me to play in it." Cirie met with Mecole about the latest round of events. Mecole said she thought Blue had won and used the power, and said she was going around doing a First Lady of HOH tour. Bowie got Cameron to agree to work out with her, with the goal of making him sore for tomorrow. Red pouted to Felicia about his lifelong bad birthdays, and he might use veto on Cameron if he wins it, and if it's still him versus Cameron after veto, just send him on home. Dinner was served and enjoyed family style again. Jag and Cameron got to talking about fate versus free will, which led to Jag talking about religion, which led to flying cars and time travel and some species of super shrimp. By this time Cameron had wandered off and Jag was talking at Red, who decided to try making peanut butter fudge for the first time. The topic went back to religion, and finally Jag's favorite topic of the day, let's talk about that vote. He talked and talked so many words, integrity being one of them, and finally Red said his fudge was done and it worked. Jag kept saying he wouldn't say anymore but then he spent a half hour saying Cirie/Jared/Izzy were working together, but he wouldn't say their names. Red enjoyed his fudge and showed it off to Izzy when she wandered by. Remembering her social game lessons, she said flatly she'd just brushed her teeth, the fudge looked amazing, good consistency, and maybe she'd have some tomorrow, and she wandered off again. Red finally got a word in, and told Jag it'll be easier for him to keep promises he'd made if Cameron wins veto "and it sucks." Jag asked what promises and Red said "if I win veto, I'm not able to take myself off." They finally parted and Red told his sad promise tale to Bowie, and Jag retold -I don't even know how much of his monologue- to Mecole, whose face had the blankest look possible. Elsewhere, Cameron also talked integrity and scenarios to Jared, and he hard-pitched Izzy for backdoor option. (AS IF!) Cory and America snuggled in the skybridge lounge/former Blue & Jared sex nest and scoffed about Jag having talked to Red "for two hours" just throwing out buzzwords. Felicia asked a large group earlier what time they were going to bed and they all said "10!" She threw up her hands and hollered "PRAISE YE THE LORD HERCULES HERCULES HERCULES YES SIR!!" Ten o'clock came and went, and eleven o'clock came and went, and most of them were still yacking, including Felicia. Her room finally settled down around midnight. Jag retold his evening to Cirie who mm-hmm'd like it was her job, clearly bored to tears. Izzy started up to Jared that Cirie was teasing her "24/7 in front of everyone" but Cirie joined and put out that fire. Together they decided they'd meet with the seven, and with the six, to discuss the vote sometime before Thursday. Jared told Matt about Cameron's pitch to backdoor Izzy so that'll get around (eek), and Matt volunteered to go up as renom pawn if necessary. Jared said "not so fast."
