She doesn't have the info or skills to do herself any favors but at least she tried. One of the last things I heard last night was Mallory asking Barrett to talk to Angela today for her. She might still hope for that, but at least she put in a little work on her own behalf today. She also continued planning to take Dee's family pics with her if she's evicted, and she expanded that to taking Devens' as well. Drew and Taylor both did some campaigning this morning as well. Barrett stayed on the job, telling Mallory about Red Corner, and the $5k deal Dee struck with Yash for why he was never an option for the block this week. And he again told both Mallory and Melody that Drew's still probably leaving if he's up against Taylor. Devens called Dee and Angela "the Haley whisperers" which is a pretty great term. Barrett told us he loves the "icons" but they've had it too easy, and he doesn't want to just play for them. (Reminder, it was Barrett who ratted out the rookies' revolution meeting to Dee the day after it happened.)A lot of alums are in town for the festivities. Some will be part of the show but some had to pay their own way. They'll make up the bulk of the audience but it will also have a few paid participants. They spent a full hour of look-back, with continual teases of a brand new shocking twist, before getting to current business. Cookout, Janelle, Dan each joined Julie on stage for poll results, which didn't include all categories they polled. Julie accepted two plaques from Guinness Book of Records rep, there were a lot of flashes of the alums in the audience, and finally they got to recapping the week and the Block Buster. Taylor, Drew, Mallory ran from the convoluted clue screen to the clips from the past screens, and back to their podiums, and Drew won his second Block Buster. Mallory and Taylor both gave boilerplate speeches, and Mallory was evicted 6-2, with Melody and Barrett the dissenters voting to keep her. Mallory did her series of hugs and came out smiling, without the speeches and vitriol she'd been threatening/promising, and she was surprised to see all the familiar faces in the crowd. Julie told us Sunday's 9pm show will travel to medieval times in the year 1000 for something that will challenge them "socially and competitively," adding there will be no HOH, no veto comp, no Block Buster, and "someone's game will come to an end before the next live eviction." Then she said feeds will be down for the next three days until after Sunday's show. She added "settle down Beavis" after the reaction to the no feeds announcement, and she left us with a quick clip of Keanu, Britney, Tiffany, Cody C stepping out to a stone balcony like royals at the jousting tourney. But first, feeds came back anyway. Drew was moping, Barrett was crying, Melody was crying, Taylor was glaring, and there was a lot of general awkwardness and silence at first. Drew tried to give Melody a hug but she pushed him off and said "don't touch me, why can't you admit you lied to me all game?" He said he had, and then he went around to do retell rounds. Dee and Devens gradually went back to subtle gaming. Melody sobbed and ranted into her phone and kicked herself a lot before saying "the pity party's over and I need to win this competition more than I've ever needed to win anything in my life. Anyways I'm doing fine." LaLa and Haley worked together(!) to clear out the dishes and deal with Team Ants who'd made a celebratory comeback for the 1000th episode celebrations. Then we saw them gathered at the times table waiting to be shipped off to 1000 and the end of one of them apparently, and then the adoptable anipals returned to play all weekend. If you missed what came before, click 'previous Hamsterwatch episode' up top and/or use my season directory.
