Day 49 - Monday - Labor Day - September 2, 2024
When last night's slumber party wound down, Leah announced - in babytalk, at 1.20am - that she'd do one-on-one meetings about the veto with anyone who wanted to. Several did, but nothing definitive was said about whether she'll use it or not. She did imply to Quinn that she thought [Diary? Angela?] wanted her to use it, and he said if she doesn't and Angela goes off on her, he'd step in and say "incorrect, we're not doing that right now." This morning, Leah told Rubina and T'kor that she's in a tricky spot because her decision could give someone safety but put someone else in jeopardy. And she talked about playing for herself versus playing for others, before dipping back into babytalk as others rotated through the room. Feeds then went to adoptable anipals around 10.30am, only 15 minutes after wakeup music ended, with several not yet out of bed, let alone dressed and primped for the veto meeting.
Feeds came back two hours later. Leah used her veto on Angela, and Quinn put up Joseph in her place. Leah told Angela, Chelsie, Kimo, T'kor, Rubina she had to stay true to her values, and she got props from them for that. Angela later asked if that was the plan all along and Leah told her she thought Quinn's plan was to keep noms the same, (implying Angela would go). Leah said she understood the consequences but tried to weigh which option was better for her, and she decided that was keeping Angela. For stats fans, this marks the seventh of seven weeks (and eighth of eight times) the veto's been used this season. The records for that are ten of twelve for BB14, and eleven of eleven for Canada 11.
Angela and Joseph had another short rehash about their pivotal convo, and he said he doesn't hold his nomination against her or Leah. He added the irony wasn't lost on him that he now has to take his own advice that he'd given her, to do what he can but also just enjoy the time he has there. Angela said "you're a good man Joseph" and they hugged with I love yous. Joseph told Kimo he doesn't want to be on the block against him, and they too exchanged hugs and I love yous. T'kor and Rubina had another stealth whispery convo about trying to rev up a girls' alliance and were joined by Makensy, who hasn't yet learned to whisper during gametalks. She said she thought she'd be the renom and she's had to "fight tooth and nail" every week to stay there. (Every week? Really?) Rubina gave a major eyeroll in her direction when she left. Joseph asked Leah to let him know if he'll be getting booted and she said "of course, I've never let anyone leave this house in the dark." He said he's not mad at her, and she teared up telling him that didn't change the fact that she still feels bad about it. Joseph said Quinn just over-promises things.
Quinn told Rubina he doesn't want her or Joseph to go. (I have to point out if Kimo goes, he'd be the seventh of seven evictees who voted no for the Ainsley move-in vote.) Leah finally met with Quinn. He told her he knew it was coming (but he'd told others he was blindsided.) He flopped back on the bed saying he felt like a piñata because everyone keeps beating him with sticks. She explained her reasoning again, and did her thing including putting on his glasses, and it didn't take long for him to get back to his "googleah" eyes again. Joseph joined, and Quinn said it should be okay, they'll be able to push for Kimo to go, including saying T'kor would keep Joseph over either Kimo or Rubina. (What?!) At one point Quinn joked about Leah having "these two nerds doing my bidding." (It's funny because it's true.) Joseph adopted Angela's patented campaign style and choked up as he said "you know how much this means to me, please." He got assurances from both Quinn and Leah that he'll be okay, and then he quick-checked their reactions.
Feeds went to adoptable anipals from 5pm to 7.30pm for their Labor Day party. They got food (Have-nots too), music, booze, games including Jenga, and new pool floaties. Kimo stuffed an extra cupcake before his and Makensy's Have-not torture resumed. Everyone was outside, enjoying the hot tub and evening air, with a lot of dating and flirty talk along with movie chat. Several seemed tipsy. Makensy said she knew Brooklyn had a secret and she tried to find out what it was, talking to Chelsie, who didn't spill the Mrs America secret Brooklyn had confessed to her. Not that it had any reason to be a secret, but I respect Chelsie for still keeping that confidence. Makensy, Leah, various others started squeaky, squealing babytalk voices at one point and Chelsie spoke for most of us when she said "shut up, all of you!" Cam and Rubina talked about how they hadn't talked game much, and both said they wouldn't target each other and that they were honest. It felt like a partnership was trying to be pitched, but neither knew how to go about it. A delivery of s'mores supplies arrived but they decided to wait until Have-nots could join in to make those.
Cam continued making rounds, including asking Quinn about alliances. Quinn went back to his six-person plan of them, Chelsie, Makensy, Leah, T'kor. He apparently has no idea that T'kor's completely over him, which should be obvious since he's got her two besties on the block. Joseph also made rounds, including Rubina, T'kor, Angela separately, offering future safety if they vote to keep him, and he told each how much it hurt to end up on the block at the hands of his best friend in there. T'kor and Rubina discussed that later and agreed it would feel awful. Joseph sat alone in the backyard and repeated to himself/us "yes, I am alone.. augghh fuck man, this sucks. I got screwed over by the two people I trust most and they can't even get their fuckin story straight." Cam and Makensy did some cuddling and petting, with Chelsie present. She became annoyed and walked away, later muttering to herself that he should "pet his own damn head." She went to the hammock for a short and grouchy Chelsie's Chisme, falling back to his dirty laundry in their room. Makensy came along and tried to lay down and cuddle but Chelsie said "what are you doing?" Joseph and Leah sat down for another rehash round, and she said again it hadn't been a plan between her and Quinn, that he didn't want her to use her veto at all, and she didn't think Joseph would be the renom. Joseph repeated how Quinn had guaranteed him safety when he won HOH.
They were told the yard would be closing early in the morning again, so we're back to close quarters and cabin fever in the days ahead.

Day 50 - Tuesday - September 3, 2024
The morning after was mostly quiet. Angela told Leah she thinks Joseph and Quinn are working together, but said she'll vote however Leah wants. All but Quinn played word games in the skybridge/fishies lounge, in rotating personnel combinations, while Quinn took a bath. He donned hat and sunglasses and checked the look in the mirror first (and some still try to say he's not a performative kind of hamster). He loosed a bath bomb that turned the tub into Yellowstone's Grand Prismatic Spring. He ended up setting the hat aside, and the water ended up looking sludge green.
Word games raged on for hours, until 2pm. Various of them eventually fell asleep or wandered off, leaving Leah and Angela to talk talk talk about their lives, and then talk some more. T'kor and Chelsie finally sat down together to discuss the vote, and working together towards a final six of all women. Chelsie said she'd like to keep Kimo this week and thought it's "easily do-able" adding that Leah's closer to Quinn than Joseph but still went against Quinn's wishes for her veto. Chelsie also told T'kor about Quinn's plans for seven- and five-person alliances. Joseph joined and that discussion went back on hold, for now. Later Joseph talked with Quinn to ask if Kimo knows he's the target and Quinn said he thinks so. Joseph brought up Cam and Makensy petting each other, and Quinn said he'll tell the evict-Tucker voters to keep Joseph. They patted themselves on the backs some more and Joseph said "this is some Memphis/Dan shit." Joseph then campaigned to Cam, and everything went back to casual group chats.
Afternoon brought more Leah stories, a group zombie skit, a group zombie dance, and a group study session to go over days and events. Eight of them did that together(!), everyone except Joseph and Quinn. T'kor told Rubina about her talk with Chelsie, saying Rubina will probably survive the vote, and they talked about the women's F6 idea. They said they'd try to arrange a "self-care" night for all the ladies to formalize it. That would come pretty close on the heels of Girls Night, but these guys might not notice or think it was anything other than it appears. Maybe they'd even clean the kitchen again. Joseph campaigned to Makensy, putting on his earnest face, and saying his priorities in the game have changed and he now wants to work only with honest people, adding that he knows she's a "God-fearing woman." Makensy later whispered about that to Chelsie, and Chelsie soft-pitched the women's F6 idea to her, saying if Rubina stays they'd still have six women versus three men. (The issue of Makensy not being able to stand Angela could also be an obstacle for this new plan, but at least it's finally on the table.) Angela described "the perfect girl" for Cam, Joseph, Quinn which brought laughs and screams from everyone.
Chelsie told Kimo and Rubina that she'll vote out Joseph against either of them, adding she didn't know yet what she'd do if the two of them remain on the block, but she hopes that won't be the case. They brought the pool floaties and Jenga inside before the yard was closed, and Cam and Joseph played Jenga during dinner prep, with Angela doing commentary on their game, loudly. It's a plastic Jenga this time, but many of us had fond memories of Dr Will setting fire to the standard wooden Jenga back on BB7 - see Links of the Day below. Kimo met with Quinn, who acted like he was on Kimo's side and didn't want him to go (but he's told most of them he wants Kimo gone). Chelsie gave us her predictions: she said she thinks Kimo will win AI Arena, Rubina will go home, and Cam will win HOH. She sounded pleased with the idea of Rubina leaving, as Tucker's widow, but she also said she "wouldn't be mad" if the women go to final six. Rubina soft-pitched that F6 idea to Angela without spelling it out, and she said if she stays and wins HOH she'll put up men, other than Kimo.
All ten played charades in the living room before reverting back to this morning's word games, including Joseph who's often said he thinks the group games are stupid. There was some talk about firming up various alliances later. I'll catch that up tomorrow, if it happens.

Day 51 - Wednesday - September 4, 2024
Quinn tried to have one of his alliance-formation meetings in HOH last night but everyone except Angela showed up so it turned into more group socializing. Makensy petted Cam's head and Leah's back at the same time and even the feedmasters had something to say about that, cutting to the judgy side-eye cat. Chelsie was irritated and left, T'kor followed, and Chelsie said she doesn't want to see that so she'll just leave the room when they start up. And she said "it's weird, he's mean to me all day and then does that." This morning kicked off with Cam and Makensy playing footsie in the bathroom, with Quinn watching. Makensy had a long talk at T'kor, with a lot of game platitudes about "best for your game" etc. T'kor told her Joseph had mentioned her [Makensy's] name as a renom option this week, and they brought up the women's F6 plan, and said she thought Kimo would be better to have in jury than Joseph. She said she was proud of Makensy's game growth and sticking power, and would vote for her at the end if she's a finalist. Afterwards, Makensy told us she's got the whole house wrapped around her finger. Yep, she did.
There was a lot A LOT of talk about the vote and the next HOH, but most of them were talking for talk's sake and changing it up depending who they were talking to. If I had to guess, based on no hard facts whatsoever, I'd say Joseph goes home against either Kimo or Rubina, and Kimo goes against Rubina. I can't back that up with anything though, and it's likely wrong.
Meanwhile I'm taking the night off. I need to built a bot, or something.

I hope she either comes off the block or somehow wins the AI Arena? I know. But I want her to stay as long as possible, and continue sitting in her angry chair, and continue messing up everyone else's games.
UPDATE: She lives to fight another week, and possibly land on the block again. But she's made jury and few saw that coming back at the beginning. Will she turn on Leah sooner or later as she did Tucker? Stay tuned.

The star of the show came down hard on Angela but to his credit, he realized it and not only apologized to her, but said he learned he needs to do some self-work about his 'mean streak.' To top it off, his siblings and friends are running the best hamster-adjacent Twitter accounts we've seen in years.
UPDATE: He'd hoped to make it to finals without having hit the block but now he just hopes to make it to next week.

He started to fall back into his gloomy Eeyore persona and it's understandable: he lost Tucker, he went on slop and landed on the block. He won the first AI Arena from that position so maybe he'll do that again? Meanwhile Quinn advised him to buck up and socialize, and he did. Baby steps.

Her joy at winning the veto was well-earned and it was fun to see how happy it made her. But it put her between a rock and a hard place, her F2 Angela being the rock and Quinn being the hard place. The jokes write themselves.
UPDATE: She went with the rock, as I figured she would. Many think production made her do it but why would she send her only ally home and be left alone and/or be at the bottom of 17 Quinn alliances, which comes out to the same thing. That said, I'm sure production's happy Angela's staying.

I don't like him shouting all the time, or his immature behavior, or his know-it-all attitude when he clearly doesn't. I don't understand him wanting to put together 17 new alliances at this stage, especially because he goes out of his way to blow up alliances, whether his own or others. (He wants Leah to feel she's part of one or more so she won't use her veto, but he started that stuff before she won it.)
UPDATE: The trouble with having 17 alliances is you run out of options and end up nominating allies. He's now done it to four of them: Cedric and Tucker the first time, and Kimo and Joseph this week.

The pattern is often for the showmance widow to win HOH after their partner's eviction, but she didn't. She did start to come out of her grieving period a bit which wasn't easy since she's also on the block, so that's good, and she's handled her nomination extremely well. Let's hope she can rally and do some damage in there, and make Tucker proud.

She feels bad that Tucker left on her HOH but I'm not convinced she would have kept him if it was a tie vote, even though she's said she would have. She and Rubina talked about wanting to form a girls' alliance but T'kor gets around to things so leisurely, it might never happen. Still, she's had some nice moments of just enjoying herself lately and that's been good to see. And then a bird pooped on her, not long after she said she's afraid of birds.

6th evicted - Day 45
He demolished two AI Arenas and was the first pre-juror to win three vetos in a row(!), along with an HOH. All that plus his boasting made him most everyone's target but he seemed to relish that spot (along with puzzles and biscuits). He was a welcome change from the usual 'comp beast' type, often showing compassion and empathy, and shedding tears over missing his min pin Ziggi. He fell in love with Rubina, and was often loud, sometimes obnoxious, frequently funny, and he usually owned whatever room he was in, including Diary. His gameplay was reckless and unpredictable, nearly always leaving chaos in his wake. He was that extremely rare breed of hamster: a hard gamer, often a good one (sometimes horrible), while being entertaining. He will be missed.

5th evicted - Day 38
She brought us a number of classic shockfaces for various blindsides, and she said 'this doesn't quite feel like Big Brother' when she was on the block and on her way out. I beg to differ. She confessed her sports dancer secret to Quinn (who told several), her Mrs America secret to Chelsie (who didn't), but I don't think she told anyone she's friends with Aaryn. Thanks to Cam, she provided a fun Michael Jackson side game out here for her last couple weeks. She never tired of saying she wanted a married mother to win this season, so I guess we can assume she'll be rooting from home for Angela.

Former Marine Boise, ID (orig Running Springs, CA)
4th evicted - Day 31
He prepped by watching analysis clips and didn't see any full seasons so he had an unusual balance of BB lore and knowledge. He was a good sport about being sidelined Week 1 and he used that time well, becoming well-liked by all of them. 'Young Cedric' was an ongoing, evolving skit and his own elaborate life stories usually had them and us in stitches. Between expecting volunteers for the block and painting himself into a no-win corner between his various alliances, his HOH was a disaster. Then he volunteered to be a pawn the following week and learned the meaning of 'pawns go home.' He was funny, genuine, wise and mature beyond his years, and he'll be missed.

He adopted Matt and lost him fast, then he won a veto, and the rest of the time he said he wanted to quit. He rallied a bit at the end when he teamed up with Cedric and Tucker, adding Cam when he walked in on them, but that got blown up immediately. He mostly sat by himself and shouted out his family, or he complained to others about missing them, so they sent him back to them.

She's a legit chef/caterer and ran that into the ground, along with sprinkling edible glitter on everyone's food whether they wanted it or not. Tucker's rants about her were an early highlight, and she crumbled after Angela mocked her walk and called her a twit. Props for winning the first veto (rare for a woman), but she wasn't cut out for this setting. Most of that was simply being a bad roommate: she made (and wasted) food they didn't want, dabbed non-consensual essential oil on her roomies' pillows, propped filthy feet on food surfaces, and she never tired of telling everyone what a special and unique person she was.

THE REAL SHOW IS THE FEEDS

BB1 thru BB25 plus Celebs and OTT, and loads of other shows and movies, plus originals

GAME TWISTS
-First and second move-in groups of eight voted against letting Ainsley join as 17th player, and each group played comps based on their votes.
-Losers Cedric, Chelsie were Week 1 mascots: couldn't compete for HOH or veto, couldn't vote, could be nominated.
-Makensy won America's Veto: once in first four weeks, she can remove someone from the block and viewers will instant-vote the replacement. She used it Week 3 after she went up as veto renom.
-Quinn won Deep Fake HOH: once in first four weeks, the HOH's AI avatar will announce noms Quinn secretly picked, and he can spread misinfo and rumors via that fake avatar. He used it Week 4 to take over Angela's 2nd HOH (everyone knew about it).
-Weeks 1 thru 6: HOH picked three nominees, and veto renom if applicable. The three competed live in AI Arena before the vote, and the winner came off the block.
-Week 6: Viewer vote to pick someone for AI Instigator (Tucker), who could spread rumors via others' AI avatars. A second vote determined how much cash he won ($20k).
