Daily Feeds Recaps

Day 88 - Saturday - October 28, 2023

The now-usual pattern kicked in early with a 7am wakeup, and then they waited for the veto comp. They stayed mostly silent when all together, and they griped about each other when split into their groups of two and three. Cirie and Felicia griped about the other three, with extra griping from Felicia about Bowie, mostly about how she'd attached herself to Jag and Matt. What she didn't know was Bowie and Jag have been attaching themselves even more to each other. Matt didn't know about that either, or that they seemed ready and eager to cut him at F3. Meanwhile Bowie, Matt, Jag griped about the other two, with extra griping from Bowie about Felicia. Much of the fandom has been getting irate about all of it, depending which side they're rooting for or against, and taking most of it personally as if it was directed to them. I'm over here in my corner watching it like a comedy, as a lot of the jabs from both sides have been good ones (though not all, and it can get tedious). I have no stake in it and no shot at $750,000, or even a weekly stipend, so why not just let it all limp to its long-awaited end without getting perturbed about it.

Feeds were down from a bit past 11am until 1.30pm for the veto comp, which Jag won, again. The comp was played with all of them at the same time and involved sliding or scooting a boat or sled or raft through water, maybe down a track? They could opt to go head or feet first, and vary their speed to make the goal something-or-other climb higher, and that something would fall if they messed up. Confusing sounding, I know. Body weight seemed to play a role, and Matt said he went too fast which caused waves which made it harder. Apparently Cirie did well, but not well enough to win it. She said she would have done better if she'd started out with whatever technique she adopted later. They all said it was fun, whatever it was.

Felicia whispered to Matt who said he didn't know if Jag would use it or not (lie: he won't use it), and she said Matt was good with her if she wins the next HOH. Felicia later approached Jag who said he didn't know yet what he'd do (lie) and he had to talk to everyone. Matt then promised Cirie "no matter what, you're good" (lie) and added "oh I promise you, you can breathe." Cirie asked if Jag felt the same way and Matt said "we all do." They were told the yard would be closed at some point until Tuesday, and they were either told or guessed that would be for something involving Halloween. Meanwhile it was a nice day and the hot tub was hot, so all but Bowie changed and got into it for awhile, acting like everything was fine and they hadn't turned on each other.

Feeds were down again from just before 3pm until 4.30pm and they'd done a special/luxury comp. Matt ended up with $5k from that, which sounded like they had to put some trick or treat candy into each other's bins or baskets. Jag said he'd put all his in Matt's since Matt didn't take the $5k from him way back in the Buddy Games veto. Bowie was a little perturbed to hear that since she'd put some in Jag's, and even though she said she wasn't upset after hearing Jag's reasoning, she said "I thought we were a three." Steaks went on the grill for dinner and Matt again told Cirie during prep for that "I know you're good." Maybe he believed that but it seems unlikely to me. We'll see. Bowie told Jag that Cory said Cirie had won The Mole (no: Traitors) so they had to get her out because she was too good at these games. Felicia visited Jag and Matt to check in and Jag again said he didn't know yet, but if he didn't use the veto, he'd want Cirie to go. When she left, Jag launched into one of his patented monologues to list off to Matt all the reasons Cirie had to go. He said he didn't think she'd been playing comps to her full potential and has been throwing them, she hadn't burned any jury votes, and she planned to go to the end and win based solely on social game. Matt said Cirie had told him awhile back that she'd won Traitors. Jag asked if he meant The Mole and Matt said yes, but then he described Traitors.

Day 89 - Sunday - October 29, 2023

The yard was open so I may have misunderstood them saying it would be closed until Tuesday, or they may have misunderstood whatever BB told them. Yesterday's trick or treat activity might have been out there, which could have led to that misunderstanding. Morning check-ins included Felicia asking Matt if he thought Jag would evict him over Bowie at F3, and Matt said yes, he thought Jag would take Bowie to the end. (Felicia later told Cirie she'd planted that seed with Matt, as if he hadn't thought about it until now, along with some additional anti-Bowie seeds.) Felicia and Matt both pointed out Cirie hasn't and still doesn't want any blood on her hands. Cirie told Matt she'd been keeping her distance from him for appearances, and he again assured her she's good this week. Jag and Matt did some more counting of decor items for a comp that will probably never happen. Felicia began another campaign pitch to Bowie but Jag joined them, which cut that off until he left again. Jag later told Felicia he'll probably keep noms the same, so that's finally in the open.

Jag and Matt patted themselves on the backs some more, comparing themselves to Derrick and Cody, and saying Bowie was their Victoria and that they'd played her like a fiddle. Bowie told Cirie she was still good and nothing's changed. The second part was true anyway: nothing's changed, but Cirie was far from "good." They got two decks of playing cards, which thrilled them. All five played various games in HOH for three solid hours, forgetting they'd also gotten the selfie camera.

Felicia took Matt aside to point out snippy little comments Bowie and Jag had made towards him during cards, and she told him they would be taking each other to the end rather than him. Matt didn't have a big reaction to that and there's no way to know if he agreed (as he should because it was true), or if he just figured Felicia was trying to stir the pot. The show came and went, and they finally got their Sunday booze delivery. Felicia and Cirie griped to each other about that because they knew the other three had some stashed upstairs that they wouldn't be invited to share. The two of them played cards and sipped their drinks in their comics room. Felicia said "don't be mad if I fart" and Cirie said "don't fart on my bed" and said they should play on Felicia's bed: "wherever you need to fart at, that's where we're playing, fuck that. Fuck that and fuck them." They laughed, and they toasted to the Bookends. Upstairs in HOH, Bowie/Jag/Matt said they'd try to freak Felicia out all week to make her think she was going, and they'd prevent her getting rest before the HOH. They called their plan "pressure cracker" and they thought it was hilarious.

Jag won't be using his veto tomorrow, Cirie and Felicia will stay on the block, and Cirie will be going to jury on Thursday. As of now.

Ratings - Home Stretch, Finally edition

Ratings are based on entertainment value? Kind of

Noms count: original/renom/twist

Much has been said about the length of the season, the abundance of physical comps, repeated comps from other seasons as well as within this one, faulty edits, excessive feeds blocks, etc etc etc. There's really no need for me to say more about any of that because 'it is what it is' and there isn't anything that can be done about it. It never ceases to amaze me how vocally hateful people are about the various issues and the show in general, yet every pre-season the same people are super-excited about its return, with an attitude of 'it'll be different' this time. But hey, at least it still has feeds, unlike that franchise to the north.

Won: Netherland Day 11; a pressure cooker

45 46 - Applicant - Single
Barrister/DJ - Los Angeles, CA

She's laid low, remained unbothered most of the time, and she let herself be pulled into various alliances without doing anything about forming or recruiting for them. Cameron, and then Jag and Matt took the opportunity to pull her close in the second half and here she is sitting pretty at the endgame. She has won two HOHs so far, and Cameron and America went out under her reigns. Depending how the final week unfolds and who ends up as finalists, she might have a shot at the win, something nobody would have predicted early on. It's a possibility many will still scoff at but hey, nobody expected Jordan either.

Her vocal misery about the length of the season, and the downtime, and the tedium of it all has annoyed some but every time she mentions it, I'm right there with her. And then she laughs about it, which I don't always remember to do, so I'm grateful for those constant reminders. I've enjoyed watching her play this game since I haven't seen her other shows and I'm glad she agreed to do this one. I've enjoyed her relationship with Felicia, both the good times and the bad, because of the snappy commentary from both of them, and the ability to laugh at themselves and each other. Most of the time.

She's been getting bitter about all the rest of them and while it can veer into tedious and nasty, I still find it funny much of the time. Maybe that's because people continually spew far nastier things into my mentions about all of them, or maybe because I enjoy seeing some pettiness on feeds. To her credit, she's stuck this long and given her all in most comps, including the physical ones she had poor chances to win, and she's continued to cook for all of them on a regular basis. And she laughs. Both she and Cirie have had some rough times this season but they continue to laugh on a daily basis, and that laughter has kept me going.

PS Sorry Felicia, while seven times on the block is definitely a lot (especially when both Bowie and Matt have yet to do it), but you haven't broken that record. You're still one behind Johnny Mac and Spencer with 9 each, and Victoria will remain the record holder with 10.

Kudos for all the wins, and for setting himself up well with who's left. He may figure he doesn't have to worry about bitter jurors because each eviction's been a group effort but as the numbers thin, his part in them will become more and more apparent. He's gotten rather cocky about it all, comparing him and Matt to Derrick and Cody, and I think he's counting on both Matt and Bowie to take him to finals if they have the option. Meanwhile he seems ready to cut Matt at the end, which most said Cody should have done to Derrick. If that choice is Jag's, he'll get flak no matter which way he goes, on top of the flak already coming his way for having been previously evicted.

He remains the teflon hamster of the season, and he's stayed in good standing with almost everyone throughout. I think Jag's counting on him to pull a Cody at finals if it's the two of them, and he might. As much of a blunder as that was for Cody's chances of winning S16, they also know he came back later and did win. Cirie planted a seed by telling him she was sure Felicia would win if she's at the end against any of them since she survived the block so many times, and she'll have stuck to the end at age 63. But despite Cirie's and Matt's relationship having been strong all season, I don't think he'll have the option of breaking a tie vote this week, and I don't think either Jag or Bowie would be swayed if Matt relays that theory to them. If Jag does end up beating Matt at the end, it will only have been possible because of Matt using his power to revive Jag way back on Day 30, and that would have to sting.

4th juror - 11th evicted - Day 86

She said she'd flirt and was willing to showmance, and she did, hooking up with Cory and later saying she'd surprised herself by developing feelings for him. Her game was often messy, as is often the case with feedster-hamsters, and she often said things she shouldn't to the wrong people, but she managed to escape consequences for that for a long time. She got annoyed at Cory more than once for gaming on her/their behalf without her. She had no wins but avoided eviction three times out of four noms, finally going out on the late season double. She was sometimes performative, especially when she talked about and re-created various iconic BB moments.

3rd juror - 10th evicted - Day 86

Her Diary persona couldn't have been more different than her everyday self, and it was jarring to see her posing and kitty-purring on the episodes after hearing her be relatively normal in the days between episodes. She talked a big game but didn't always have the comp or social skills to back it up, yet she managed to stick for quite awhile anyway, even though she was often a target for several. She and Jared had a more 'adult' showmance than America and Cory, and that's fine. She was let in on the biggest secret of the season but never let it slip to anyone, leading most of us to wonder if she even believed it, or maybe had forgotten.

2nd juror - 9th evicted - Day 79

He came in expecting to win without breaking a sweat, but he didn't count on others playing the game, and he went out with less than impressive stats. He said he'd downplay his BB scholar status but didn't. He was in gamebot mode 24/7 until he hooked up with America, and then he split his time between gaming and making out with her. That split focus may have caused him to let his guard down enough that he didn't realize they'd become everyone's target. He had a birthday, a makeover, and grew a mustache. He might have done better if he was a little older with some more life experience. His gametalk wore me out but I usually enjoyed his dry humor.

1st juror - 8th evicted - Day 72

Comp beast yes, but his social game was a disaster. He never tired of reminding them he was on the block or HOH every week, which didn't help reduce his target. He had two modes: cocky winner or gloomy loser, the former resulting in lengthy How To Play BB lectures that were transparently self-serving. He had peculiar attitudes towards/about both Reilly and America, and the only tight bond he formed was with Red. His lack of self-awareness was never more apparent than when he said 'Cory always has to be the smartest person in a room' - somebody buy this man a mirror.

Won: Dinner with 3 guests

7th evicted - Day 65

She laid low at the start, which can be good strategy, but then she stayed low throughout the middle game, which is not. She was a charter member of Professors but didn't adapt when it fell apart, and while she was well-liked by all, she didn't form strong bonds on the side like her fellow Brown Sugar Babes did. She put more effort into making her teacher job-lie convincing than she did in her BB game, but her semi-regular rants about the overall stupidity of everyone and the season made her a star for Team Fun Feeds.

Won: Netherland Day 9; 1 week post-eviction zombie

HOH 2 - Veto 1 - Noms 1/0/1 - HN 2

6th evicted - Day 58

Izzy could have ratted out his and Cirie's secret and didn't, but Jared mucked up a built-in advantage by continually doing and saying way too much. He hooked up with Blue and spilled his secret to her, but neglected to tell Cirie he had. His relationships with Blue and/or his (ex?) girlfriend are none of my business, but it was an ongoing and interesting side story. He got a free bonus week after he was evicted but failed to make it work for him. His and Cirie's mother-and-son moments were sweet and pure, and that's rare on any season.

5th evicted - Day 44

She clocked Cirie and Jared in a minute, and she quickly went from being a Cirie fan to a devoted ally and surrogate daughter. She made no secret of it and that didn't go unnoticed. She was often manic, chaotic, and cracked, and her animated conversations and limitless facial expressions became their own side game. She later calmed down under Cirie's mentorship and they drove the first half of the game, not always to their benefit. She was a never-a-dull-moment hamster and that's always good for fun feeds.

4th evicted - Day 37

He was a caricature of himself on the episodes but he was more genuine on feeds. His and Cameron's bromance was like some over-countrified afterschool special and when they broke up, the tinkly piano shifted to a broken banjo string twang. He said some inappropriate things, he provided baked goods, and he was a good sport about his birthday roast. He was a victim of the heavily layered and interwoven alliance mess, so this feller had to skedaddle back to hawkin' moonshine in Gatlinburg.

He painted a target on himself by winning the first two vetos and the second HOH, and he knew that. He started out fun and lively but he got HOHitis so bad his own alliance orchestrated a blindside plan to put him up and out. His campaign pitches were painful, right? As he gave marathon speeches, right? In his soft breathy voice, right? To anyone he could corner for an hour, right? He was a superb comp host and game show emcee for one of the few group activities they did.

Four people were already nominated when she won the first HOH and all she had to do was remove two. She spent most of the first days repeating she wanted an alliance of eight, which she eventually pulled together, with F2, F3, F4 along the way. She had it made but then found out everyone else knew about her eight and she spent the rest of her HOH week in tears. Being new to BB, that's what she'd seen on the shows, and most everyone else started doing the same thing right away anyway. Ejected Day 8

Between hamsters thinking he was a secret doctor and feedsters thinking he was a secret twin, his week was full of unintentional comedy. He added to that by not knowing the show or that the game had started without him, then he worked hard to join the game in progress, with no success. Then he dropped the n-word, and then he was gone.

Week 1 BB Multiverse
-Losers of four move-in comps went on the block, and HOH Reilly saved two.

Week 2 Nether Region
-Inconsistent and vague. Individuals were sent to Nether Region for varying lengths of time, receiving 'something good or bad' and selecting the next one to go.
-Roster of who went and for how long is in the Extracurricular Items tally.

Week 4 Invincibility Power
-Viewers voted four to secretly compete for the power, which gave the winner the option to save the Week 4 or Week 5 evictee.
-Cirie, Cory, Jag, Matt competed, Matt won, and secretly used it to cancel Jag's eviction at the end of Week 4.

Week 8 Scary Week: Zombies
-No HOH, noms, or veto.
-Cameron, Jared were evicted on Day 51 double eviction, then sent back into the house as zombies.
-They did a 3-part comp and Cameron won the option to play or pass a live challenge.
-Cameron did the challenge, completed it, and was revived. Jared was evicted again.

Week 11 Comic Week
-Power of Invisibility: HOH's identity was secret, unless they chose to share. Jag won and eventually told everyone. He was allowed to play for the following HOH (which he won).
-Power of Multiplicity: There were two veto comps with two veto winners. Jag won the first, and Blue the second.
