Daily Feeds Recaps

Day 90 - Monday - October 30, 2023

Everyone greeted each other normally this morning, with friendly chatter and hugs. The three and the two continued griping about the other side but remained cordial face to face. Bowie and Jag plus Matt laughed about the plan they hatched over wine last night to make Felicia think she'd be going this week to get her rattled, particularly for the HOH comp, alternately calling it Pressure Cracker and Operation Paranoia. Felicia asked each of them individually if they'd had fun last night and they said they had, though obviously they didn't tell her most of their fun had been at her expense.

Cirie enjoyed the morning sun and told herself she can do ten more days, and she indicated she thought she'd survive this week. (That's what she'd been told by the others, but they planned to vote her out.) She laughed and said she couldn't wait til finale night when she and Jared could finally spill their secret. She said she didn't think anyone would be mad but maybe they would, and she said she especially couldn't wait for Felicia to find out, "girl, your boy is actually my boy."

Jag did not use his veto, so Cirie and Felicia remained on the block. We'll see if the others will go through with their sippy plan to get under Felicia's skin, and if/when Cirie figures out she is the target after all. When Felicia went to Diary, Cirie visited Jag and Matt to say Reilly told her 84 days ago to trust them "and how cool would it be for her to see I did just that? So thank you guys, thank you Reilly." When she left, Jag said "her little tricks, they worked on Survivor, they worked on Traitors, they're not gonna work here, not with the Minutemen." Cirie also approached Bowie to say they'd had their ups and downs but she'd worked on rebuilding trust and "I have nothing more than great thoughts and great wishes for you." Felicia also pitched to Bowie, who reported to Jag and Matt, who reported Cirie's Reilly pitch to her.

Apparently they were told today would be the last day for the yard, for good, so they took advantage of their last sunshine and fresh air. Felicia dumped the hammock, complete with a pillow bonk, and she burst into laughter a second later. Matt went to HOH to nap and the rest of them played cards and pool, getting along great except when they separated, when each group trashed the other up and down. Then they'd get along great again when together, with no Pressure Cracker/Operation Paranoia in sight. It was ridiculous and comical, and pretty typical of end season BB. Jag went on an extended Minutemen pride rant with Matt about how legendary they've played and how they'll be remembered, all while Jag was planning to cut Matt before the end (as far as we know anyway).

Things actually got interesting around 10pm. Bowie, Jag, Matt were making some food and Felicia joined them in the kitchen. She stood silently as the other three did their cooking and eating, awkwardly and mostly silently, with a little chit-chat. Felicia didn't say anything other than short replies to small talk. Matt left for the backyard, Bowie followed him, and after a few more minutes of silence Felicia asked Jag "did we miss something, me and Cirie?" She said they felt like they were "irrelevant factors" with the "final three waiting to negate the two other bodies." And she said the three were transparently avoiding her and Cirie. Jag said he was just hanging out the same as always, she said there's a difference, he said there wasn't, and they repeated those circles for awhile. Felicia said she wondered what it'll be like when it's just one of them left with the three. Jag said "I know you're on the block, I know that's probably a concern for you" (really?), he stressed that he wants to keep her this week, and they reached a tentative cease-fire with a hug. Bowie and Matt talked outside about the awkwardness, with Bowie saying Felicia hadn't been without an alliance until now. So much for all the big talk about trying to make Felicia crumble. Cirie and Jag joined Matt and Bowie outside and Jag described the upcoming comps at length, again, as if they were keeping Cirie and not Felicia, but that was apparently a pre-planned ploy for Cirie to bring back erroneous info to Felicia to get her to throw the F3 comp(s).

There will be retells.

Day 91 - Tuesday - Halloween - October 31, 2023

Felicia and Cirie greeted the day and each other, with Felicia saying "you are the best thing that happened to me in this house, that's for real." Cirie said it was mutual, and each apologized for any under-bus throwing they might have done (and they did). They said they want to keep their friendship after the show, and said they loved each other, and they both were "unapologetically themselves." It was a nice way to start the day, especially for those of us who have enjoyed them individually and together these many weeks.

They were told they'd get Chinese food delivered for dinner, and maybe costumes and/or Halloween makeup. All five hung out in HOH for awhile as it wasn't as freezing as the rest of the house. Scary stories were suggested, which evolved into travel stories, which evolved into parties and their expected post-finale party. Felicia stepped out to ask Diary if she could get a confirmation about their families being brought in but she didn't get an answer. (I think the show will usually fly out two family members for each of the three finalists, and otherwise they're on their own.) Matt and Bowie were dozing and Cirie told Jag she wouldn't campaign against Felicia but just wanted to know if she has his vote? He lied (pointlessly) and said "yeah, yeah, absolutely." Cirie said "aww don't make me cry" and said she won't ask again. Jag later retold to Bowie, saying Cirie didn't specify if she meant his vote to keep or evict her, adding "well yeah, you do have my vote, it just happens to be against you." Felicia checked in with Bowie who once again told her she was good.

They had a delivery of wigs and costumes, and they had fun dressing up for their party. Feeds went to adoptable anipals about halfway through the episode airing for their Chinese food meal and probable booze and music.

Feeds were down about two hours and when they came back, they were all still at the table in their costumes, on their separate sides, with several carved jack o'lanterns. Matt was still working on his, with Jag coaching. There were a bunch of snacks and candies on the table and they'd had booze. Cirie and Felicia went back to their comics room and Felicia said there was an extra beer they should go get. Jag, Matt, Bowie took the pumpkins to HOH to take pics (they'd gotten the camera), and Jag said "I really only care about our pumpkins, get that shit out of here" referring to Cirie's and Felicia's. They also mentioned the extra beer and said they should divide it five ways, and so they did. They still had some stashed from Sunday and/or Jag's HOH supply. Bowie started up again saying they should tell Felicia she's going so she'd stop studying. Matt wasn't overly responsive to that, but Jag was out of the room and might get on board with that idea, since he caved so easily last night when Felicia confronted him. The three of them also replanned some Operation Paranoia maneuvers for tomorrow.

Day 92 - Wednesday - November 1, 2023

Cirie and Felicia got their luggage and packed up their BB lives. It was surprising how many clothes they both had, since they've both worn their bathrobes almost daily, but maybe they've both been frequently cycling what they've worn under them. Each made a campaign pitch here and there to the others, including one pitch from Cirie to all three, saying they all told her she'll have their votes tomorrow but adding she's not comfortable, "but I'm not gonna make you guys feel crazy [by pestering them about it] because I know how that feels." Cirie and Felicia realized they'd both been told they're staying. Each thought the other would actually stay, but they agreed they were at peace either way. Their duo and the Bowie/Jag/Matt trio stayed mostly isolated from each other again/still, gossiping and griping about the other group between studying, card games, and season rehashes, but they all remained cordial when face to face. There was still no sign of the much-planned and talked-about Operation Paranoia, fortunately. With all these jury phase blindsides, I have to wonder if Jag's been trying to retaliate against everyone for his 10-0 vote, one by one, like a slasher horror movie plot.

The rest of the day was a lot of not much. The duo and the trio stayed separate from each other, with occasional passing comments if they happened to end up in the same room. Felicia said at one point she wasn't going to cook for the other three anymore since they'd been so rude by avoiding her and Cirie this week. Then going through the pantry to figure out something for dinner, she said she'd go ahead and make dinner for everyone. But then she and Cirie realized it was later than they realized, so they just had some leftover Chinese food and went back to their comics room to await lights out. They talked and joked a lot about the season, the jury for whichever one goes there, and the final week with the others for whichever one stays, and they did some good-natured poking at each other about their ups and downs over these 13 long weeks. They finally made it to bedtime, and Mister B turned off their comics room lights about ten minutes early. I will miss Cirie this final week, and I'll miss her and Felicia together as well. Separately and together, they've entertained me for 92 days, and that's all I ever hope for.

Ratings - Home Stretch, Finally edition

Ratings are based on entertainment value? Kind of

Noms count: original/renom/twist

Much has been said about the length of the season, the abundance of physical comps, repeated comps from other seasons as well as within this one, faulty edits, excessive feeds blocks, etc etc etc. There's really no need for me to say more about any of that because 'it is what it is' and there isn't anything that can be done about it. It never ceases to amaze me how vocally hateful people are about the various issues and the show in general, yet every pre-season the same people are super-excited about its return, with an attitude of 'it'll be different' this time. But hey, at least it still has feeds, unlike that franchise to the north.

Why didn't they show the HOH trio making their plans to try to get Felicia to crack on Tuesday's show? It's a big part of the narrative at this point. The current three versus two arrangement and the cattiness of both sides is a big part of the narrative at this point - it's the only narrative going on at this point. Maybe on Thursday's show. Ha ha, I got jokes.

Won: Netherland Day 11; a pressure cooker

HOH 2 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 2

45 46 - Applicant - Single
Barrister/DJ - Los Angeles, CA

She's laid low, remained unbothered most of the time, and she let herself be pulled into various alliances without doing anything about forming or recruiting for them. Cameron, and then Jag and Matt took the opportunity to pull her close in the second half and here she is sitting pretty at the endgame. She has won two HOHs so far, and Cameron and America went out under her reigns. Depending how the final week unfolds and who ends up as finalists, she might have a shot at the win, something nobody would have predicted early on. It's a possibility many will still scoff at but hey, nobody expected Jordan either.

Her vocal misery about the length of the season, and the downtime, and the tedium of it all has annoyed some but every time she mentions it, I'm right there with her. And then she laughs about it, which I don't always remember to do, so I'm grateful for those constant reminders. I've enjoyed watching her play this game since I haven't seen her other shows and I'm glad she agreed to do this one. I've enjoyed her relationship with Felicia, both the good times and the bad, because of the snappy commentary from both of them, and the ability to laugh at themselves and each other. Most of the time.

Won: 24 18 hours slimings; Dinner guest; 48 hours kayak with Cirie; 24 hrs solitary

HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 6/0/1 - HN 1

63 - Applicant - Married, 1 son
Real estate agent - Kennesaw, GA

She's been getting bitter about all the rest of them and while it can veer into tedious and nasty, I still find it funny much of the time. Maybe that's because people continually spew far nastier things into my mentions about all of them, or maybe because I enjoy seeing some pettiness on feeds. To her credit, she's stuck this long and given her all in most comps, including the physical ones she had poor chances to win, and she's continued to cook for all of them on a regular basis. And she laughs. Both she and Cirie have had some rough times this season but they continue to laugh on a daily basis, and that laughter has kept me going.

PS Sorry Felicia, while seven times on the block is definitely a lot (especially when both Bowie and Matt have yet to do it), but you haven't broken that record. You're still one behind Johnny Mac and Spencer with 9 each, and Victoria will remain the record holder with 10.

Won: $8,500; Netherland Day 10; Week 2 immunity; 1 week chicken suit; Invincibility vote; Day 30 revival; Movie guest

HOH 2 - Veto 6 - Noms 2/1/0 - HN 1

Truck company owner/realtor - Omak, WA

Kudos for all the wins, and for setting himself up well with who's left. He may figure he doesn't have to worry about bitter jurors because each eviction's been a group effort but as the numbers thin, his part in them will become more and more apparent. He's gotten rather cocky about it all, comparing him and Matt to Derrick and Cody, and I think he's counting on both Matt and Bowie to take him to finals if they have the option. Meanwhile he seems ready to cut Matt at the end, which most said Cody should have done to Derrick. If that choice is Jag's, he'll get flak no matter which way he goes, on top of the flak already coming his way for having been previously evicted.

Won: $5,000; Invincibility vote and power; 1 week 5 days Duhamel-a-maniac; Movie guest

HOH 1 - Veto 2 - Noms 0/0/0 - HN 2

27 - Recruit - Single
Deaflympics gold medalist - Baton Rouge, LA

He remains the teflon hamster of the season, and he's stayed in good standing with almost everyone throughout. I think Jag's counting on him to pull a Cody at finals if it's the two of them, and he might. As much of a blunder as that was for Cody's chances of winning S16, they also know he came back later and did win. Cirie planted a seed by telling him she was sure Felicia would win if she's at the end against any of them since she survived the block so many times, and she'll have stuck to the end at age 63. But despite Cirie's and Matt's relationship having been strong all season, I don't think he'll have the option of breaking a tie vote this week, and I don't think either Jag or Bowie would be swayed if Matt relays that theory to them. If Jag does end up beating Matt at the end, it will only have been possible because of Matt using his power to revive Jag way back on Day 30, and that would have to sting.

Won: Dinner guest

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 3/1/0 - HN 2

27 - Applicant - Single
Medical receptionist - Brooklyn NY

4th juror - 11th evicted - Day 86

She said she'd flirt and was willing to showmance, and she did, hooking up with Cory and later saying she'd surprised herself by developing feelings for him. Her game was often messy, as is often the case with feedster-hamsters, and she often said things she shouldn't to the wrong people, but she managed to escape consequences for that for a long time. She got annoyed at Cory more than once for gaming on her/their behalf without her. She had no wins but avoided eviction three times out of four noms, finally going out on the late season double. She was sometimes performative, especially when she talked about and re-created various iconic BB moments.

Won: $1,000; Movie guest

HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 4/0/0 - HN 1

25 - Recruit - Single
Brand strategist - New York, NY

3rd juror - 10th evicted - Day 86

Her Diary persona couldn't have been more different than her everyday self, and it was jarring to see her posing and kitty-purring on the episodes after hearing her be relatively normal in the days between episodes. She talked a big game but didn't always have the comp or social skills to back it up, yet she managed to stick for quite awhile anyway, even though she was often a target for several. She and Jared had a more 'adult' showmance than America and Cory, and that's fine. She was let in on the biggest secret of the season but never let it slip to anyone, leading most of us to wonder if she even believed it, or maybe had forgotten.

Won: Netherland Day 1; Invincibility vote

HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/1/1 - HN 3

21 22 - Applicant/stuntcast - Single
College student - Ft Lauderdale, FL

2nd juror - 9th evicted - Day 79

He came in expecting to win without breaking a sweat, but he didn't count on others playing the game, and he went out with less than impressive stats. He said he'd downplay his BB scholar status but didn't. He was in gamebot mode 24/7 until he hooked up with America, and then he split his time between gaming and making out with her. That split focus may have caused him to let his guard down enough that he didn't realize they'd become everyone's target. He had a birthday, a makeover, and grew a mustache. He might have done better if he was a little older with some more life experience. His gametalk wore me out but I usually enjoyed his dry humor.

Won: Europe trip; 1 week 5 days piggy suit; 2000 cups of dirt with Izzy; 1 week post-eviction zombie; Zombie advantage; Day 58 revival; Movie screening with 3 guests

HOH 3 - Veto 2 - Noms 3/2/0 - HN 0

34 - Applicant - Separated, 1 daughter
Stay-at-home dad - Eastman, GA

1st juror - 8th evicted - Day 72

Comp beast yes, but his social game was a disaster. He never tired of reminding them he was on the block or HOH every week, which didn't help reduce his target. He had two modes: cocky winner or gloomy loser, the former resulting in lengthy How To Play BB lectures that were transparently self-serving. He had peculiar attitudes towards/about both Reilly and America, and the only tight bond he formed was with Red. His lack of self-awareness was never more apparent than when he said 'Cory always has to be the smartest person in a room' - somebody buy this man a mirror.

Won: Dinner with 3 guests

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0/0 - HN 1

30 - Applicant - Newlywed
Political consultant - Upper Marlboro, MD

7th evicted - Day 65

She laid low at the start, which can be good strategy, but then she stayed low throughout the middle game, which is not. She was a charter member of Professors but didn't adapt when it fell apart, and while she was well-liked by all, she didn't form strong bonds on the side like her fellow Brown Sugar Babes did. She put more effort into making her teacher job-lie convincing than she did in her BB game, but her semi-regular rants about the overall stupidity of everyone and the season made her a star for Team Fun Feeds.

Won: Netherland Day 9; 1 week post-eviction zombie

HOH 2 - Veto 1 - Noms 1/0/1 - HN 2

25 - Applicant/stuntcast - Single
Exterminator - Norwalk, CT

6th evicted - Day 58

Izzy could have ratted out his and Cirie's secret and didn't, but Jared mucked up a built-in advantage by continually doing and saying way too much. He hooked up with Blue and spilled his secret to her, but neglected to tell Cirie he had. His relationships with Blue and/or his (ex?) girlfriend are none of my business, but it was an ongoing and interesting side story. He got a free bonus week after he was evicted but failed to make it work for him. His and Cirie's mother-and-son moments were sweet and pure, and that's rare on any season.

Won: 1 week 5 days piggy suit; 2000 cups of dirt with Cameron

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0/0 - HN 2

32 - Applicant - Has a girlfriend
Flutist - New York, NY

5th evicted - Day 44

She clocked Cirie and Jared in a minute, and she quickly went from being a Cirie fan to a devoted ally and surrogate daughter. She made no secret of it and that didn't go unnoticed. She was often manic, chaotic, and cracked, and her animated conversations and limitless facial expressions became their own side game. She later calmed down under Cirie's mentorship and they drove the first half of the game, not always to their benefit. She was a never-a-dull-moment hamster and that's always good for fun feeds.

Won: 1 year P+ and home theater

HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 1/0/0 - HN 1

37 38 - Recruit - Has a girlfriend, 3 kids
Sales/TikTokker - Gatlinburg, TN

4th evicted - Day 37

He was a caricature of himself on the episodes but he was more genuine on feeds. His and Cameron's bromance was like some over-countrified afterschool special and when they broke up, the tinkly piano shifted to a broken banjo string twang. He said some inappropriate things, he provided baked goods, and he was a good sport about his birthday roast. He was a victim of the heavily layered and interwoven alliance mess, so this feller had to skedaddle back to hawkin' moonshine in Gatlinburg.

Won: Nothing

HOH 1 - Veto 2 - Noms 0/1/0 - HN 1

45 - Applicant - Divorced
Geriatric physician/burlesquer - Seattle, WA

3rd evicted - Day 23

He painted a target on himself by winning the first two vetos and the second HOH, and he knew that. He started out fun and lively but he got HOHitis so bad his own alliance orchestrated a blindside plan to put him up and out. His campaign pitches were painful, right? As he gave marathon speeches, right? In his soft breathy voice, right? To anyone he could corner for an hour, right? He was a superb comp host and game show emcee for one of the few group activities they did.

2nd evicted - Day 16

Four people were already nominated when she won the first HOH and all she had to do was remove two. She spent most of the first days repeating she wanted an alliance of eight, which she eventually pulled together, with F2, F3, F4 along the way. She had it made but then found out everyone else knew about her eight and she spent the rest of her HOH week in tears. Then she hit the block and campaigned poorly, but at least she went out fighting.

1st evicted - Day 9

She was on the block when she started to pitch and double-dip, and you can't blame her for that. Being new to BB, that's what she'd seen on the shows, and most everyone else started doing the same thing right away anyway. But Kirsten became an easy scapegoat since she wasn't in their inner power circles. She would have been good feeds: she planned a scorching nominee speech, but then opted to go out classy and didn't use it.

Ejected Day 8

Between hamsters thinking he was a secret doctor and feedsters thinking he was a secret twin, his week was full of unintentional comedy. He added to that by not knowing the show or that the game had started without him, then he worked hard to join the game in progress, with no success. Then he dropped the n-word, and then he was gone.

GAME TWISTS

Week 1 BB Multiverse
-Losers of four move-in comps went on the block, and HOH Reilly saved two.

Week 2 Nether Region
-Inconsistent and vague. Individuals were sent to Nether Region for varying lengths of time, receiving 'something good or bad' and selecting the next one to go.
-Roster of who went and for how long is in the Extracurricular Items tally.

Week 4 Invincibility Power
-Viewers voted four to secretly compete for the power, which gave the winner the option to save the Week 4 or Week 5 evictee.
-Cirie, Cory, Jag, Matt competed, Matt won, and secretly used it to cancel Jag's eviction at the end of Week 4.

Week 8 Scary Week: Zombies
-No HOH, noms, or veto.
-Cameron, Jared were evicted on Day 51 double eviction, then sent back into the house as zombies.
-They did a 3-part comp and Cameron won the option to play or pass a live challenge.
-Cameron did the challenge, completed it, and was revived. Jared was evicted again.

Week 11 Comic Week
-Power of Invisibility: HOH's identity was secret, unless they chose to share. Jag won and eventually told everyone. He was allowed to play for the following HOH (which he won).
-Power of Multiplicity: There were two veto comps with two veto winners. Jag won the first, and Blue the second.
