America and Blue finished their packing, each of them still certain they'd be staying. Cirie and Felicia talked about how Blue still believes she'd be staying. Cirie said "Jag's wrong for this" and Felicia said "they are grinning in that girl's face." Felicia yesterday told Jag she wanted to let Blue know she was a goner but apparently that plan fell apart for one reason or another. And of course feedsters either celebrated with glee or stomped with resentment, apparently forgetting a) all but two have to go eventually, and b) each of the remaining seven has been giddy about not warning prior blindside victims of their impending dooms, and there have been several this season. Out here, we've reached the point where nearly everyone watching has become a hater.. RIP Team Fun Feeds. Julie showed up with bangs again, but a longer 'do than the last double eviction. This time she opened by saying two would actually leave, following another highly-sped-up opening recap. The in-show recap included Felicia ding-donging sleeping Jag in HOH (but without referencing it was 10.30am), and they ran the he said/she said fact-checks in reverse order, which was different. After all the angst and hoopla of yesterday and today, Blue was indeed warned before the show she'd be leaving, and she was dressed to do so while America was in comp clothes. Blue was evicted 4-0 as expected, and tediously planned. The HOH comp was Triple Feature, from Scrambleverse, featuring movie posters for Turner and Pooch, Avataylor, and Hisamheimer, with different detail items for them to study for a couple seconds each before answering seven A-B-C questions about them. Everyone missed the first one; Cirie, Matt, Bowie, America got the second; Cirie the third; Cirie, Bowie the fourth; Matt, Felicia the fifth; Matt, Bowie the sixth; and Matt, Bowie, Felicia, America the seventh. That left a tie between Matt and Bowie, and their tiebreaker question was how many seconds "without going over" did the Superhero Training Academy spinny rope veto comp last? The answer was 7,593 (2 hours, 6 minutes, 33 seconds) so Matt's guess of 10,000 was "over" and Bowie won with a guess of 5,400. She nominated America and Felicia. ![]() The veto comp was also Scrambleverse, titled Drive-In Drop. Like Julie's bangs, it was another throwback to the other double eviction veto comp: a race to dig out items from a ball pit (clown shoe style). This time they had to find four "candy" pieces in the pit of "popcorn" and race back up their short flight of stairs, and drop them into a tube. Matt won easily, again, just like the last one. Felicia had gotten two, showing once again she's done better in physical comps than most would have expected. Cirie and Jag had none, and Bowie had dropped one of the ball pit "popcorn" balls into her tube rather than one of the goal "candy" balls, whether by mistake or design. Matt did not use his veto, and America and Felicia stayed on the block. ![]() America was evicted 3-0, and became yet another statistic of the first-in curse. She instantly went from tears in the house to huge smiles as soon as she stepped out the door, and she said she was excited to join Cory in the jury house when asked. Both evictees went out the door with smiles and poses, and both were cheerful and animated with Julie, once again showing how the angst-ridden life-or-death vibe inside the house is instantly shattered when they step through the exit door. Back inside, the final five celebrated with smiles and hugs and self-congratulations all around, with some comments about everything having gone to plan. They were probably also celebrating having achieved the bonus pay tiers. Julie announced next week's shows which consisted of nothing unusual other than a jury house segment next Thursday. Out here, we settled into another lengthy wait to find out who the next HOH would be. I figure it'll be another very dragged-out week with the same repetitive and over-complicated plans to keep those plans secret. Then things will pick up very rapidly the following week before we're done here. Feeds came back around 10.35pm and Matt won the HOH. He, Jag, Bowie were quietly congratulating themselves and each other in the kitchen about this win and Bowie's earlier, and their winning reign since Cameron. Matt fist-bumped Jag and then Bowie for another win for their group, on top of so many in a row. I'd guess Cirie and Felicia will be the initial noms, and they were in their comics room discussing ways they might be able to save themselves. (The only way I see that happening is if Cirie convinces Matt to boot Jag, but that would rely on veto, and I don't know if Matt would be willing to spend the week with Jag after putting him on the block, but we'll see how things unfold.) The comp was called BB City or BB City [something] but I didn't hear a peep about what it was, other than it sounded like it involved their BB Comics characters, and targeting other players somehow. While Matt was in HOH, Jag and Bowie discussed targeting Cirie but not telling Matt until after veto.I'll catch up Bowie's and Matt's goodies and letters tomorrow. Day 87 - Friday - October 27, 2023 I used to say HOH baskets were like a convenience store snacks and candy counter but these days they're like getting the whole store, and Bowie's and Matt's were no exception. Bowie got hers in the pantry around 12.30am and she took it into the scary room to go through it. Cirie was in Diary during that but the rest of them went through every item. Her booze was kombucha so I didn't add it to the tally. She got pics of her doggie along with sunglasses, a hat, more Vegemite, and a ton of lotions, face masks, and mass amounts of the aforementioned food items. She read her letter which was from her friend Emily. ![]() Matt got his room around 1.50am and he was as shocked as the rest of them to find a pic of Reilly with his mom along with the usual family pics. And his letter was from Reilly. Along with the usual WTG messages, it said "if the silly Q-tip heart didn't get the message across, the feeling is mutual and I can't wait to see you." And of course he got a boatload of food and drinks, plus wine, and music by Trippie Redd. His noms will likely be Cirie and Felicia, and even though he told both Cirie and Bowie they'd be safe, Bowie and Jag discussed taking the opportunity to boot Cirie. We'll see how that plays out. ![]() I missed most the pre-nom meetings but suffice to say Cirie attempted to get Matt to aim for Bowie or Jag, and Felicia attempted to shove Bowie in front of her, but to no avail for either. Matt later recapped that he'd said he couldn't put up Bowie because she hadn't put him on the block on either of her HOHs, and he told Jag and Bowie that he'd told Cirie he wanted to backdoor (ahem, renom) Jag or Bowie but wouldn't put them up before veto because they'd fight too hard and would win it. And he said he'd told Felicia she was the pawn and Bowie was his target. He added to his meeting retells that he needed Cirie and Felicia comfortable, "I don't want the house to be awkward all week" and he said he'd been carrying Cirie all season. Matt, Jag, Bowie finally decided to name their alliance and they settled on Mafia. Matt and Jag said "we were the Fugitives because we were just trying to survive, but at this point we're the Mafia" basically taking out anyone in their way. They devised a hand gesture that first drew a line in the sand, then formed a finger M, turned upside down to a W for winning. Cirie and Felicia were understandably and expectedly bitter and resentful after their meetings. Matt nominated Cirie and Felicia, as planned. Feeds came back to all five of them playing pool together, joking around and making happy noises, and getting along like it was the first days - at least on the surface. Meanwhile the fandom was drawing blood right and left about each of the hamsters, their words, their decisions, and taking aim at anyone who disagreed with them. When Felicia and Bowie went inside, Cirie said "one you mother-fers better win the veto." Matt said "yeah, let me give you a hug, sorry, you're good" and Jag said "you're good either way - tell you what, you're gonna win." Each gave her a hug, and I don't know if she heard the clearly evident (to me) lying tone in their voices as they both again reassured her "you're good." The yard was open today so the veto comp will likely be in the indoor space. It will air on Tuesday so should have a Halloween theme I'd think? Maybe sliding pumpkins shuffleboard style, or identifying gross foods or drinks, or maybe the stay/fold Jag was obsessed with for awhile, guess how many mini candy bars or gumballs are in this display case. Dinner was grilled lamb and pork, with a committee forming to figure out why things were cooking unevenly. The grilling was otherwise uneventful though, the clanking contraption perhaps not willing to put forth much effort at this late date. They all ate together outside, chatting friendly, seeming to take all of it a few notches less seriously than many watching. Evening feeds were silent, or studying, with a bit of the three griping about the two and vice versa, plus some Matt griping about Cory and America, calling them the "fake showmance." They were all tired after the double and the late night, and planned to go to bed early.SUBSCRIBE to my Patreon to get these daily recaps in your email box!
