Barrett and Devens talked about last night's Zom-BB movie and each of them described fun video projects they'd done in the past - two of those are linked below in Links of the Day. As of early afternoon I've heard no campaigning from any of the nominees, but that picked up slowly and gradually. Taylor told Dee that she and Yash want to meet with her and Devens at some point to discuss double eviction plans. We have a two-hour show tonight and much of it will be a very extended movie commercial, so plan accordingly and stay hydrated. Melody called her mom again and cried again, saying she's scared about tomorrow's Block Buster and that's a new emotion for her in there, as this is the first time if she doesn't win, she's done and she doesn't want to go yet. That's not necessarily true: at this point, Barrett will go to jury if he's on the block for the vote, and Melody will only go if she's against Taylor. But even that's not final yet. Last night Yash and Taylor agreed they'd prefer to keep Barrett but they'd lose Dee, Devens, Drew if they vote to keep him, so they hope he wins the BBBB. Taylor said she didn't really feel a need to campaign but she would do some today, and she'd stress to the Survivors that the four of them could easily make final four if they stick with each other. Melody finally asked Dee and Taylor "how they feel" if she's next to Barrett, and they said they think she'll be okay. Barrett told Drew he won't vote Melody out if he has a vote, and he said he might want to target Yash sooner than later, maybe in the double. Devens had a lengthy talk to us and said he'd prefer Barrett go tomorrow. And he said he doesn't want to turn on Yash and Taylor yet but he or Dee might "have to" put up Yash and Drew in the double to get Yash out. Yash told Barrett to win the Block Buster. Dee and Yash had a check-in and Devens joined them for a short time. But they were in the open in the living room and whispering so quietly, I didn't catch what they said even with headphones. Later Dee, Devens, Taylor, Yash finally met in HOH and agreed to vote out Barrett tomorrow, or Melody if Barrett wins the Block Buster. And if it's a double (they're all pretty sure it is), they'll put up Drew plus Barrett or Melody, whichever one's still there. And if veto's used, they'd put up the other one. But either they were confused or more likely I misheard, because they'd have to put up one of themselves in that case? Likely Taylor. Again. It will be what it is, and any loyalty between Dee/Devens and Taylor/Yash is flimsy at best. They also did some rehashing and a lot of laughing, and it was good to see Taylor in that mix. Barrett sat down to type whatever it is he types to whoever he types it to. Maybe we'll find out what that's about after the season. Drew and Melody did their dysfunctional cuddling-type whatever in the pod bunks. Have-not for Barrett and Devens will end at midnight and hopefully be done for the season. Enough is enough. Drew told Devens he's nervous going into a double tomorrow and Devens made a point of saying he couldn't/wouldn't say much, but personally he'd like Drew to stick around if possible. His tone implied it might not be possible. Drew then went to work on Dee who also didn't provide much encouragement at first, but she seemed to come around a little the more he pushed. She talked with Devens again but they didn't finalize any decisions, and they'll talk about it more tomorrow. Tonight's episode closed with an announcement that tomorrow will be the last Block Buster for the season, so that follows last year's schedule. After tomorrow's second eviction there will be five left and if they continue to follow last year, fifth place will go out on Monday and that eviction will air Wednesday. Last year Keanu's exit was called a "unique eviction" as it was done with voodoo dolls and no Julie. Last week Julie said a "special eviction" is coming up and that usually implies a show that's taped ahead with her hosting, but no audience. We'll find out more as we get there but regardless how it unfolds, the end game is definitely upon us.If you missed what came before, click 'previous Hamsterwatch episode' up top and/or use my season directory. Day 71 - Tuesday - September 15, 2026 Just after I wrapped up last night's recap, Drew and Yash had their first check-in about their veto endurance deal since they cut it. Neither has told anyone else about it, and they laughed about everyone apparently believing they were arguing at the end, since they were both questioned about being so talkative and animated on the monitor inside. They had another 8am wakeup today, for no apparent reason again, and most of them mostly ignored it and stayed in their beds, or went back to them after battery and bathroom visits. They got pretty much every version of "wake up" recordings they have, and there are quite a few. Most of them were finally up by 10.30am or so, but the yard was already closed for the week so nobody seemed too excited to face the day. Drew came up behind Melody and grabbed her as she was cycling and said "I'm sorry for being loud and annoying, I'm sorry." He keeps saying similar things to various people but he keeps being loud and annoying, like he thinks it's cute or endearing? I don't get it. I also don't get his and Melody's weird version of clutching each other: it's flirty but chaste, often childish, and I usually can't tell if it's a modern ballet or a scene from a serial killer movie. Taylor pulled out a crusted egg pan and asked who keeps ruining them? Nobody confessed. Barrett seemed a bit better than yesterday and did some circulating and socializing before returning to his office in the gym. He was upright and moving (cycling) which was an improvement, and Devens joined him to chat workouts and weight gains. Barrett made the pitch he's been rehearsing, offering the world to Devens and Dee if he stays. Devens made encouraging noises and said he hopes they'll be able to "find each other again" in the game but he didn't commit, saying he'll consult with Dee. Barrett stayed in his office/gym after that and most of the others socialized downstairs. Awhile later BB called Barrett to the storage room, and all of them went with to support him. To everyone's delight, Barrett's clean and wrapped laundry had been found and returned! He was overjoyed and said it was like his birthday all over again. ![]() Since Barrett (and Devens) are still Have-not for some dumb reason, everyone cracked open and cheers'd immunity shots. Barrett took his packages to his (usual) walk-thru bedroom and tore them open, clearly thrilled to finally have his own things back again. Taylor made fried chicken and salad for all, which they loved, but they wanted more so Yash brought down some of his HOH food. They had another call to the pantry and they all crowded around the door again and piled in to find a booze delivery - just the second pantry delivery of the season. That made them happy, especially Dee who jumped up and down, but Barrett and Devens still had to serve out the rest of their Have-not sentence so they didn't get any. The selfie phone came out too, causing screams and squeals, and Melody retold her orthodontic experiences again. Barrett had retired back to his office/gym but they called him back, and eventually Devens scripted and directed a zombie movie starring Barrett. It will probably show up on the show's socials in a few days but I'm here to spoil the ending. If you missed what came before, click 'previous Hamsterwatch episode' up top and/or use my season directory. THANK YOU SO MUCH for reading the site, following me on Bluesky, and supporting me on Patreon or Ko-fi! Day 70 - Monday - September 14, 2026 Morning came too early for most of them, including Melody, who passed out in the yard while the rest of them stayed in or went back to their beds after initial wakeup. Today's veto meeting will be a formality and a non-issue. Despite Melody pitching to Drew last night to take her off the block, he'll use it on himself, and Taylor is Yash's only option to go up as renom.Drew turned up on yet another show, this time an upcoming Willy Wonka game/reality show on Netflix - see link below. Apparently the show will use an AI-generated version of Gene Wilder's voice (reason enough to avoid it, for me). It sounds like Drew didn't make the cut to get past the preliminary stage to be on the show proper, but he might appear on it as an almost? Maybe to cash in on him being on BB currently. Either way, I'm pretty sure our hamsters have an exclusivity clause, and that's why cast-announced Marvin was replaced by Joseph for BB24, so it's an interesting situation. Dee and Devens talked still more Survivor over coffee on the outside balcony, with various others coming and going. That topic has to be psychological bonding tactics at this point, since each of them probably suspects the other's ready to cut them. At any rate, I don't watch that show and I'm tired of the name-dropping and stories about it, and I'd think the rest of them might be too. They might as well be wearing Team Survivor shirts to remind everyone else the deck is stacked against them. Drew joined at one point and they talked about their videos from home, and how Barrett's included a throat-cutting gesture and oven mitt puppet(s). That sounds like it was fun and cute, but Devens said "we can't keep Barrett" because of it, figuring it was encouragement for making a move against the vets. Melody made herself something on the stove and then complained about it sticking to the pan. She washed up, scraping quite a bit of pan residue into the sink, cheese maybe. I think they still don't have a sink disposal so I assume there's a drain strainer? But I didn't see her clean that out, which makes me wonder how much food has gone down the kitchen drain since LaLa and Angela left. Drew used his veto on himself, and Yash put Taylor on the block for her fifth time, having no other option, and Dee's BB Bribe is now well and truly over. Taylor took to her pod bed after the veto meeting. She wasn't feeling well to start with today and hitting the block yet again probably didn't help. Dee offered her something to eat which she turned down, and Dee told her she'll be safe no matter what on Thursday. Yash visited her a bit later and said the same, and Devens told her the same when she got up to eat later. That seemed to perk her up and she socialized in the yard for awhile. Dee shmoozed her with questions about her life and family, and she later shmoozed Melody and asked questions about her life and family. Day 70. Dee and Devens walked the yard and talked themselves up, and continued planning the demises of their roomies, starting with Barrett on Thursday and then Yash if they get a chance, even though they'd "like to show Yash loyalty." Barrett again practiced his pitch to (falsely) promise Dee and Devens the world but he didn't deliver it (yet). Drew said he hasn't washed his bedding all season, and we already knew Yash hasn't either. Day 70.Melody and Drew managed to make some pasta by themselves, and Drew washed their dishes! He put a lot of plate scrapings down the drain like Melody did earlier, and he barely made a sponge pass on the colander, but he almost tried. At the same time, the backyarders were laughing about his bad dishwashing skills. Later, Taylor cleaned up yet another sinkful of dishes. Dee, Devens, Taylor, Yash formalized and called themselves Culture. It's kind of cute how people keep making and naming alliances when they've proven time and time again they mean nothing this season. Barrett confirmed his laundry has in fact been lost - what's up with that, BB? Sure, things happen, but why hasn't he at least had some basics replaced yet? He spent most of the afternoon alone, moping, and mostly silent. My favorite camera operator(s) did some artsy things like making Barrett black and white (ouch) in the gym, then they turned everything to blue. From there he sat alone under the living room monitor as Drew and Melody were playing pasta around the corner, and then he sat in his old walk-thru bedroom and then his current Have-not bedroom. Devens joined him a couple times to ask how he's doing, and Barrett said he thinks he lost a lot of relationships last week, acknowledging "I did it to myself." Devens told him he'd made a move in the game, and if he hadn't he might regret it later. And he assured him he's still loved by all of them, and none of this will last once the show's over, adding "you did not ruin any personal relationships." It got emotional for both, but Barrett seemed to perk up a little. If you missed what came before, click 'previous Hamsterwatch episode' up top and/or use my season directory.
