Daily Feeds RecapsPre-season continued - June 2026It's still too early for hard news but rumors and hints of at least some vets returning are looking more and more likely. This is not good news for me, but there's nothing I can do about it but grin and bear it, so here we are. A teaser commercial hit on June 18 with Julie saying "historical" is a word to describe Big Brother, while lighting-fast clips from past comps and iconic moments flash by, and they also quick-cycled through the show's logos back to the first season, so the theme might be something to do with BB eras? As we know, they like nothing more than to ride the coattails of some recent trend. The ad ends with some BB-relevant clip art: a cartoon Zingbot, an hourglass (historical, get it?), a camera lens, an eye morphing into a key, and a pink flamingo pool floatie. Noticeably missing is the pool duckie with his sunglasses, pfftt. Julie also refers to the show as "your favorite guilty pleasure" in the ad, which is as accurate as it gets - feedsters know this better than anyone. In other news, both bad and good, unfortunately BB28 won't be shown on Global in Canada, but BB29 will be back next summer on Crave/CTV. BUT FIRST Big Brother Canada will be revived once again, and will air next spring on Crave/CTV. It'll have a new production team, Entourage, who produce the French-language celebs version in Quebec, and it'll be hosted by Andrea Bain. Canadians can still watch BB28 on Pluto TV with a VPN set to USA. I use and recommend Nord - it's easy, safe, secure, with great customer service, and they have a wide selection of pricing plans. In the best news yet, we will once again have adoptable anipals on feeds during scheduled downtimes again, courtesy of Rancho Coastal Humane! This will be their 12th season amusing us with adorable puppies, kitties, and bunnies, so be sure to show them some love. Many of the anipals we see on feeds are already adopted by the time we see them, but there are always more looking for forever homes at Rancho Coastal as well as your local shelters and rescues. On a personal note, I'm now blue-check certified on Bluesky, where account verification is still earned rather than bought. Bluesky's turned into a pretty great social site, with a fun and active BB community that isn't overwhelmed by negativity and nastiness like some other sites. If you haven't yet joined, give it a shot (and say hi if you do!) Pre-season - May 2026We've got a premiere date! Pre-season kicked off right on schedule on May 13 with the announcement that Big Brother's 28th season will premiere on CBS on Thursday, July 9. Feeds will be back again via Paramount Plus, and via Pluto TV (with ads). Teasers and tidbits will start coming along but for now here's what we know: the usual CBS schedule will again be Sundays, Wednesdays, live Thursdays, all starting at 8pm Eastern/local time. The first two shows, July 9 and 12, will be 90 minutes, as will all Wednesday shows. Unlocked will be back, starting Friday, July 10 at 8pm, and it will have a live audience this time. Scheduled air dates are July 10, 24, August 7, 14, Sepember 4, 18. The press release teased the usual promise of a new season "packed with twists and turns" (which we probably don't need), and it said this season will feature "the most programming hours ever." Unlocked is every other week again, so I don't know how that promise/threat will be fulfilled. I just hope we aren't going back to over-long seasons again. They did not mention "all new" houseguests, which could imply one or more vets (boo!) And they hyped up how the show's 1,000th episode is coming up. Specifically, they called it "a historic milestone" (true), and they said this is "the first primetime series to hit 1,000 original episodes." But that claim arguably has some challengers with 60 Minutes, Cops, 48 Hours, Larry King, WWE Raw, and Nova. If they meant weekdays-only primetime, entertainment programs, non-cable, on the big three broadcast networks, maybe they could claim that record.
