This little pug with its sticky-out tongue reminded me they spent 40 precious minutes of last year's two-hour double eviction show on repetitive recaps and filler, and most of the double eviction action was as rushed as ever. Weird way to go about things in my opinion, but that's how they do.As of this morning, plans still weren't rock solid but Barrett will probably still go if he doesn't win Block Buster, and Melody will probably go if he does. Dee told Devens if she wins the first HOH, she'll put up Barrett and Drew together so they can't save each other. Taylor made breakfast for them, like she does, and she also made the big midnight meal last night when Barrett and Devens ended their week of slop. Barrett, Dee, Drew finally figured out Taylor's been cleaning up after them and tidying up the living room for live show days. It's Day 73. Recaps and filler took up nearly 40 minutes of the show again, and included Barrett's laundry going missing, and being found and delivered. That was kind of surprising, since they don't normally acknowledge their screwups. Drew had a Diary clip with flat, wet hair which won't make him happy but it did me. And they had LaLa and Angela at the jury house watching comps and Angela's eviction. Then it was finally time to get to work. The Block Buster was titled Crash Site Cover-Up for some reason, and they had to maneuver balls down a wiggly track and get five to land in a tube at the end. Melody got her first win of the season, with 46 seconds to spare, well ahead of both Barrett and Taylor, and she was obviously thrilled. That left Taylor and Barrett to face the votes. Barrett made one of his subtle, sarcastic jokes in his nominee speech when he gushed that Julie looked amazing (twice!) as a parody of the suck-up types who do that. But the rest of his speech was sincere and I believed it when he said it's been the best two and a half months of his life. He was evicted 3-1 with a cameo from our old friends the fishies during the vote. Melody was the dissenting vote to evict Taylor, and our Bluesky mutual's game came to an end. He exited as he'd planned, quickly and efficiently, and without hugs, like BB24 Michael. He was in good spirits for his sit-down with Julie, but inside it was Melody's photo that was grayed out as they watched. She couldn't believe that, and neither could I. Julie told the remainders Block Buster is over, they're going back to two nominees, and they're going to do another eviction cycle tonight, to no one's surprise. The HOH comp was Bleeping Through Time, true/false questions about bleeped words in short video clips from the season, several featuring alum guests reading comp instructions. Melody got her second win of the night, and the season, with five of seven correct. ![]() The pre-noms hustle was frantic, and resulted in Melody nominating Dee and Devens, the second rookie to put them up together and the third to put up Dee. The veto comp was Great Ball of China, in the year 1368 but without a times table ride to get there, and with bad history that landed it on Goof Tally below. They had to complete a puzzle path down a long table, then roll a ball down that path into a chute at the end. Devens won it really fast, before I even had the directions and screencap posted to my Bluesky and Twitter. Julie had to yell at them to get back to their seats, and she gave Drew an extra tongue lashing, telling him "enough with the mirrors!" Devens veto'd himself obviously and Melody put up Yash in his place, over Taylor's strong objections. Devens voted out Yash, Taylor voted out Dee, and Drew hemmed and hawed before voting out Yash, making it 2-1. Unlike Barrett's bolt to the door, Yash went to the kitchen to get some water, reminding everyone to stay hydrated, then went out to one of the most pleasant and gracious exit interviews we've seen in a long time. He was happy Julie asked about his hair, and he made her day by saying "love one another." Name-dropping kicked off as Devens said he spied Mike Bloom in the audience when Yash exited, and Julie brought out James Gunn to say he'll make his second appearance on Unlocked tomorrow. He said he's a friend and fan of Devens but has "been in a room of people who are really rooting against Dee and Devens." Julie inadvertently filled in that blank when she said Chelsie, Britney, Rob Cesternino, Cedric the Entertainer, and the BBies awards will also be on Unlocked tomorrow. Taylor muttered "they're so fuckin stupid" as she went back to her room as the credits rolled, and it went out on the air. That was a perfect bookend for tonight's recap gotcha spot at the start of the show, which featured Taylor yelling "SHUT THE FUCK UP" at a bird.Feeds came back to Melody telling Taylor she already thinks she made a mistake by putting up Yash, Drew telling Melody she's a good ally for him, and Devens blowing hot air at Drew til his hair stood up. More. A lengthy feeds block followed but when feeds came back, they hadn't done the HOH comp yet. Instead, they saw videos from the season, somebody secretly pressed a button to activate the Pharaoh's Curse, and they were told someone else would be leaving in three days. I think somebody got $10,000, as opposed to $1,000 for each of them? Devens told us "kids ain't cheap" so that implies he got the $10k. And there were buttons on pedestals in various places around the house. They didn't know what any of it meant or when (or if) HOH comp will happen. Pharaoh's Curse sounds to me like fifth place might go out something like how Keanu did last year, which was via voodoo doll stabbings and the Mastermind guy, and no Julie. That happened on the Monday and aired Wednesday. Dee and Melody got to psst-pssting right away when the group broke up, with Dee saying she wants to work with Melody now. Later Taylor told Dee she'd given Yash a sympathy vote, and that Melody had been pushing to get the "icons" out.If you missed what came before, click 'previous Hamsterwatch episode' up top and/or use my season directory.
