Luggage showed up in the pantry for the nominees, making the inevitable that much more real for one of them. Dee and Devens again disgussed whether they should warn or blindside Drew and Barrett about Mallory going if she's up against Taylor. Dee changed here tune to say a blindside makes sense strategically, but it doesn't feel right. But they agreed they can blame it on everybody else. Haley joined them and was easily persuaded to switch from voting out Taylor no matter what to keeping her, and she gave her word. Angela carried through with her plan to make watercolors from M&M coatings and she painted a flamingo. Haley eliminated the entire blindside question by telling Drew she'll be evicting Mallory over Taylor. Devens told Drew "the last thing I want is to burn Barrett, and burn you." Crossovers attempted to meet multiple times but Haley continually showed up, or one of them was missing. Finally they managed to meet in the gym where Devens started explaining it to Drew and Barrett, with Dee piping up with questions as if she wasn't one of the architects. And she said "no way in hell if I have to break a tie, I'm not blindsiding you" and "my biggest concern is making sure we are all good" and she said she had acted a little selfishly this week but she had thought Drew was sketchy until the noms fight, and she'd taken all the heat for them for the Red Corner business. LaLa got to work making chicken buffalo dip for Have-nots later, Yash kept rapid-talking game plans to various non-vets, Angela gave her flamingo M&M painting to Mallory, and Mallory and Melody continued complaining and moping.More later If you missed what came before, click 'previous Hamsterwatch episode' up top and/or use my season directory. THANK YOU SO MUCH for reading the site, following me on Bluesky, and supporting me on Patreon or Ko-fi! Day 50 - Tuesday - August 25, 2026 They were locked inside this morning. The latest side game for us is watching to see if the wadded-up towel under the stairs has been picked up yet, along with the bucket there, unless that's for recycling or something. We know the towel's been there since Friday thanks to the fine detective work by @bbscreenshots.bsky.social, and @whitless256.bsky.social has been regularly updating its "still there" status.Dee told Haley this morning she did the mountain of dishes and cleaned the kitchen last night, and Haley said "it's very obvious" Taylor and LaLa aren't cooking and cleaning this week. Dee said they're Have-nots (also hello, Dee put them both on the block, and Taylor is still on it.) Haley said the bathroom and shower are disgusting and "Taylor didn't clean it Sunday," and Dee said "and she shouldn't." (Maybe Dee's finally getting tired of Haley's attitude about LaLa and Taylor? I'd like to think so.) Later Haley told Angela "[Taylor] had some pretty big balls to go sit everywhere I was yesterday. I feel if I tried to start something like that, I would have that uppity mentality of like, I'm untouchable at this point." Using the word "uppity" is more blatant than the things Haley has been saying so far, and using a word like that seems intentional. She's sending us back to the ugliness of the prior ugly seasons. In a programming note, I've added a couple changes to the schedule exceptions list above. This Sunday's show moves to 9pm, following a special/tribute to Dolly Parton at 8pm. And Thursday's 90-minute 1000th episode cavalcade of hamster history extravaganza will repeat on Saturday. Following a casual chat about Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, and realizing it's Day 50, Barrett arranged some Walter White birthday bacon. I don't know what prompted it but at one point Barrett said "who here knows somebody who has attracted rabies?" I don't know his context and it's probably unrelated, but we know he reads this site and I'd like to think he was referring to my use of the word "rabies" to describe parts of the fanbase, for years. Meaning, when normally rational people turn vicious and hostile about this show, and it's highly contagious. And if so, the answer is a resounding yes: a number of them have attracted rabies. Whew.Game-wise, Yash counselled Drew for a long time last night, telling him to generally calm down and also "don't be a Vince" by being spineless. Various campaign talks happened through the day by Mallory and Taylor, and a little by Drew. They weren't necessarily good or effective talks, but it's better than doing nothing. Apologies, but I had some other things going on and dropped the ball today and I don't have much more to report. I believe the biggest item today is Dee and Devens agreed to blindside Barrett and Drew, if Drew wins the Block Buster on Thursday. Mallory will go home if the vote is her versus Taylor, and the vets were going to pre-warn Barrett and Drew about that, but they decided not to for a number of convoluted Reasons I didn't keep up with. Mallory and Melody continued kicking themselves for throwing the HOH comp. LaLa said she'll start cooking and cleaning again after Wednesday when she comes off Have-not, but I hope she doesn't. She has no obligation to look after a bunch of grown adults even if they do act like babies, and doubly so since since most of them are so malicious about her. Taylor told Yash she has Drew's hair brush and she said she might stash it in his suitcase when they pack tomorrow. If you missed what came before, click 'previous Hamsterwatch episode' up top and/or use my season directory. THANK YOU SO MUCH for reading the site, following me on Bluesky, and supporting me on Patreon or Ko-fi! Day 49 - Monday - August 24, 2026 They had an early 8am wakeup again, and most gathered for backyard coffee as if they're all still a happy family, to discuss hurricanes, armadillos, and sex toys. LaLa visited Dee in HOH and they agreed the FAP foursome has to be broken up. Dee said Mallory's her new target rather than Drew, and LaLa said Mallory screamed so loud in Diary yesterday, she could be heard from within the house. Devens pitched the idea of booting Mallory instead of Taylor to Drew, who talked like he was fine with that. Dee and Devens met for quick retells and agreed it would be bad if Mallory wins Block Buster because she'll be gunning hard for them, especially Dee, but alternately Taylor would be gone and they said that would be a plus. Barrett and Yash had a casual conversation, which seemed to me like they were feeling each other out as far as teaming up. Yash was a little more forthcoming with what's-going-on theories than Barrett, but that made sense as Barrett's much more deeply embedded in the current mess. LaLa was more direct: she approached Barrett to ask if he wants to work with her and he said yes. They sealed that with an extended hug and a high five. A bit later, Dee sat down with Barrett to hold hands and say she's sorry for how things turned out this week, and she got a little pouty to point out he hadn't even gone outside to sit with her this morning. They parted with more hand-holding and another overlong extended hug. Much later, LaLa and Devens also agreed to work together. Mallory complained a lot but never went to talk to Dee. It probably would have been pointless but it would have been nice to see a little effort. LaLa used her veto on herself of course, and Dee put up Mallory in her place as planned. Mallory wore her unicorn jammies to the veto meeting, also as planned. She was miserable afterwards: even though she'd found out last night it would happen, everything hits different when it becomes real. Afternoon was a lot of laying around, snacking, napping, griping, and not much else.![]() Melody had a full-out sobfest when she called her mom on the non-functional phone, tears all over her face. Drew came along and asked "is that your mom?" (It always is.) And then he asked "why is your mascara messed up?" Several rants later, Melody said "I hope someone makes dinner." I think she or Drew eventually managed to throw some ramen into water so they wouldn't completely waste away waiting to be served. Later Dee and Haley got lessons in chicken and salmon from Yash and Angela, and they produced some (mostly) edible food. Barrett and Drew backtracked on their decision the other night to stick with FAP and aim for the vets. Tonight Drew said "Crossovers might be the way to go" and Barrett more or less agreed, saying the vets are "forcing their hands at every turn, and there's no way out." My attention's wavered a lot recently but I've missed any forcing? I haven't seen coercion, blackmail, torture, or kidnapping, just a couple guys willingly doing whatever their idols suggested, and lying to their friends about it. Feeds were down as much or more than they were up through the evening so I'm clocking out early. Again.
