Paloma approached Michael to invite him into her Mamba alliance (Ameerah, Alyssa, Kyle, Monte, Paloma, Pooch), with Michael as the sixth, replacing Pooch. Afterwards Michael paced in the pantry, realizing he'd be in sixth place, saying "no, absolutely not" and "I will use this to my advantage," with a throat-slashing gesture. They found NOMINATIONS TODAY notice on their screen and informal voluntary HOH meetings started to happen.Monte, Pooch, Joseph met with Daniel to agree that comp-threat big guy types shouldn't go up, and Joseph leaned hard on the bro-code loyalty angle. Daniel told himself/us he wanted to trust them, and he really wanted to put up Michael, adding "I would backdoor the fuck out of Michael, that's for sure." He said he can't use Michael not talking game with him, or being last to do so, as a Reason since he lied and told Michael last night that nobody else had. Nicole and Daniel's Rogue Rats F2 seems legit and solid as of now, since Daniel told her his noms plan and said "I don't give a fuck we're tall strong males" about the brojocks, adding that he's just playing that angle with them. He said he'll use not much gametalk as his Reason for putting up Michael but that really it's because he's a superfan and a "potential manipulator." He also said Michael's social awkwardness could be part of his master plan (no, Michael has clearly not been faking that). Nicole pointed out Taylor could be a strong ally for them since she has nobody else, and she did some BB math about this first vote. Daniel said they hadn't talked game but he vibes with her, and Nicole said Taylor said she had talked game with Daniel. Other meetings followed with the usual blah-blah-blah "as long as it isn't me" loops. Daniel nominated Terrance and Michael, as vaguely planned, and apparently he had trouble delivering his lines. He used his well-planned Reason of not enough gametalk, which Michael later said confused him since they had talked, but Daniel said everyone else had come back for another round today and Michael didn't. The nominations seemed to snap Michael out of his social slump and his get-around game improved almost instantly, so it might be the best thing that could have happened to him - if he ends up staying. They know veto is still to come but none of them (or us) know how the Backstage thing will play out, so there's been a lot of speculation about that. Personally, I hope both of today's nominees end up staying somehow, and I know a lot of others feel the same. Fingers crossed. Family dinner for most was followed by a group discussion with all of them sharing favorite colors, and then a gratefulness circle. Several of them got emotional for their turns, and feeds were cut for portions of a few including Turner and Michael - maybe because some or all of their people didn't sign releases. Earlier today Paloma told Ameerah they're set up well for a partner/pawn plan with their various alliances and sides getting locked in. I don't think she credited BB23 Tiffany for the idea, but later he did refer to it as "last year's buddy system" so she's not taking credit for coming up with it. Paloma also compared herself to Janelle at one point. Alyssa and Turner agreed to work together but after Paloma announced her Cookout-esque plan, a lot of these new deals with her and her cronies could be fake/side/pawn deals. The rest of the evening was a lot of chit-chat, group convos, Taylor bashing, alliance planning, preliminary vote talks, and the usual hamster topics of conversation. Huge thanks to everyone who has or will get their feeds through me, and/or has or will make donations! Day 2 - Thursday, July 7, 2022They got the backyard for a couple hours, which they appreciated. Pooch was the first in the pool, and quite a few others also went in. This group continues to herd in groups large and small, and much of the talk is still let-me-tell-you-about-me stuff using their best job interview/first date voices. Pooch remained very busy getting around and recruiting people, mostly guys, into alliances, but several others also did some gametalking and premature allying. Daniel didn't hold meetings (yet?) but Ameerah initiated the first gametalk of the day with him.Michael remained outside most convos and seemed uncomfortable much of the day. I think he was probably expecting/hoping for HOH one-on-ones but Daniel hadn't done those, and might not. Unfortunately for Michael, it seemed like that lack of getaround and socializing may end up with him on the block. Terrance said he felt like he didn't fit in and was nervous about noms, but most of them seem to like him a lot and Daniel had said he didn't want to put him up. And Brittany had a gametalk with Terrance, so he's not completely out of the loop(s). Several of the girls continued griping about Taylor and if she was aware of that, she didn't let on. They have a pool table in the yard as usual but also bumper pool inside at the skybridge lounge area, so if they start up pool tournaments, they might be never-ending. Taylor played pool with the guys outside for awhile, and I'm sure her detractors noticed that. The official water bottles/sippy cups arrived and were passed around. Turner and Pooch (heh) and Daniel agreed to be the "first alliance" (actually the tenth or so). I guess Turner told them he's an artist, but he announced a confession to them (à la Frankie) that he also owns a thrift shop, and that Turner is actually his last name. Apparently Daniel, Michael, Ameerah are aware they are all "superfans" but I don't think that's being shared wide (yet), and I don't think they're aware Brittany also knows her BB stuff. Final twos so far include Alyssa/Paloma, Turner/Brittany, Daniel/Nicole (Rogue Rats), Kyle/Pooch (Blue Eyed Bash Brothers). Some of them are planning to build bigger alliances around their duos, and some group alliances have already formed. @89razorskate20 and @Dolffica will help us all keep the alliances sorted out but it's all forming like primordial goo for now, so be patient. Overall it was a rather dull day, surprisingly so for the first full day. The get-to-know-you stuff raged on but some of them started to relax a bit. Pooch complained of being tired and said he didn't want to have to make any more decisions. His only decision was picking three people over 24 hours earlier; running himself ragged last night and today was his own doing. Dinner was tacos for most and slop for the rest. The dining table has a swimming pool design, complete with tiny furniture and duckies - yet another pool table? Sorry. Michael finally had a chat/gametalk, with Brittany, and both of them agreed they prefer one-on-ones to group convos. Michael saId he was concerned nobody's approached him to talk game (go approach them!) and he was worried gametalk was going on without him. But they agreed there probably wasn't much gametalk happening, and that the Backstage twist being a mystery had people hesitant. Brittany pitched the idea of the two of them working with Daniel and Turner, unaware that Turner has been pushing Michael to Daniel as a good nominee choice. Later a number of them gathered around the table for a group chat, with Michael participating, so that was good to see. Michael asked Daniel for a chat later and Daniel agreed, but it hasn't happened as of 1am BB time. Paloma did join Daniel in HOH to say she'd be the voice of the girls, Taylor can't be trusted, and Palomasplaining most everyone else. Jasmine followed her to chat with Daniel, saying she'd like him and Paloma to stick around all summer, if it was up to her. I guess they realized noms are probably tomorrow and maybe they should get busy and start playing BB. Day 1 - Wednesday, July 6, 2022 - PremiereIt was a complex, chaotic, and confusing premiere but I'll post what I was able to pick up. Move-in groups were Jasmine, Kyle, Paloma, Monte (Kyle was first to enter - sorry, dude); Alyssa, Daniel, Taylor, Michael; Nicole, Turner, Joseph, Brittany; Pooch, Ameerah, Terrance, Indy. Everyone in each group was instructed to pick up a "fest ticket" at one of the "fest stations" in the house and take it to the backyard where they put it into the "fest scanner" to determine which preliminary comp they'd play in. The winner of each comp would advance to play for HOH.Pooch got Backstage Boss, meaning he'll have first week immunity, he won't play in any comps this week, he won't vote this week, but he can play for HOH next week. Port-a-potty tickets went to Potty Talk comp: how many times were the numbers 1, 2, 3 said in audio clips, with Paloma, Jasmine, Monte, Kyle, Nicole competing. Each round's elimination got slimed (and in their move-in clothes!) Monte won. Piercing tent tickets went to Piercing Panic comp: attach ten pieces of jewelry to the proper designated places on their faces. Taylor, Brittany, Turner, Terrance, Joseph competed, and Turner won. Merch tickets went to Hanging Tough comp: hang onto a t-shirt prop as it's raised off the ground. Ameerah, Indy, Daniel, Alyssa, Michael competed and Daniel won. HOH comp was Drumming for Power between Daniel, Turner, Monte. They had to unpack a road case and assemble a drum set out of the puzzle pieces. Daniel won the first HOH of the season. Backstage Boss Pooch was shown short intro videos of everyone and had to pick three for Backstage Pass, meaning they also won't compete or vote this week, and they can't be nominated but they aren't guaranteed safety from eviction. He picked Paloma, Alyssa, Brittany who placed last in each of the three preliminary comps. Julie told us a viewer vote was opening to select one of those three to be safe from eviction next Thursday. The vote info is on the left sidebar, as always. Feeds started right on time, yay! Pooch had a BACKSTAGE BOSS shirt and Alyssa, Brittany, Paloma had BACKSTAGE shirts. Daniel read his card announcing Have-nots and that he'd pick them. Joseph, Kyle, Michael, Monte volunteered, they got their slop and shower instructions, and everyone trooped upstairs to discover the Have-not room was pool floaties and crappy lawn furniture. All 16 of them held crosstalk get-to-know-you convos that were hard to follow, and later they trooped upstairs again to see the HOH room. Daniel knew he wouldn't get a letter but he was happy with his goodies, wine, and Tame Impala. Pooch loosely pitched a guys' alliance to Monte with Kyle and maybe Joseph, but he said he wasn't sure about Joseph. Joseph was already obsessing about food an hour after going on slop. Indy stayed behind after the HOH gathering to chat with Daniel, who later talked about his Elvising and how he got into it. Guys tended to herd together a lot, like they do, but we aren't giving up on the women yet. Later Paloma and Alyssa made a Final 2 deal, and discussed bringing in up to five others for a big alliance. Brittany and Alyssa showed a lot of promise for being highly gif-able. I know this isn't a lot of detail but it's a lot to absorb on opening night. Annual reminder that it's a marathon, not a sprint, and it looks like a promising cast. Time will tell.
