Day 48 - Monday 8/5/19

Jack had another visit from his angry alien Allen around 5am, shortly after Jackson prepared and ate one of his overnight meals. Jack retold to Tommy, Cliff, Analyse over coffee and cereal. He said he had to go around and tuck everyone into their beds, scrub the toilet, sweep the floors, then sweep them again after Allen tossed out some baby powder. After that Jack had to take a swim and paddle the pool canoe. Allen left, then returned for the last time a little later, and had Jack make him a sandwich and pack a lunch for his journey. He smashed some fruit that Jack cleaned up, then he dumped highly sugared and creamed coffee before he finally went on his way. Jack also told Analyse some of his campaign plans for the week, adding he didn't know what kind of deal he should offer Cliff (but it won't matter as Cliff has sworn repeatedly he'll evict Jack even if he's the only one to do so). When Christie joined them, a bird pooped on her, and she started her typical pre-veto meeting "what if I'm going up" panic/drama loops. Tommy announced he hadn't pooped in three days.

Jessica did not use her veto, Jack and Jackson remained on the block, and Christie's power has (finally) expired, unused.

The former Six all ended up in Camp Have-not (aka Jackson's isolation chamber, which he's calling his office and Holly's calling Leper Lounge), with Jack issuing a formal apology to Jackson, and Jackson replying "it's a shame because you turned on somebody who would have died for in this game." There was a very lot of talk about learning the truth later, particularly from Christie (who's lied more than any of them), and the meeting broke up with a bizarre onion analogy by Holly (see Lines of the Day below), and Jack carrying on his Apology and Humility Tour, as Cliff called it. Kat was perturbed at the six of them meeting behind closed doors again, which Analyse griped about. Cliff said "welcome to Big Brother" and Jack told her it was understandable as the last time all six met it was to try to get Kat evicted. Tommy then went on his own apology tour about the meeting, Analyse announced to Tommy and Nick that she was "fucking done gaming," and Jack ran his proposed Cliff pitch for Tommy, saying he'll offer three (or four) evictions safety, with conditions for each, but he said he won't do it for awhile, so Jackson can't get in there with a counter-offer.

Tommy had a misfire on one of his speed of light rounds, when one of his skirt bits got stuck in a door. Jack's apology tour continued with a rehash to Jessica, which included him saying "I've never felt this feeling" and how he'd been with the numbers early on and she was on the outside, but now she's with the numbers and he's on the outside. He added "I never understood what that felt like or how that feels to be treated that way" and "it's not fair to not commmunicate." To her credit, Jessica did not respond with any "cry me a river" or tiny violin/tinkly piano jokes, and instead conversed sincerely and at length about relationships in there, like she does. She also said it didn't look like he was open to working with anyone else in there (which probably gave him ideas for future rounds). Christie kept up her yack-yack here and there, endlessly rehashing and spouting about her honesty. Kat also rehashed a lot and told Holly she was done with Tommy, in part because his apology tour was a pack of transparent lies, and they agreed both he and Christie had to go.

Feeds went down for Jackson's alien doctor task around 6pm, for a half hour or so. When they came back, Jackson was wearing an Area 21 labcoat spattered with paint, shirt and tie, glasses, and trousers. He was washing his hair in the bathroom sink, and afterwards said his alien doctor pants were too tight and he wasn't wearing underwear. That's all I heard about his task. There was another round of extended fishies an hour or so later and Jackson had green paint or slime added to his labcoat, and he was complaining of sinus pressure - slime up his nose, maybe. It will probably become clearer later.

I've got an emergency situation underway so that's probably it for me today.

Day 49 - Tuesday 8/6/19

Tommy got a signal for a speed of sound round last night and trotted through the habitat hollering and tooting his air horns. It turned out Holly and Jackson were getting busy in their isolation chamber at the time. Of course they heard Tommy coming and when he entered the room, Jackson had jumped up and had his doctor pants half on, and Holly stayed undercovers. Tommy immediately realized the situation, did his hollering and tooting, apologized, and trotted off. Retells ensued all over, along with many laughs.

Also last night, Jackson told Cliff he was debating whether to out some lie(s) of Jack's in his speech or not. He didn't tell Cliff what that was about, only that someone else in there was involved. I guess Jackson's alien doctor slimings kept up through the night, and only Cliff went out with him every time. Holly said Jackson had been called out/slimed 13 times (as of 11am), while Jack had only six visits from Allen. It's disappointing these things are blocked from feeds (even if understandable due to contracts and onscreen time for visitors) but that generates little to no interest in these tasks, for me, like Diary voices. In related news, Jackson retold some of the lines Diary had given him to say about his task. Holly talked about running into BB18 Corey (Goat Corey) several times, and said they have mutual "close friends."

A slowish, chit-chat day kicked back into gametalk mid-afternoon. Jack, Christie, Tommy had an anti-Kat meeting, bashing her for playing both sides. Jack said he'd been planning to save it for his speech but then said maybe "let's muddy the water now." Nick joined to brainstorm ways Jack could stay, and they agreed Kat knew what the Six had been up to all along. They decided they could blackmail Kat to get her vote or they'd threaten to spill that she'd been a mole for them, and she knew about the vote flip that evicted Cliff. Christie said she also had dirt on Jessica. Meanwhile Holly told Jessica she thought Jack knew he's going, but Analyse and Tommy were fighting for him to stay, and they agreed Nick wanted to step into Jack's spot with that side when Jack goes.

The Kat calling out was tentatively scheduled for tomorrow morning. Jackson's task ended around 5pm, and he was finally reunited with his beloved watermelon. He told Holly he'd decided not to put out the story that Jack and Christie were exes because there were too many ways it could backfire, especially after what happened last Thursday when he said Kat and Holly knew each other. Nick said if Jack goes, he'd like a foursome with Analyse, Tommy, Nicole, and maybe Holly. Mission Control calls for Tommy's light/sound/smell rounds slowed down significantly. Kat told Jackson and Holly that Jackson should be safe but everyone was saying they would decide their votes at the last minute. She also told them she'd been lying to the other side, in case they hear stories about her. Kat suggested Holly infiltrate the other side but Holly said she didn't want to get caught doing that. The three of them did some Christie bashing, Holly said she was annoyed at Tommy telling everyone about busting them having sex (even though Jackson told as many people), and Holly went on a major anti-Christie rant to Kat about her taking over cooking, taking over convos, running her minions, and her chewing.

They did their usual taco Tuesday family dinner, and revived the gratitude circle plus table banging. Everyone gave a nice little speech and when they finished, BB ran the announcement that says something about having a good day "because these are the good old days." Most of them cried, and they all stood up and hugged each other, including the Jacks. Afterwards they scattered to their corners, some got back to scheming, and Nicole laid on the hammock to talk to her family and friends, and she wished luck and success to her students starting kindergarten. Cliff did a hammock sneakup on her, then she cried for a little while, and then Jack joined her, she cried some more, and then they talked for a very long time about birds, tv shows, various other topics. Jack didn't blatantly campaign but he might as well have, it was that transparent. You couldn't help but remember when he said girls like Nicole don't usually get to talk to guys like him.

Holly made up a song with a line about each of them and she asked Tommy for help with it, and she also talked about a possible future talent show, so we have that to look forward to (or dread, depending on your perspective). Nick pledged loyalty to Analyse if Jack goes, along with Tommy, Christie, Nicole. I don't know how he figured Nicole for that group but he did. Jack joined them and they talked about the strategy for tomorrow to blackmail Kat. Jack said he wanted to tell Jessica he has some intel he doesn't want to use, before he talks to Kat, unless he talks to Kat first and hopes he gets to Jessica before Kat does. They made it more complex and confusing than it had to be, and later he ran it all past Christie and then Tommy. With any luck we'll end up with some good feeds tomorrow. Jackson made an angsty pitch to Tommy, with Holly present, about how he'd never gone against the Six and blah blah blah - pointless as Tommy will never vote against Jack. Cliff eavesdropped on part of that, and that was fun since they were in the lounge, where Christie had eavesdropped on him.

Day 50 - Wednesday 8/7/19

They started their day gradually, like they do, starting up the gossip, kumbaya, and future backstab plans over coffee. We also waited with our coffee, impatiently, for Jack to kick his blackmail plan into gear (and likely/hopefully fail spectacularly). They were locked inside early this morning for comp builds for their HOH comp and probably the field trip comp also, as that will likely happen Friday to air on Sunday's show. They haven't speculated at all about something like that - their only curiosity is whether tomorrow will be a double eviction or not - it's not.

Unfortunately our hopes went down in flames when Jack told his teamies he'd decided to just do general campaigning today and drop his blackmail bomb tomorrow. I'm not sure but I think this decision came about after a Diary session. Jack and Jackson then met in the lounge, with Jackson running Jack's list of crimes and playing his tiny violin for all it was worth: "you were quick to turn man, it was fuckin heartbreaking," and he said they'll find out after the show if he (Jackson) was right or wrong about Christie. He also said he'd heard "the slander and shit talking" about him, and he said he was going to go "a different direction" in his speech but changed his mind, but "it was fuckin gold." Jack acknowledged he'd screwed up twice, but still professed loyalty. They said they'll still be boys after the show, and agreed if tomorrow was a double and they both went to jury together, they'd have a great time. Tommy started taking 15 minute breaks from his heavy helmet, which was allowed from the start but he said he'd wanted to do the task as assigned.

Jackson set off on generic one-on-one campaign rounds that were short and basic, until he got to Christie. She cried, she ranted, she cried some more, they rehashed and apologized, and swore their love for each other. Jackson said repeatedly he was worried about his reputation out here because of the "disrespectful to women" words that had been said, and how he didn't want "the nation" or "11 million people" to think that about him. He's got a big storm coming, as the gif says. Christie said she'd stand up for him out here if there are repercussions from anything she said. Both of them are clearly oblivious to how they've come across because of their own words and actions. On the good news front, Jack rescheduled his blackmail scheme again, to tonight after dinner. But later he told Tommy, Analyse, Christie that his plan "has gaps" so it might not happen at all now. Stay tuned.

Jack made his pitch to Cliff, without any Kat references. He offered Cliff safety for four evictions from himself and three from Tommy and Analyse (and maybe Christie), or four evictions safety from all three if Cliff reciprocates for Jack. Cliff said he'll let him know at noon tomorrow, and Jack reported to his teamies he thought Cliff would take the deal. (Reminder, Cliff has repeatedly sworn to evict Jack even if he's the only one to do so.) Jackson then met with Cliff, who said they're good, and Jackson will stay. Cliff then reported both talks to Nicole, who was stunned at the terms of Jack's deal, and Cliff said "I'm not doing it." Meanwhile Kat mentioned the Branch Davidians in Waco, and Christie piped up "Jim Jones!" and said she'd seen a movie [about Jonestown]. Kat said yep that's him, and together they agreed Jim Jones got all those people to drink cyanide in Waco. Nick agreed, and Tommy didn't seem to have heard of either event. Things got even more ridiculous as Jack campaigned to Holly and Jackson to Tommy, at the same time. Nick continued pledging loyalty to both Jack, Tommy, Analyse and Nicole, Jessica, Cliff. Jack told Cliff about his plan to blackmail Kat.

Feeds went down around 6pm for a couple hours for their halfway party. They had a little booze, probably pizza, and the now traditional chocolate photo cake. Cliff and Nick discussed Jack's blackmail plan, with Cliff saying Jack had actually called it blackmail, and he wondered if he should warn Kat and Jessica before Jack got to them. Nick said that would make Cliff a target later, then he told Jack, who said "FUCK maybe telling him was the wrong thing." A little later Jack told Cliff and Nick he wouldn't say anything to Kat tonight, and he went back to his generic campaign meetings. He had a chat with Nicole, apologizing to her, and then he had one with Kat. Rather than dropping his dumb blackmail plan (that would have guaranteed fun feeds one way or another), he heard her talk about having heard about the Six reforming with Nick and Cliff at the bottom, and about her loyalty, as well as the campaign offers he'd made to Cliff, and she questioned how he could promise multiple weeks of safety to anyone. Jack later told Tommy he might try the blackmail plan tomorrow, after he hears from Cliff, and he said he thought Cliff will take his deal, but maybe he'd offer five evictions to ensure that.

Jessica, Kat, Cliff, Holly, Jackson hung out in HOH and compared some notes of the day. Holly was perturbed to hear about a new Six plan that didn't include her and Jackson, and Cliff told Kat that Jack had "some plan to upset you or put you at odds with us or something, threaten to tell people some story." She wondered what kind of dirt Jack had on her and said it was probably something about the first week (maybe she thought it was about her and Jackson). Cliff said he didn't know and didn't care, as it wouldn't change anything in his mind, and Tommy arrived at that point to put an end to that discussion, for now. Jack said his plan for tomorrow is to "talk to Cliff, and then bury Kat." His track record isn't great for these threats and it very likely might never happen. You have to wonder though, why he hasn't realized that everyone telling him they haven't decided their vote yet means he's toast, since that's the line he and his teamies gave all the prior evictees. Later Cliff told Kat, Jessica, Nicole that Jack's plan was to threaten to out Kat knowing about the Cliff vote flip. Jessica and Nicole said they already knew that, big deal, and Kat said sarcastically "please no Jack, please no." Then they compared and laughed about Jack's pitches to them, and Nicole and Kat noted they didn't get any deals like Cliff had. Later still, they told Jackson and Holly about Jack's blackmail plot, and Jackson said that was a little firecracker, he's got an atom bomb. He said he was still undecided whether to use it or not (this was probably about his story/lie that Jack and Christie are exes).

He was the first outsider to learn the Eight (and the Six) were things, and he seemed content to be their ninth (and seventh) rather than taking that info to the rest of the strays so they could organize and counter. He started strong, winning the first two vetos, but his luck went downhill after that. He planned a nominee speech outing Christie's shady dealings but he blabbed and it got back to Christie and the rest. But that then led to the huge fight before his eviction show that tore the Jacks apart and blew up the Six, so kudos for that. Never mind he could have used that mess to his advantage and maybe stayed. He was a DIARY SHOUTER, he had lots of goofy (sometimes inappropriate) stories, and he was liked by most, most of the time.

Won: Nothing
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/1 - HN 0

She seemed promising in her pre-season interviews but it turned out she hadn't really done the homework recruits should do, and she was quickly in over her head. She blabbed about most every convo she had, and she blew up alliances almost as soon as they were formed. But along the way she mixed and drank gross concoctions including hot dog water and mayo, she told some funny stories and some sad ones, and she and Nick fell in love (once she finally got him to stop lusting for Analyse).

Won: Revival to Camp Comeback Day 23
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 0

She was targeted by Jack and Jackson for no reason we know of, other than naming them as potential nominees in the first days. From then on they were obsessed with her, spreading that obsessive hate to their teamies, and it was so stupid it would have been comical if it weren't so ugly. She kept it classy despite all that, and it's good she had Nicole as a sounding board (and genuine friend) to vent her frustrations. I just wish she and Kat didn't hate each other as they would have made a superb comedy duo.

Won: Whacktivity 1 Nightmare (unused); Revival to Camp Comeback Day 15
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/1 - HN 0

He was a prime example of BB book smarts not necessarily equating to BB street smarts, and he didn't help himself any by being too loud and busy, nor by snitching on alliances to those same alliance members. Analyse accused him of being creepy with her but there was no evidence of that. He's done great things out here and will undoubtedly do more, so it was probably for the best that he got out of that snakepit sooner than later.

Won: First 2 weeks in sequester; Revival to Camp Comeback Day 15
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0 - HN 0

He got the rawest of BB deals, the first night boot, and then he was locked in a hotel room for two more weeks. He showed a quick and accurate read on everything when he re-entered the habitat and was probably the only one of the Comebackers with potential to do some real damage if he'd won the comp to re-enter the game, but it wasn't to be. His and Kat's flirtation was fun to watch. He could and should have been a contender but instead he got the boot twice, and without any noms or votes to evict.

Big Brother 21 SEASON FAQ
Day 1 Move-in was June 19
Day 7 CBS premiere was June 25
Day 8 Feeds began June 26
Day 99 Finale is September 25

Feeds are streamed by CBS, and Flashback is accessible via All Access subscription. Call 888-274-5343 for account help, including cancellation.

*Effective July 10* Air shows on CBS (Global in Canada) are Sundays 8pm, Wednesdays 9pm, eviction Thursdays 9pm.

Big Brother After Dark on Pop TV will be every night midnight to 3am (an hour later on Wednesdays and Thursdays). The aired blocks are live (or recorded earlier the same night, depending on your cable provider).

The CBS app (by CBS Interactive) plays BB air shows and other CBS shows, as well as feeds, or you can use your browser to watch feeds on mobile devices. The same All Access link used to subscribe will lead to the feeds viewing page if you're already signed up.

BB21 finalist prizes are the same: $500k for the winner and (probably still) $50k for 2nd place. Stipend for the others to be confirmed if/when they mention it on feeds. Top finishers get bonuses again this season, amounts to be confirmed.

The habitat has 94 HD cameras (no change) and 113 microphones (no change).

The recorded in-house announcements are the voice of producer Don Wollman. He and Julie Chen are the only staffers who have been there since Big Brother 1.
