With today's steps he said "it's Jack Day!" and "props to Jessica, she did what I couldn't do," as well as "if it doesn't work, it doesn't work - if it doesn't work, I'm getting played by so many people, but it's Jaaaack Day! I love this game!" Tommy then asked him for a heads up about his vote, which Cliff agreed to, and then Tommy reported to Jack. Holly may have told Kat about Jackson's bomb/lie about Jack and Christie being exes (it was hard to hear), and they all wished Tommy a happy 29th birthday. Jack approached Cliff in the HOH shower (not like that) and said he thinks Cliff will be the swing vote and if Jack goes, an "all girls alliance" could happen, and they'll still check in later for Cliff to give Jack his decision whether he'll take his deal or not. Jack and Jackson had a pantry meeting (drink!) Jack said he'd never said Jackson's evil, and they did an "it's all good" bro-hug.Jack met with Cliff after HOH lockdown to offer "a final play" and he told his Kat blackmail plan, but said he probably wouldn't confront her with it, but Cliff could if he wanted to. Cliff basically said nah, and said he couldn't vote for him because he was "too afraid of his game," and that he had too much respect for him to blindside him with his vote. Jack reported that to Nick, and then he finally approached Kat about how she'd known about the vote flip that evicted Cliff. She said "how is that relevant to what's going on now?" and Jack hinted he might tell Jessica, or that Jackson might. Acting up a storm, she said she'd kind of forgotten about all that, and she feigned total shock and confusion when Jack said he wasn't getting Cliff's vote. Jack said he was "giving her the entire game on a platter" by offering her fifth (or sixth) place with him, Christie, Tommy, Analyse (and/or Nick). She pointed out that didn't sound too great for her, and also "I didn't know my vote counted this much, so now I'm a little bit nervous." It was a hilariously good time, knowing Kat was prepped and ready for it and Jack was clueless, and it got even better when she wrapped it up by saying "it's tricky.. also I have to go do my hair." Kat reported to Nicole and they pinkyswore they were both still evicting Jack, and Cliff reported to Tommy, Analyse plus Jack what he'd told Jack. Analyse cussed him out after he left, and Tommy reminded Jack that Jessica could break a tie (he'd been saying she didn't matter). They decided Nick, Cliff, Holly, Jackson had been playing both sides from the start, and Jack said "I'm fuckin leaving because I don't play fuckin both sides! Bunch of liars and fuckin cheats!" Welcome to Big Brother. #JackEvictionParty was trending top five USA on Twitter for at least an hour before the show started. When the show did start, it kicked off with Jackson's alien autopsy slimings and Allen the angry alien harassing Jack. Allen was indeed played by Chris DeJoseph, the guy who was Rachel's yeller and Brett's granny last year, and he was superb. He had Jack clean the toilet and spent most of his time making messes for Jack to clean up. At the end they had a big hug and high five, and a dual Diary with Allen saying "I HATE HIM!" Recaps included the Six breaking up in Camp Have-not, and some Godfather music and a #Hoggfather tag for Jack campaigning to Cliff, but omitted Jack's failed blackmail scheme. Jack was evicted 6-2, with Analyse and Christie the dissenters. Julie asked him about Jackson and their bromance, and then she threw him on the grill. She asked about, and then played clips of some of his nasty comments about Kemi, and then she played him the "rice pudding" convo. He sidestepped and claimed his Kemi comments were because she didn't like his cooking, "stomp a mudhole" was quoting BB20 Sam and it was "playful for a group of people," and "rice pudding" referred to an earlier generic pudding convo. (Sure, Jack.) He wasn't as shocked as BB15 Aaryn was when Julie grilled her, but we know both Jacks had been given heads up about their problematic behavior. Then Julie blew it (in my opinion) by saying "we didn't 'gyp' you out of your goodbye messages" and said he'll see them later in her extended interview. ("Gyp" stems from an ethnically derogatory term used to stereotype Gypsies [Romani]. This reminded me of a segment on The Talk after Aaryn's eviction when Julie referred to Helen, one of Aaryn's targets, as Chinese-American, but Helen was Korean-American. If you're going to grill someone, 1) be accurate and 2) don't add fuel to the dumpster fire.) The HOH comp was Time Me a River, where they had to scuttle down a slippery slope on a kayak and try to cross the finish line in as close to nine seconds as possible. Over or under didn't matter (rare!) and the order and time differentials in seconds were Cliff 0.70, Christie 0.19, Tommy 0.10, Nicole 1.20, Jackson 0.39, Kat 2.29, Analyse 0.14, Holly 1.07, Nick 0.82, meaning Tommy won, on his birthday, and in a costume. Kat and Nick were the loudest and/or most entertaining about their runs, depending on your perspective. Julie said the Field Trip comp would be on Sunday's show (it will likely take place early Friday), Wednesday's show will be back to 8pm, and next Thursday is again not a double. When feeds came back, Tommy told Christie and Analyse he didn't want to state any plans out loud yet and wanted to talk to everybody, and later he told Analyse he'd tell only her what he plans to do. Kat got in with an early meeting, as did Jackson. Tommy told Jackson he had a target in mind but again, he wasn't going to say any names until he talked to everyone. Jackson said he'd understand if he goes up as a pawn, and Tommy said if he does go up it would be as a pawn. Holly then talked to Tommy. Tommy got his room just before 11pm, with new sunglasses, a pink bandana, his brother's pajama pants, two bottles of wine, music by Ed Sheeran, and a letter from mom and dad, along the usual ginormous assortment of cereal, cookies, and candy. Everyone ooh'd and ahh'd over his pics, and Christie made a lot of jokes? cracks? asking if his aunts are single and do they like girls. She looked wistfully at them here and there, and she almost seemed to take ownership when showing them to others. Tommy got a speed of smell alert not long after the letter-reading, making him probably the first HOH to leave the room first. Christie, Analyse, Kat had made a cake for Tommy's birthday, and they frosted and decorated it with Holly and Jackson's assistance/supervision as Tommy finished his smell rounds and chatted. They brought it downstairs and everyone gathered to sing Happy Birthday yet again. Tommy said it was the best birthday and he'd never forget it. Tommy met with Christie and told her he wants to put up Cliff and Kat, with Kat his target, and Nicole as renom if needed. He also said he wanted he didn't think Jessica was close with them, and he wanted to try to get close to her this week. He said he thought Kat was the dotted line connecting various factions, and also that "Nick is building an army." He said he thought Nick, Nicole, Kat, Cliff have a final four deal (that came from Jack), and he wanted Nick to have "nowhere to go but us." He also told her people see the two of them as a team/couple/threat, so they need to appear to be on opposite sides with different people, and that's why they voted different tonight. Christie said nobody's told her they're seen that way. They don't yet know about the Field Trip comp tomorrow and how it could derail a number of plans, but that's the status as of tonight anyway. Day 52 - Friday 8/9/19Analyse started the day by shaving her leggings, while leaning (she leans a lot). Meetings with Tommy carried on, with him being loving and diplomatic to all for the noms talks, and sharing his goodies for the social gatherings in his room. They all got a little wound up because NOMINATIONS TODAY hadn't appeared on their monitor by late morning, and they wondered if that meant a surprise eviction tonight (no). They didn't seem to have any idea a special comp was coming, even though there's usually a mid-season twist, and the HOH comp wrapped up last night so they need something to put on Sunday's show.Feeds went to puppies at 11.05am and were down four hours for their Field Trip comp. Jackson won and has immunity for the week, Analyse was second and will get a task or costume of some sort, and Christie lost and went on the block as a third nominee. Of course she sputtered and cried, and she alternated that with "things happen for a reason" and back to freaking out because she might be hated. They were told about the repercussions before competing, and that it was a viewer vote. The non-competitors got to watch the comp on a quads feed. Tommy said he'll probably stick with his original idea of Cliff and Kat for his noms, with Kat still his target. He kept up his announced pretense during pre-nom meetings about not being all that tied to Christie by saying he was sorry she was on the block, but here she was and that's the game, but he also asked several of them to take her down if they win veto, to "respect his noms." It sounded like if Christie does come down, there wouldn't be a renom for that third spot. Also, Tommy will draw two names to play for veto. Jackson and Holly celebrated in the pantry (drink!) where there were a whole lot of melons and produce lined up for him. Formerly non-problematic Nicole crossed that line (they all do eventually) when she and Jessica were trying to comfort Christie and discussing Jackson's ongoing concerns about his rep. Nicole said, re the viewer vote, "America likes drama" and Jessica said "it's like you can't win and you can't lose with them" (both accurate statements). Nicole then said "I know it's extremely cliché but who gives a crap what America thinks? We in this house know each other, we know our truth, and we know our love for each other. So I'm not gonna speak for everybody else but I love you [Christie] and that's one person, so even if America hates you, fuck America then, I love you." Of course people out here ran with that both in and out of context. I'm just glad she didn't go BB6 April's route with something like "if America really voted for [Janelle] then fans who watch this show are all pieces of shit." Analyse found out she'll be wearing a chicken suit for a week for finishing second in the comp. She was happy with it, from the fluffy tail to the chicken booties, and she apologized for shedding everywhere. She said she has to sleep in it, and of course wear it on next week's live show. They all said it could be much worse: she might have had to do something every hour, or a chicken dance on cue. It sounded like their comp was some variation of the one where they pass eggs through chicken wire. Feeds went back to kitties and puppies for nominations almost as soon as she debuted her suit. Tommy nominated Cliff and Kat, as planned. Kat cried during the ceremony and was still crying afterwards, with various others comforting her, and Christie cried, and everyone was pretty much miserable except Jackson and Holly. Tommy and Analyse did some food prep, with Analyse laughing periodically at different things and saying she was going to pee her pants. Cliff cracked chicken jokes. Jackson and Holly discussed the vote/comp situation and he announced "America does not like us." Frantic whisperings started up all over again, especially Nick with Christie (later joined by Analyse and Tommy), and Nicole with Kat (later joined by Cliff). There was a lot of what-if and if/when going on, and who did what and who'll vote whom, and a whole lot of revisionist history, and the usual yackety yack they'll redo all over after the veto comp anyway. Then they switched partners, and did it all again. Through it all, Christie ranted and cried at Jessica for a very, very long time. Nick told Nicole if she said he isn't her number one, he'd hit her and get evicted, and he'd kill her if she put him up next week. Nick also told Cliff he'd take him off if he wins veto if Cliff picks him to play with a Houseguest Choice, and Nick had a manic whisper with Analyse that I couldn't begin to follow. The rest of the night was more of the same: whispers and rants and tears, with eating along the way. Tommy did a trio of Mission Control rounds: one each light, sound, and smell. After the last one, he got an announcement that "his mission around the BB universe is now complete" and he shunned his suit. Later he, Christie, Analyse talked about the idea of putting up Holly as renom if needed, if Christie stays on the block (rather than his original plan of Nicole renom - that was before Christie went up). Day 53 - Saturday 8/10/19Cliff caught the edge of the raised living room platform with his sandal, breaking the floor and re-hurting his calf (along with his chances for the veto possibly, depending what it is). Jackson was drawn to play with Tommy and the nominees, and Christie picked Nick as Houseguest Choice. He'd promised to use it on both her and Cliff if either picked him and he wins. Tommy had told Analyse yesterday she could host if she wasn't picked. She reported being a little sore (she spent far more time upright yesterday than usual, maybe that took a toll.) Jackson told Holly he was going to try to win in order to keep noms the same and get Christie out, but then Analyse worked on them for quite awhile, urging Jackson to use it on Christie if he wins, and that the Five of them (with Tommy) should stick together "for now." Jackson finally said it went against all his instincts, but he finally agreed "fine!" Analyse swore she wouldn't say anything, but she told Christie while braiding her hair "he really wants to work with you again."Cliff had a very, very long monologue to himself, us, and his family that included studying, peptalking himself for the comp, missing his wife, praising his kids, saying the three who won (lost) the Field Trip vote weren't his favorites either, and dancing. A large group in HOH said he was studying the photo wall faces and Christie asked if she should be down there studying too. Kat visited Jackson in his shower office and he said his goal was to make sure Christie stayed on the block and went home. He said Kat had to make sure Jessica knew what Christie was up to, and Kat said "supposedly" she was in an alliance with Jessica, Nicole, Cliff so Jessica and Nicole would definitely evict Christie if noms stayed the same. Kat said she'd like to win but maybe it'd be better if Jackson did. Feeds were down from approx 3.30pm to 6pm and when they came back, Tommy had won the veto. It was OTEV with questions about the season's comps, with water, mud, and "pigeon poop." Jackson was first out, and it came down to Tommy versus Nick at the end. All the competitors were drenched, and Kat was sobbing - not because she hadn't won (well, maybe partly that) but she accidentally hurt Cliff while both were racing up the ramp for the last spot of a round. She got that spot but went out in a later round. Cliff said it was okay, it was a competition and she didn't hurt him intentionally, she was just fighting for her life in the game and he had no hard feelings. Others comforted her as well, but she went into the pantry to sob alone for a bit before composing herself. Nick started his power-gametalking to Tommy and Analyse, but Tommy cut him off to say he'd promised he wasn't going to make any new alliances this week. He also told them he'd "probably" use it to take Christie off the block, which will cause yet another twist to fall flat and go thud. Evening was quiet, with lots of chatter about the comp and the usual psst-pssting and bitching about whoever wasn't present. Kat put in some early campaigning to Tommy, who in turn did some shmoozing and jury managing with her. Cliff and Kat had a (probable) block party in the lounge, which may have been a lot of shmoozing and jury management, but I think there was a high level of sincerity as well. I'd like to think so anyway. Cliff was looking like he was fresh from the wars, between re-hurting his calf this morning and again in the comp, along with his back, and he had one elbow and the other forearm taped up. Nick kept talking a mile a minute, and Christie returned to her usual yack-yack, now without the tears her nomination brought. An HOH convo started up about a possible jury battle-back or a viewer vote-back, and Christie described the BB9 viewer vote to revive Alex, which was overturned when the hamsters chose to revive newly-evicted James instead. She told it surprisingly accurately, for Christie, and it wasn't the first time. However it was the first time Tommy said he used to work for Alex. Tommy scolded Christie a little, again, this time about bashing people (Jackson and Holly in his example) because word gets around. Christie sputtered and argued, but Analyse backed him up that yes, she does indeed bash people when they aren't around. Analyse reported that she'd had more added to her chicken: whenever she gets a chicken signal, she has to go to the backyard to her coop, sit on her nest, and lay an egg. Then she has to collect her basket from the pantry and cook eggs for everyone in whichever style is indicated on a card. Then she has to go around and serve them to everyone, even if they're asleep. And she has to cluck the whole time. She said she only has to do the eggs and clucking for three days. It sounds a lot like when BB19 Alex had to set up camp, cook and serve hot dogs to everyone - that would have actually worked better with this season's camp theme, but it seems we've shifted to a little farm now. Jessica, Kat, Nicole whispered for a long time, with Nicole saying she was worried about the Six reforming with Nick, and she suggested they pitch to Tommy that he put up Holly in Kat's or Cliff's place, using intel about things Holly said last week, and they'd promise their votes to get her out. Cliff said he got "really banged up" today, and his elbow was especially bad, but he wasn't going to give up unless/until he has to. Jackson carved up, diced, and enjoyed a late night watermelon, followed by some carrots and peanut butter, and told Nicole there was a freshly feathered new chicken suit in the pantry. Nicole talked to herself/us in the lounge, saying it didn't make sense if Tommy said Jackson was his target, but he got immunity, so why didn't he put up Jackson's main ally Holly? She said she'd like to make "a big move" but didn't know where she stood, and wondered if she should trust Nick or not. Get the feeds to watch it all unfold live and/or with flashback! If you missed what's come before, click the ever-present "previous Hamsterwatch episode" link way up top for my previous recaps and/or check the feeds updates in Hamsterwatch Forum by @UGotBronx. Day 54 - Sunday 8/11/19Analyse started getting chicken signals before anyone was up for the day, and was sent on several rounds back to back. She bok-bokked into her coop, then bok-bokked into the pantry to get her supplies, and bok-bokked as she cooked and delivered them. She made scrambled eggs, sunny side up eggs, hard boiled eggs, an egg white omelet, and eggs florentine within a few hours, delighting everyone (and often confusing herself and others with the directions). Later she got calls for deviled eggs which were a big hit (after an iffy soft boiled start), eggs benedict, eggs over easy, and poached eggs. Her coop was the one from their comp, with her name on it, and several of the others tried the egg-passing up the chicken wire they had to do, agreeing it was difficult. Christie (yes, the one who lost) gave technique tips. Cliff gave a preliminary pitch to Tommy, and then talked to several of them about the importance of not being bitter jurors. It was a mostly quiet and lazy afternoon, with a lot of laying around the pool. Tommy took his I'm-detached-from-everything-this-week shtick a step further by making some hard boiled eggs. Analyse wondered if she could fit to lay down in her coop nest, then discovered she could and it was comfy. Kat had a campaign chat with Analyse, which she retold later to Holly, and she asked that Holly help spread the word that she's targeting Jackson and she's not a big comp threat, both unlike Cliff. Holly did push that to Analyse as she braided her hair, and also stressed that Nick was (still) playing all sides. Nick had a campaign chat to Nicole, suggesting they'd be better to boot Kat, and he said he wouldn't ever repeat anything she said to anyone else. (Narrator: he lies.) He also said he wants her for his new ride or die. Cliff continued socializing rounds, and he stayed with Analyse for each of her egg tasks, like he'd gone out with Jackson to all his slimings. Subtle campaigning for votes, or AFP, or just because he's a nice guy? Maybe some of each. He also joked about doing a Maury Povich moment on Thursday: "you are not the father" (of Kat). Snapchat goggles came out and instead of doing some silly poses for 10 or 15 minutes, Tommy took over and made it a full scale production that lasted over an hour. It was a horror movie about people being murdered at AirBB due to BB Goblins, or something. Tommy and Nick wore green face makeup and blankets, Kat and Christie were Liz and Julia, Holly and Jackson were Shelli and Clay (she said she felt awkward after learning Shelli was 10 years older than Clay - she's only seven years older than Jackson). Tommy directed like a semi-pro, Jessica screamed like a B-movie girl, Cliff carried Orwell around, BB ran "that's what she said" in response to a "giant cock" line, and Jackson stuffed cucumbers in his mouth - a real missed opportunity not having him carve up a watermelon with his machete safety knife. They buried the bodies in the chicken coop, and Holly worried the whole thing may have confused us. She also hoped "the real cameras" caught everything in case the goggles didn't work - she really has no idea how any of this works. It's a good bet Julie will show them the finished movie on Thursday, in a snappy edit with spooky music, and they'll scream. After that, they scattered to their corners in twos and threes to psst-psst and campaign about the vote that's four long days away. Nicole promised her vote to Cliff and she was pretty much the swing at this point, but again, four long days. Kat, Jessica, Cliff found out Nick's actually a therapist, the last to learn that one, and that's the last of the life lies outed except the Christie and Tommy whopper. BB told them to check the pantry and they ran for booze. Unfortunately it was parts for s'mores from Pop, which won a viewer vote over parts for ice cream sundaes. They enjoyed them, stuffing themselves after a big dinner. Jackson carved up a watermelon and even shared it. Analyse showed off her new feathery chicken suit and Jackson of all people asked her why she wasn't wearing her hood. That's right, Jackson asked about following task rules. Psst-pssting carried on, and Tommy told Holly and Jackson he'll be using his veto on Christie. He told them it was because he only wanted two nominees on the block, but we know it's because of their secret partnership and shared past.
