Daily Feeds Recaps

Day 82 - Sunday - September 25, 2022

They were woken around 9am, with extra songs if the lengthier WBRB for us was an indication. Monte and Turner got up and got their coffee and sat down to cards. They wondered if the finale started at 6 or 7pm (no, 5pm BB time), and they said in ten hours they'll be done. Monte added "we'll be giving them shit." Actually they'll both be facing some shit as they do their press QAs after the confetti settles. Taylor got up and joined them for their farewell to us. Turner thanked us "random live feeders" and said "because of you, I had a job." Monte thanked us for not sharing vulnerable moments we might have caught - again, he'll be surprised tonight. Taylor said it's been "the ride of a lifetime" and we've seen it all, we were the first to see everything. And then they were gone.

The finale kicked off with the rest of the Part 1 weiners and we learned Taylor came off 36 minutes and Monte at 46 minutes, giving Turner the win. Part 2 was Festival Lineup, transporting comp title cards two at a time down a zipline to assemble them in order played. Taylor's time was 7:04 and Monte's was 6:41, giving him the win, which we also knew.

The jury roundtable was one of the better ones in recent seasons, with Dr Will capably hosting again. Brittany was trotted out and while they sadly clipped the drama we heard about from various directions, it was well edited to show they actually put some thought into it all. And of course we had Dr Will twisting their heads around some to think in different ways, which he does so well.

Part 3 was Jury Fest, with a short caricatured video of each juror, each with three statements about their stats in the game, one of which was incorrect. Turner and Monte were both correct for Indy, Jasmine, Joseph, Kyle, Terrance. Then Turner missed Michael, both missed Alyssa, and Turner missed Brittany, giving Monte the Final HOH win. A cut to Taylor in the living showed she was clearly happy with that result.

Turner and Taylor gave their speeches, both of which were good, and Monte evicted Turner. Turner said "it's all love" and in the gap when we usually see the evictee's photo go gray, instead we had an extended Monte and Taylor hug, with him repeatedly saying "I told you, I told you." He had indeed, but he'd kept some of us wondering if he'd really do it right up until he did. Turner was in good spirits with Julie, and of course she didn't waste the chance to bring up his bussin' vocabulary.

Turner joined the jury onstage, they each asked a question of the finalists, and both gave good answers. Monte's final speech was pretty good as well, citing his comp wins, alliances, and that Nicole, Michael, Turner all went out on his HOHs. And he told them to think about who they want to represent their season, which maybe was not his best thing to say, as Taylor knocked it out of the park with her speech. She said she'd been bashed and called b-word, she'd been unjustly and unfairly accused of contributing to a mental breakdown and using someone's mother's illness for game (accurate jabs about Daniel and Nicole), and she had to sit on the block next to Kyle (not named) after discovering he'd been wanting an all-white alliance. She acknowledged she didn't have the comp wins Monte did, but her resiliency and persistence after being a target so often proved she'd built the relationships that got her to the end. She said she'd been a sword not a shield, and a victor not a victim. Boom and drop mic.

The jurors placed their keys in the key wheel, pre-jurors were brought out to the beautiful set, and Julie asked Joseph about Dyre Fest drama, partly for the finalists' benefit since they hadn't seen him since and only had hearsay about all that. They all learned that both Michael and Joseph are lawyers, and Ameerah, Pooch, Daniel all got a question but Nicole did not. Turner ate Jasmine's muffin and Alyssa and Kyle both reported they might be a thing that lasts, but they were both going to give it some time to see.

It was finally time for Julie to pull the keys. Turner's vote went to Monte, followed by Brittany, Alyssa, Michael, Terrance, Kyle all voting for Taylor, giving her the win. She did her pageant walk in the jeweled jumpsuit that launched a thousand gripes to get her confetti, with Monte graciously trailing behind. Julie revealed that Indy, Jasmine, Joseph also voted Taylor, giving her an 8-1 win. Taylor became the first Black woman to win Big Brother USA, and then she made history again by being the first season winner to also win the viewer favorite vote. Julie said the other top vote-getters were Michael and Kyle.

My sincere gratitude to you Hamsterwatchers for continuing to visit and read the site! You're the reason it's still here. And HUGE thanks to those who donated to help me keep it going! Life disasters always seem to hit me during BB and this summer was no exception. I had to ease back on a few things this summer and I'm not proud that sending individual thank yous was one of them, but I hope you see this and know how very grateful I am! Very special thanks too to those who once again got your feeds using my links! There are precious few anymore as so many people keep P+ all year or get it through bundled streaming services etc, so every one counts more than ever. Thank you all ♥

I'll be at @neonne for the off-season, and a reminder I'll be adding some fall and holiday items and gifts in my Etsy shop in the upcoming weeks.

IF YOU MISSED what came before, check my previous episode, always linked up top or from my season index, and get the feeds to catch anything you missed with Flashback! And/or to watch prior BB USA, Canada, Australia seasons, plus a ton of other shows and movies as well.

First things first: this season they repeated two of the very best decisions they've ever made. One being the adoptable anipals courtesy of Rancho Coastal Humane Society during blocked feeds for comps and other scheduled blocks, and the other was giving us first night/first week feeds again. So much of each season is set up during those first days, and it's really imperative we see them. Imagine trying to piece together all the Taylor hate, Paloma's exit, and all the rest from retells after the fact. It would have been impossible, especially when so many of those retells were withheld from us later on. So everlasting thanks and kudos for the decision to keep both of those improvements.

Additional ups for carrying the festival theme all season long - a first, maybe. Sometimes they only added 'fest' to a comp name, but they remembered to do that. And the motel theme was cute and carried throughout the house, even down to little details we rarely saw. The overall colors of the rooms were also nice and less jarring than usual, and once again the backyard was simply stunning, especially at night.

It was an odd season. We had no cast until the day before premiere, and then we had the Marvin swap out for Joseph. The cast was heavier with recruits than usual, and while there were some good strategizers, there were a whole lot who had no clue what was going on and couldn't even figure it out after multiple blindsides. Yep, I'm looking at you, Convenience Store - one of the best not-actual alliance names ever.

We had ethnic and cultural diversity (but still no indigenous representation for the I in their BIPOC mandate), and we again had racism and misogyny, two BB staples that nobody needs. 'All walks of life' doesn't have to include the worst of the worst, and shouldn't. They get enough exposure elsewhere.

Fun feeds-wise, there wasn't a lot. This group didn't come up with any group activities to amuse themselves or us, other than a couple rounds of hide and seek. Yes, hamster talk shows, Mafia, Pot Ball, charades, etc can get old, but they can be refreshing breaks from the tedium too, as well as much-needed breaks from continual and often tedious gametalk. We didn't have any particularly witty characters or comedians this time except Jasmine, who always delivered (if unintentionally), so even non-game conversations became repetitious fast.

The edits will never be thorough as they're compressing so much time into a couple hours each week, but glaring omissions were Taylor's early treatment and Kyle's Cookout 2.0, both of which only showed up in the air shows when they were mentioned in speeches and couldn't be avoided. They overlooked Joseph in particular, when he was one of the best all-around hamsters this season or any other.

Overall the season was of and about Taylor, and it was a roller-coaster season, with a number of emotional gut-punches and a few moments of pure joy and elation, but as a whole it was probably average. We'll see how it stands up when we get some distance and view it in retrospect. Slop needs to end, period. Brochella/Dyre Fest was a potentially good twist in theory, but it was poorly executed and came too late: three rounds of 'final five' tedium was groan-worthy. There were only three costumes, with Skid and Fancy being in extremely poor taste, and Indy's Punkaroo performances were the only task, and those were withheld from feeds.

But it was a season, our annual summer guilty pleasure for so many years now. Thanks as always to every one of the hamsters, (some more than others), who put themselves out there for our enjoyment.

Won: $800,000; 1 week cruise for two; Week 5 surviving Bestie pick; 48 hr Fancy tied to Joseph; Movie guest

HOH 2 - Veto 0 - Noms 2/3
Have-not 0

She was bashed from the start, led by Paloma, but the bashing continued and expanded after she left. But she managed to stick and was finally welcomed into Leftovers alliance with hugs and genuine goodwill. That didn't stop the bashing, which reached shameful lows when Daniel and Nicole each attacked her openly and absurdly. But she outlasted all her haters, and she was gracious to and about each of them, which further endeared her to many. She won the iconic and brutal Wall comp as well as a memory details comp, and while her first HOH was a bit of a strategic shambles, she generally knew what was going on and managed to maneuver around obstacles. She talked to us a lot, and while she was new to BB as of last year, after learning about and being inspired by Cookout, she came in having done her homework. She flirted with Joseph and canoodled and more with Monte, but the real showmance this year was Taylor and her Lay's chips. If she hadn't been bashed, the season would have been very different. If she hadn't reacted to the bashing with grace and style, she may not have won. Take note.

Won: $75,000

HOH 3 - Veto 2 - Noms 2/0
Have-not 1

He was all about bros early on, and the last surviving Taylor basher. She warned him in the first week that she thought the girls were working together, which he took immediately to Paloma, and the anti-Taylor movement grew explosively. Then he bro'd up again with Joseph, Kyle, Turner and they brought in Brittany, Michael, Taylor for numbers, and Monte began to learn the accusations about Taylor had no substance. From there he got to know her, and eventually apologized for his part in her early treatment, and they eventually landed in bed for two weeks as they alternated HOHs. He still sometimes talked behind her back in uncomplimentary ways, which was a choice he'll be expected to answer for. He had an odd mix of life and people skills, seeming worldly and wise one moment to being a complete doofus the next. He might have beaten Turner if he'd taken him to the end, but he didn't.

Won: $10,000 finish bonus; Movie guest

HOH 3 - Veto 0 - Noms 2/0
Have-not 1

9th juror - 13th evicted - Day 82

He started out looking and acting like a random stagehand who'd stuck around for some reason, to the butt of fandom jokes about not showering, to hero for many when he brought the Taylor bashing into the open on his first HOH. His trajectory continued bouncing up and down, and he defected from Leftovers as fast as Kyle when he buddied up to Terrance as Dyre Fest HOH. He was a change from the usual counterculture/alt type casting slot in that he's also a capitalist business guy, which threw many for a loop. He'll be remembered for stealing half a muffin and being a miserable birthday party goer, both featuring his nemesis Jasmine, and he played a better game than most expected. And through it all there was the lovely Megan Belmonte.

Won: $7,500 finish bonus; Week 1 Backstage Pass; Week 1 viewer safety vote; Week 5 immunity (HOH Bestie)

HOH 0 - Veto 2 - Co-veto 1 - Noms 5/0

8th juror - 12th evicted - Day 79

She came in a 'superfan' who'd never tried feeds, and she wanted to hide her hypnotherapy but then gave them multiple group sessions. She stressed about being left out of alliances and/or being at the bottom of them, and she didn't help her cause by frequently blabbing secrets to the wrong people. She often said she wanted to be the weakest competitor so she'd get dragged to the end (a valid strategy, though not often admitted out loud), but at the same time she hyped up her wins. She used the Have-not room as her office and often cried and talked to us from there when it wasn't being used as Alyssa and Kyle's sex lair. In fact, Brittany probably talked to us more than she talked to her roomies. She was stapled to Michael all season until he exposed her on his way out, and then she decided she'd carried him.

Won: $5,000 + $5,000 finish bonus; Week 1 Backstage Pass; Movie guest

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 4/0
Have-not 1

7th juror - 11th evicted - Day 72

She was good for comedy bits between her very faulty geography and her overall ditzy manner, not to mention her apparent pride at having been in five car crashes due to texting/mapping while driving. She bonded right away with Paloma but backed off when it was clear that ship was sinking, and she participated in the early Taylor bashing. She was clueless about the game going on around her and seemed to have only one goal: Kyle. He tried to fight that but wasn't able to, due to inexperience and immaturity. She gave him info about her side of the house that was instrumental in Leftovers forming and eventually taking out all of Alyssa's friends. She felt betrayed by Kyle about that but it didn't stop her from doing ten seconds with him on the Have-not pool floatie and her bed.

Won: $2,500 finish bonus(?); Movie screening

HOH 3 - Veto 5 - Co-veto 1 - Noms 2/1
Have-not 1

6th juror - 10th evicted - Day 65

He was visibly uncomfortable and socially awkward at first when there were so many of them, and he landed on the block, but he won that first veto and started to settle in better. Then he won the next veto and normally that might have put a target on him, but then Leftovers formed and brought him in with Brittany, partly because of his valuable comp skills. He went on to break the veto record with six, along with three HOHS to tie Janelle's longstanding record. He settled in pretty well and he was well-aligned, but he isolated with Brittany too much and hadn't covered his get-around bases enough when Leftovers fell apart, and his bad timing for outing Kyle's problematic pitches plus his comp skills got him the boot. He went out with a bang and a swift, iconic exit.

Won: Week 4 surviving Bestie pick; Week 4 immunity (HOH Bestie); 1 week 4.5 days Ink 182 temp tats

HOH 1 - Veto 1 - Noms 4/1
Have-not 1

5th juror - 9th evicted - Day 65

Sometimes he was friendly and charming, and other times he was nasty and vile. He tended to tell people what they wanted to hear, and that might be nice things or it might be awful things, depending who it was about and when. He wasn't plugged in to what was going on around him so he and his fellow 'Convenience Store' teamies were continually outplayed and occasionally blindsided. He did win the Dyre Fest HOH and veto, and he fell for Kyle's rehash version of things when they were in the backyard, because Kyle got to him before Joseph did. He said later he regretted that, but what was done was done. He did have some good stories, and he told them well, and he was a good sport about his 182 tattoos task.

Won: Nothing

HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Co-veto 1 - Noms 0/3

4th juror - 8th evicted - Day 58

He was in a very good spot, juggling multiple alliances successfully, and he was pivotal in Leftovers forming when he spilled things Alyssa had told him, betraying her confidence. Then they kissed and he started leaning her way over both his bros and Leftovers, and then they did sexytime and that was it. He blew up all his alliances, spilling everything to Terrance in Dyre Fest in order to get Joseph gone, which happened. But Kyle only got one extra week from that because his Cookout 2.0 theory came out via Michael and Brittany, and that was the end for him. He'll be remembered for that, and for his self-admitted 10-second sex, and for generally being an immature boy in a grown man's body.

Won: Week 4 immunity (HOH Bestie); 48 hr Skid tied to Taylor

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 2/0
Have-not 1

3rd juror - 7th evicted - Day 51

He often said he hoped this wouldn't be a season with fights and hostilities, and for the most part it wasn't. But it's still a dirty game and he played loyal, even while he was double-dipping, at least until he had no choice among the Dyre Fest outsiders, since Kyle spilled the Leftover beans out there way before he did. He often gametalked for too long, but he was good at creating chaos, and he also had great stories about his childhood and teen adventures. His birthday joined the epic BB birthdays when the Leftovers formed and took aim at the other side, taking them out one by one (with several bonus blindsides) until the split house twist split them up, and he was the first casualty of that. His friendship/flirtmance with Taylor was fun to watch.

Won: Week 3 immunity (HOH Bestie); London trip

HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0
Have-not 1

2nd juror - 6th evicted - Day 51

She participated in the early Taylor bashing but eased up on it as her friends left and she lost people to bash with. She was the comic relief of the season in so many ways, from her ridiculous Diary accent and lines, to her twisted ankle that went on and on and on, not to mention her inability to use crutches or cane properly for it. She annoyed many of them as a roommate, she stashed her favorite foods, and she talked incessantly about herself. #JasmineStories sounded like tall tales, especially as they continued to pile up, but her old Twitter account proved quite a few of them were true, or at least had a basis in truth. Her ongoing feud with Turner was a season highlight, especially when he stole half a muffin and she made a federal case about it.

Won: Punkaroo 1 week concerts

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 2/0
Have-not 1

1st juror - 5th evicted - Day 44

She was often loud and often acted more like she was playing BB Brasil than USA, with more attention given to her frequent (loud) shoutouts and camera messages than to the game going on around her. She was another of the early season Taylor haters but it lingered on with Indy after the others left or backed off. Indy was one of the few who confronted Taylor face to face (over soup), but her most vicious was a tirade to Joseph saying she HATES it when he and the guys talk with Taylor. But she was often fun and upbeat, and she was a better sport about her Punkaroo punkitard than most expected. And I always give kudos for non-native English speakers in this game that's based around whispers, conversations, and retells.

Day 18 to Taylor: 'Don't speak to me until finale. The thing you did to Paloma you're trying to do to [Nicole], you can fuck right off. You don't think America's watching all that? You don't think so? From here on out do not speak to me. I will never forget what you did to Paloma. You think she didn't spiral because of you? You didn't add to that? And now you're trying to do it to Nicole, mind game. Do not speak to Nicole like that ever again.'
Don't get it twisted. First, mental illness doesn't work that way. Second, Terrance first suggested all that, Nicole planted it in Daniel's head, and he's the one who ran rabid with it, with her urging and blessing. They were peas from the same rotten pod and each fed off the other's vileness. I hope I never hear about either of these Toxic Twins again.

Arrogant, aggressive, entitled, overbearing, self-serving and self-centered. She took over the Taylor hate train when Paloma left and ran it off the rails. She had no redeemable watchable qualities, least of all being entertaining in the slightest. I thought about doing Ozark ratings some week but I lost my Wendy Byrde with her exit. Verbatim quote from this 'superfan': 'They've done something that no other alliance has ever done in this game, in Big Brother history, they created a pact of people to make you think you're safe and say I got your back, and then this [betrayal] happens.' Hello? Welcome to BB.

She was one of the Taylor haters under Paloma's direction, but she kept it up after Paloma's exit, even after Turner referred to it in his noms speech. That was one reason she went on the block as backdoor target and eventual exit, along with Michael and Kyle stressing her general smarts. She pushed for Pooch to go after he volunteered himself, and then she was blindsided when it was her own turn to meet Julie.

Volunteering to go on the block is always dicey, but especially as early as he did before any real trust is formed. And now he knows why. He's lucky Julie was COVID-distanced or she might have whacked him. He put all his eggs in a broken Oasis basket, and he irritated a lot of them with his antics and touchy-feely. When Joseph tried to help and warn him about that, he just got mad at Joseph. Like Paloma, he talked constantly and very, very fast. He seems like he's got a good heart so good luck to him from here.

Left the game - Day 8

She drove the game at the start, and she ignited and fueled the unjustified Taylor hate which continued to thrive even after she left. When she started to spiral, her conspiracy theories and delusions would have been comical if they weren't indicative of something more serious going on. It was probably best for her to go when she did, and for me - her nonstop superfast talking was stressing me out.
