Day 84 - Tuesday - September 28, 2021

Once again, they started as soon as they woke up. Azah told Xavier she'd gone through and put each of her departed friends in Xavier's place and asked herself what her decision would be if it was Tiffany, Hannah, Derek X, etc instead of Xavier. And she said "if my opinion matters, I'm completely fine, and I do think you should follow through with the deal that you made with him" [for Xavier to take Derek rather than her].

She said she's aware that she makes good decisions in life except when men are involved, and she didn't want to look like she was throwing her game away for her crush if she wins and takes Xavier. She said all this, and more, horizontally from her bed, practically under the covers. And she said if she only cared about herself she'd take Derek, and she'd try to convince Xavier to take her, saying that would be simple. Xavier gave all the right responses and made all the right noises to encourage her and make her feel comfortable.

Then Derek met with Azah - his announcement that he wouldn't speak to her only lasted about 12 hours. She told him about going through the roster and putting them in Xavier's place, and she said Xavier should take Derek if he wins. She said yes they'd been there for each other all season but he hadn't been there for her the past couple weeks, he'd put her down, and it hurt her a lot. He said his actions showed he was still with her and she said it still hurt her. She said she believed he'll win AFP so he'll go home with cash even if he finishes third. He stayed calm, but ran his loops again about how much he's done in there, and he doesn't apologize for any of the moves he made. And he said "nobody has a tracking Excel sheet" as far as who did what, showing he doesn't know this fanbase well at all. He said his "sole reason" for moving out of the room last night was he didn't want them to be in the same environment to think about everything (big fat lie).

Derek continued running his loops about how much he'd done and poor him if he finishes third, that it'll it be hard for him to recover from all this, that he felt stupid and played, along with echoing more of her lines, and he said he felt he'd lose to either of them. They ended with a hug that kind of smashed her: she said "ow, ow, you hit me a little hard, like Kyland's massage when he was mad at me." Derek immediately retold to Xavier who asked if he'd stayed calm, and Derek said he had (true.) A bit later Derek joked to Azah "keep me, keep me" and she said "I was 70/30 yesterday and I'm like 55/45 now, so whatever you're doing is working." I don't know.

From there they settled into their new routine of daytime cards, and some cautious excitement about this being their last full day in there. Azah told Xavier she wants to talk to him again, saying her talk with Derek had her confused her again. As far as I can tell, as of now, Xavier will take Derek to finals if he wins Part 3, and Azah will take Xavier if she wins. Keep it in pencil. Then Derek started hollering "DON'T YOU WANT TO WIN 750K, JUST SIT NEXT TO THE FAT MAN AND YOU'LL FUCKIN WIN! GODDAMN!" and itemizing all his comp losses, putting Azah and Derek both in hysterics. "LOOK AT ALL THE TIMES I FACE-PLANTED IN OTEV!" and "I COULDN'T EVEN ROLL A FUCKIN EGG DOWN A FUCKIN RAMP!" Azah and Xavier said he came close in that one, but he replied "I LOST!!!" Hilarious stuff, and the kind of tactic he should have been using all week, but maybe not so loudly.

Afternoon was mostly napping and cuddling, including a three-way cuddle on the big blue white couch for awhile. After one nap, Azah told Xavier she had a new idea she wanted to propose to Derek. She said because he feels his fate is in their hands (true), she thought they could ask him who he wants to sit next to at finals. If that person wins, they'd take him, and if the other one wins, they'd take the other person. (What?!) Xavier did not laugh in her face, but said he didn't think it was a good idea since Derek would say whatever they wanted to hear, and he'd pick the one he thinks he can beat, which would be Xavier, and he talked her off that loony ledge.

Azah and Xavier did some packing, and Derek told Xavier he should make his pitches. Xavier said he doesn't have to pitch to him and he'd already pitched to Azah, but Derek said "good karma is to pitch to both of you" so he did. His karma pitches were short and sweet. He said something about wanting to win the money to help his mom and Xavier suggested he doesn't tell Azah that because they didn't like it when Tiffany brought up her son (and also Azah might be swayed by that). Azah cried after Derek's pitch to her, and Xavier banged one of the pantry cameras pretty hard putting away the ironing board.

Derek went back for a karma PS pitch to Azah who restarted her what-to-do loops, then he ran his list of accomplishments, she ran her list of ways he'd hurt her, and he said they should enjoy their last night so they "don't look back and feel like this was such a horrible day because I don't want that at all" - and he broke down in sudden sobs. He started to say if he'd done or said something wrong etc etc, and she said he has belittled her and discredited her, and it hurt. He finally apologized, but then kept going about his side of it.

Xavier checked in with Azah who said she'd asked God what to do but "he ain't saying much, except you need to study." She ran her loops again about her reasons to take each of them if she wins, and said her decision isn't motivated by money, and she wants to be able to live with whatever she decides in the future. Xavier said Derek was all emotions now, and he was using guilt to get to Azah, and that's why they cut Kyland. And he said whatever she decides, he'll support it. That round settled down and they joined together at the tiny table, Azah doing her hair and nails, and Derek and Xavier playing cards. They joked, and laughed, and Azah narrated the guys' card game with sex noises. And that's how the 84th and final night of feeds should be.

I don't think Azah stated her decision specifically, and she used an analogy about picking horses that I didn't follow, but I believe she finally settled on taking Xavier, if the choice is hers tomorrow.

Day 83 - Monday - September 27, 2021

Derek and Azah picked up right where they left off immediately after waking up. Derek may have thought he was going to patch it up in his roundabout way but that backfired again, and they escalated to anger and raised voices on both sides, landing this one in the fights tally. The loops were the same: Derek wanting assurance Azah will take him to finals if the choice is hers but not wanting to answer her questions, and Azah reiterating that she hadn't said she'd changed her mind. Derek had also added Azah and Xavier escalating cuddle sessions to his loops, something he ranted to himself/us about before last night's confrontation. Each made their retells to Xavier, who'd been showering, and Derek asked to be warned by Xavier if he decided he wasn't going to take him. Xavier responded to that by saying whoever wins will have a lot of options.

Final Three usually herd together to prevent finals talks, with whispery "take me" sessions in twos when the third is out of the room. These three keep talking about the F3 to F2 cut openly as a trio, with Derek vs Azah bickering and Xavier mediating, plus suffering through continual retells from both of them. It's something.

Azah interrupted another ranty retell from Derek to Xavier by joining Derek on the big blue white couch to try to get past it. Xavier did the unheard-of-for-hamsters by putting it out in the open, saying "this is painful, for all of us really," and he added "probably for me the most because I'm watching it" -tiny violin alert- "but I can feel the pain of you two in the moment." Azah told Derek "you called me Ms Azah" indicating the severity of this morning's clash. They rehashed a bit more then all three settled into fluff talk, what they'll wear on finale, and the like.

Math time: assuming $10k bonus for 3rd place is correct (it could be more), and assuming first and second place don't get weekly stipend, that means if third place wins AFP, they'd make virtually the same as second place: $10k bonus + $50k AFP + $14k stipend = $74k, versus second place's $75k. Now recall how well Derek F did in the BB Bucks votes and the generally good edits he's had. If he's third place and wins AFP, add the $7.5k he's already won for a total of $81.5k, which is more than second place. Now, also consider the delicious finale shockfaces on Derek F, Xavier, Kyland when Tiffany wins the $50k AFP - which she clearly deserves, in my opinion - and go text TIFFANY to 97979. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

After a long afternoon of them all laying around, napping, cuddling, Azah told Xavier she's been thinking about it, and she's going to pray on it, but she now thinks she'll take him if she wins Part 3. He told her he appreciates that, then said "that's huge" to himself/us as he got in the shower. (Sorry, pun not intended: that is what he said.) He then told Azah that her offer had made him emotional, and he joked "I hope you're happy." She was touched, and asked him for a hug, and of course he obliged. Azah sounded in very high spirits, as Derek snored away on the other feed. When he eventually got up things were pretty silent, with Derek and Xavier playing Jenga (symbolism!) while Azah made dinner, but if Derek noticed anything unusual or awkward he didn't mention it. Dinner came and went, followed by more rehashes about their former roomies, and cards.

Azah told us while doing her hair what she'd told Xavier earlier, that she still needed to pray about it but she thought she'd take Xavier if she wins Part 3. She added she knew it may get some people upset or wondering if she's crazy, but "I don't think X should be third, I just don't." She said it had nothing to do with "nomance" and "I don't know if I'm f'd up, that I don't want to take my best friend" but that it had hit her some type of way when Derek said she didn't deserve to go to finals.

And then she told Derek those same things, including about the conversation of whether she deserved to be there or not. He stayed visibly calm, answering with "mm-hmm" a lot, and ending with "you're welcome, 'cause you're here, so.. I did that to myself 'cause I coulda kept someone who at least would have potentially took me or I already knew from the get-go wasn't gonna take me." And he said "take all the time you need, I'll never kiss nobody's ass, I have did everything, it shows in my resumé and what I have done, it is what it is, I'm not gonna fight and argue." Then he hugged her, thanked her for her honesty and for letting him know, and he left.

Azah was called to Diary and Derek vented to Xavier, who acted like he didn't already know Azah's decision. He said he should have kept Kyland then quickly added "but I obviously wouldn't do that to you," and said he wasn't going to talk to Azah "for the rest of this time being." He got wound up more and more as he ranted, saying Azah was making an emotional decision after all the cuddle time with Xavier, and he said he feels "portrayed" even though he had no deals with Azah. Xavier just sat quietly for most of it, echoing Derek's previous "mm-hmm" sounds. Derek kept going: "I'm still a bad bitch, it is what it is, I have to pray this girl does not win and leave it at that, that's all I can do.. I'm trying to be the bigger person, not go off.. she's like 'I don't want to make it seem like I'm going off my emotions' - what the fuck," becoming more emotional the longer he went. He started using a sing-song voice to quote Azah's lines, and he again said he wasn't going to talk to Azah anymore, no good mornings or good nights, and he wanted to destroy her study guide. Xavier told him not to do something he'd regret, not to go out with "Kyland energy." Derek packed up from the Jokers bedroom - which Azah had returned to, and he moved into the reef room. When he was called to Diary, Xavier checked in with Azah who retold the convo from her point of view, calmly.

I don't know if we've ever had final days feeds like this! It's been something, whew.

Day 82 - Sunday - September 26, 2021

Derek complained that he hadn't slept well due to his sore knees, and he kept waking from dreams. He said in one of them, Xavier and Tiffany had kids together and there was a bank robbery involved, and in another he'd made it to finale and was in one of the final two chairs, but nobody else was there, either in the house or the studio. Other than that, the current Groundhog Day cycle cycled along: sleeping, eating, playing cards, griping, rehashing, and rewind, repeat. And of course they talked finals in various combos of two. Azah let Xavier know she was still undecided if it's her choice, and Xavier told Azah he wasn't going to belittle her like Derek does. (He does do some of that to Derek though). And Xavier coached Derek on his jury speech, if he gets there. He was planning to list everything [he thinks] he's done all season, like he's been talking about this past week or two. His wrap-up line: "please cast your vote to evict me the winner of Big Brother."

They got tie-dye supplies and Jenga. They played a couple games of Jenga and then went back to their usual cards, napping, and eating: dinner was quesadillas. Derek ran his speech a few more times, which echoed his segment of tonight's show about his fabulous social game and how he ran the season, and he interviewed himself for us with questions like his daily routine at home, his favorite colors and drinks. Speaking of tonight's show, it was hosted by Julie but not live (narrator's faulty Friday script about that is on the goof tally below), and the pre-jurors did not appear like they did on last year's version of this episode, via Zoom. Julie told us "all 16 houseguests will reunite" on the finale, which sounded like they'd all be onstage like prior seasons, but Christian posted they would attend via Zoom.

Angst broke out late when Derek finally admitted to Azah that he'd have taken Xavier to F2 if the choice was his. She said she'd wanted to take him, Derek. They went back and forth a few rounds, then each talked to Derek about it, separately. I think Xavier probably just wanted to go to bed. Eventually they all did, but not as the happy-ish family of three they had been.

Noms count: original/renom

They fulfilled the CBS mandate for 50% BIPOC casting, even though that wasn't technically required to start until fall, so kudos for that, even though there was no indigenous representation. And the cast was generally likable and genuine, with some nice alternatives from the longstanding and stale casting formula. Feeds were pretty much 24/7 gametalk, but that's what happens when the majority knows the game, and it was often fascinating to watch Cookout members maneuver their way to the end while juggling their individual games within the alliance.

I don't know if 85 entries on the Goof Tally is a record, but it's a lot. 23 pinkyswears is also a lot, especially since many - perhaps most - of those promises weren't kept, so I'll probably retire that tally. The edits were usually iffy, often downplaying Tiffany and Hannah, and boosting Derek F and Kyland in particular. But they're making a TV show and they have an army of writers and story editors who need something to do. I think the actual story is usually just as compelling or more than the fictions they spin, just as the Diary out-takes on the late season clips show are far better than the generic bland ones we get. But again, that's none of my business. We didn't see spelling, before/after, ball pit hunt, hide the veto, slip 'n slide or some other classic comps but it was good to see some of the standards along with some new ones.

Super big ups for giving us first week feeds again! I hope they continue that new tradition. Most of all, props and thanks to each and every hamster for putting themselves out there for our amusement.

8th juror - 13th evicted - Day 79

He kicked off his Week 2 HOH with 5-minute timed meetings with everyone before noms and it was glorious, especially after Frenchie's week of chaos. But the next day he held one-on-ones again after noms which dragged on and on, and he continued holding overlong meetings most of the season, even when he had no reason to do so. He paused, umm'd, and rambled literally for hours to the point of incoherence and when he ran out of hamsters to babble to, he turned to us. He stayed wrapped around SarahB until she left, and then he turned the Have-not room into his private office/isolation chamber. He wore a donkey suit and made club sandwiches for a week, and was one of several who seemed like they felt entitled to win. #Kycomplains was an unexpected season highlight when his many corporate complaint tweets were discovered. He went out blindsided, and was such a poor sport about it Julie had to yell at him to leave the house.

She thought she was hiding how brainy she was by not telling them she graduated university at 19, but she rattled off BB facts and trivia like a machine, as well as lengthy word-for-word convos plus analysis, and she didn't fool anyone. She shifted Derek X from teamie/buddy spot to her doomed partner/pawn when she joined Cookout and she never looked back. She strategized and ran constructive retells almost nonstop, but she did most of that in the background so tv-onlies probably weren't aware of how much she did. She laughed a lot, especially with Derek X, and she was a good confidante for Tiffany. She finally won an HOH and veto but it was too little too late, and she went out as a double eviction victim. Her goop-filled goggles on the wall comp will be one of the lingering photo moments of the season.

6th juror - 11th evicted - Day 71

She continuously shifted from hardcore strategist to everyone's sister/mom/friend/confidante, to being funny and comical all season long. She drove the game early on, and she overplayed a few times but she rebounded each time until she won the Flying BB-inos spinny comp. The Cookout guys decided she had to go for that, even though she'd evicted her own BFF Claire that week rather than one of them. She came up with Cookout's partner/pawn strategy way back on July 28, even though Derek F later tried to claim that was him. Tiffany took Kyland, Christian, Derek X, Claire, Hannah under her wing at various times, and all remained loyal to her except Kyland. Her social game was superb, she was fun and funny (especially her ongoing vendetta against Sarah Beth), as well as being sensitive and caring. Easily my star of the season.

5th juror - 10th evicted - Day 65

She stayed so stapled to Christian I didn't know much about her until his exit. They added a couple tally items, and then she shifted to sticking to Xavier's side til her own exit. She was surely aware of his crush on her but she didn't take advantage of it or even mention it (that I'm aware of). She was an active participant in group games and she co-hosted The Big Blue Couch skit/show with Derek F. Game-wise, her Diaries made her sound like she was on top of everything but her actions in the house didn't come across that way. She went out thinking she was responsible for Claire's eviction but she'll find out how that really unfolded soon enough. She won OTEV and Zingbot vetos, and a High Rollers week that put her partner Xavier on the block.

4th juror - 9th evicted - Day 65

She came in an alternate, with a brainy job rather than the influencer or model wannabes we often get, and a feedster with a dedicated BB Twitter account. She cozied up with fellow Queen Tiffany early on and they stayed tight to the end. Claire seemed capable of making big moves but didn't make any, possibly because of being under Tiffany's wing but unaware of her Cookout agenda (although she did touch on the possibility a couple times), and she even kept Tiffany's noms intact when she won the secret HOH. She also won safety 'til jury' which gave her a two-week pass. Her friendships with Tiffany and Derek X were fun and easy, with a lot of laughter, but she got along with most everyone, and she had fun with her week of 52 Pickup.

This year's 'quirky girl,' she was one of many with a job/life lie, adjusting her drug testing/testifying to administrative assistant, but it ticked off some when she griped about quitting her job to be there. She won a paint splatter/memory Wildcard and a balance beam HOH, and she thought she was a badass villain by backdooring Derek X, but she was just doing Kyland's bidding. Tiffany gunned for her for weeks and that gave us moments like 'mistakenly' calling SB a sloth during a group animal game, and her 'fuck Sarah Beth and I said that shit' #FSBAISTS was an instant classic. SarahB spent much of her time laying around, usually entwined with Kyland, and she said viewers can 'wipe their butt with the BB bucks.'

He'd only seen two seasons and he didn't do much homework to know he'd signed up for a dirty game, but he was a quick study and saved himself with veto after being the probable first out. Then he won the following veto as well as an HOH, and he was a legitimate 'comp beast' threat. He was maneuvered into backdooring the other comp threat, Christian, on that HOH, and then SarahB was maneuvered into doing the same to him two weeks later. Again, homework might have helped. But he was well liked by most everyone in there and out here, he was a superb Lord of the Latrine and cockroach dancer, and he laughed a lot, something that's often missing on feeds.

1st juror - 6th evicted - Day 44

She went on the block four times, and she ranted, cried, and was a pretty bad sport about it. She only played the game around noms and voting times, so she didn't understand she kept going OTB because she didn't bother to find out what was going on, or to create allies beyond her Jokers team/roomies. The fact she was up against Cookout didn't help her any, but she could have done a lot more than she did, and she blamed her exit on a broken deal that was never struck. She rapped for Julie, and won a hard-fought veto, and broke in on Alyssa/Christian sexytime in HOH. She seemed to be playing a character much of the time, and she contributed a lot to their many skits and songs.

It was tricky to tell him apart from Travis at first, which wasn't helped by Christian changing his hair once or twice a day, and he often sounded like Victor Arroyo when he spoke. But that passed and soon it was easy to tell Christian was the loud one who was super-glued to Alyssa most of the time. He was sometimes fun and seems like a good guy, but he made no secret of his physical abilities, including doing six backflip/burpie combos in a row one day, just because he could. Those abilities were largely what got him the boot, since he also proved he could put them into action, even when he didn't need to.

Won: Nothing

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1
TEAM ACES Captain

4th evicted - Day 30

Apparently she spent a few hours on Twitter and she selected one of my tweets to complain about being villainized, slut shamed, and hated. My tweet was factual, with a touch of snark, but none of that stuff. Maybe she forgot what she signed up for, and I'm sure she's having a tough re-entry, but after having hate for her flung into my mentions every day (as all updaters get, for each of them) to then get called out publicly for what I didn't do, I'll just go with Mariah's 'I don't know her.'

Won: Nothing

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1
TEAM ACES

3rd evicted - Day 23

At cast reveal I thought international flight attendant would mean great people skills, but no. He came in boasting of charm but it didn't last long. His talk about girls and dating, and his behavior towards several women in there, were problematic and bound to get worse if he'd stayed. He was happy to be Frenchie's lieutenant for the chaotic first week but then Brent turned on him and practically denied ever being with him. He had zero self-awareness about all this and the edits skewered him as they did Frenchie, proving once again if you do clownery, you'll get the clown music.

Won: Nothing

HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 0
TEAM JOKERS Captain

2nd evicted - Day 16

Cast reveal brought controversy plus a major Cody/Derrick mixup, and the feeds opened to him announcing he wouldn't put up a woman or minority, but then he put up Alyssa and Kyland, and it was downhill from there. He did everything a feedster should know not to do: shouting in Diary, talking in cliches, Bomb Squadding, pandering, power-tripping, mistaking BB history items, grandstanding, begging for a viewer save, and threatening to quit. Still, all that gave us a wild ride and super-chaotic first week of feeds that we'd never be able to piece together if we hadn't seen it unfold.

Won: Nothing

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/1 - HN 0
TEAM QUEENS

1st evicted - Day 9

I barely know who he was. He dressed in drag (and looked okay doing so), he gave Kyland a birthday lap dance, took his shirt off for his nominee speech, and complained to Julie that white guys with abs are targets. And he didn't do much to prevent his eviction. That's all I got. Aloha.

Won: Early ticket home

HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/0 - HN 0

Replaced pre-season

Replaced by Claire pre-season, she tested positive for COVID.

Won: Early ticket home

Replaced by Christian pre-season, we may never know why.
