March 30 & 31, 2008 - Days 52 & 53 (or 53 & 54)
>> Natalie is Head of Household - Joshuah & Sharon are nominated <<
Monday 3/31: Joshuah breaks down, maybe
We've seen him cry before but it's usually been when he's alone, and seemed like a quick pressure release as much as anything
Not so this time: he broke down in a big way, in front of a plate of pizza, telling Adam that the isolation and hunger have gotten to be too much for him
Adam was great, telling him to let it out, to go talk to Diary, fetching a paper towel for the tears, and giving a big hug-back as Joshuah sobbed.. Adam told him to hang in there and not eat, saying the penalty vote would boot him out if it's a 2-2 tie - so that answers that question - then he played pool with him
Update and oops? Quirkydude caught the intro to this scene that I missed: just before Adam came in, Joshuah said "This better be convincing".. it was to me - thanks to AllyCat for showing me the light
Sharon's training Natalie in BEEBIES care in case she goes.. Natalie calls them in a high-pitched voice when chopping their food like Sharon does, then goes into a BEEBIES! squeak trying to duplicate Sharon's tone.. they'll be fine: they've been coming to the side of their box to wait for their treats for Natalie like they do with Sharon.. Natalie even hit their food bowl when dropping bananas in
In other news, T&A and/or Sheila fans might want to check out a few clips from her movies, which I've added to the adults-only links page - no kiddies please.. thanks to Fudge for tracking these down!
Activities!
Joshuah made up chocolate freezer pops from their Easter basket, now that it's safe to bring it out again.. Adam & Ryan supervised
He spent a long time working at it - see more caps by ABT
Maybe that alerted Diary to the fact that they're all slipping into comas: they delivered a collection of kiddie activities: modeling clay, Checkers, plaster monster paint kits, plus.. cards!
Natalie was sleeping but the rest of them dove in eagerly.. Ryan kept asking if anyone knows how to play that Midwest and BB staple, euchre (nobody else did).. Sharon whooped & hollered playing another game with Ryan, and sounded like a preschool teacher when regularly asking the others how they were doing and what they were making.. at least they're having some fun again
Snippets
Ryan: I'm losing my handles Adam: You are losing your handles bro.. I'm gaining, I'm keeping mine strong
Natalie: It's probably killing him, the fact that she's [Chelsia] there with Matty, that's what's killing him Sheila: It has to be.. that's ok, you'll be there soon
Sheila said she wants to be in there on her birthday (April 12) rather than sequester "with those people"
Later she told Sharon if James wins HOH this week, she's going to ask him to put her up & out rather than spend her birthday in there with him
Sharon told Sheila & Natalie that she cried after the veto comp because James told her & Joshuah afterward, "I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna help either one of you anymore".. that's been compounded this week since she knows James has been campaigning for Joshuah
She also told Sheila how disappointed she is with Joshuah for being ungrateful that she pawned herself to save him, and that he's turned on her in general
Sheila said that James had told her he'd bashed BB viewers on his MySpace.. maybe that's what he was referring to Sunday night when he said BB had made him remove something there
Waffling goes on and on.. everyone's in an alliance with everyone else and changing their tune with every convo, so we'll likely have to wait for Julie to make the votes official before we know for sure who's going
Breaking news: is it all over for Aldav??
Sunday 3/30: Adam's on the radar
Natalie replaced James with Sharon, as expected
Natalie & Ryan had a quick chat after the veto meeting, saying that Adam's now on their list of untrustworthy hamsters
They're all in intensive gaming mode again, with much behind-backs trashing and weeks-ahead planning.. pranks may continue though - here's hoping
No such luck: after yesterday's everything, today was a whole lot of nothing.. Ryan joined the nail polish art club and Sharon got a gnome outfit.. Joshuah threatened to eat a burger, but didn't
The way I understand it, he thinks if he eats in exchange for Natalie booting Sharon in a tie, he'd get a penalty nom next week, plus he wouldn't be able to play for HOH or veto.. Natalie said she was on board with that plan, but she says that to everyone
Natalie & Sheila read through the rulebook later, looking for that and other things.. they read aloud a lot which was interesting: it says things like "Nominees must learn their fate during the nomination ceremony" - they're often told beforehand - and "There is no sleeping on bedroom floors" - Ryan slept on the floor all last week
When BB8 Jen ate on slop (this same week, by the way) she was already nom'd like Joshuah, and she got one penalty vote that week.. to my knowledge, an actual penalty nomination has never happened
Laughter
There isn't much in general, but even less on days like this
Once again Adam saved the day though, when he & Ryan joined Natalie & Sheila in HOH for a bit.. Sheila has been parannoying (© BB5 Diane) that HOH conversations can be overheard downstairs - even though she doesn't hear them when she's down there
They watched James sitting at the chess set and Joshuah go back & forth across the spyscreen.. Adam put the audio dynamics to the test by calling out "ROOOOOOODE HAAARRRRRDDD" over & over
Joshuah didn't react but the HOH crowd busted up, along with anyone who was watching
I wasn't expecting to do Hamsterwatch Lite today but they didn't give me much to work with.. more tomorrow

Sunday's Adam hollers at Joshuah from HOH is posted in the forum, linked top & bottom of every page
Daily ratings - Temporary edition
Ratings are Sunday's and aren't based on much, this time only
Sunday's show was a snore, particularly the food comp, with weeks-old footage and contrived Diary speeches to flesh out non-existent storylines. I don't recall everyone laughing at Natalie with her wine at the photo wall.. I might have missed it, but I don't miss many booze sessions. Joshuah's Diaries are more animated than most, but his bitter queen act in there is getting real old. Hide & seek was a lot cuter the way it really played out - I guess that edit suffered because they had to cut Matt out of it. Whirlpool is always fun, but more so when a half dozen of them are whirling. Sunday's the one night they don't have to go up against 'American Idol' so why can't they cull better from the wealth of raw material they have, and put it together into something people would want to watch? I don't get it.

Won: Motorcycle Paired with Sheila
Shouting at Joshuah in the spyscreen was classic, as was knocking on the HOH door and running away when Natalie was in her bubble bath. He's getting ruthless teasing Ryan about food, taking him on pantry tours and fridge forages, and saying how he almost snuck a piece of pizza when he was on slop - complete with how-to suggestions.
|
Paired with Chelsia
He's still bitching & whining about wanting to know how everyone's voting even though he's safe, and even though it he who started the whole 'we're not telling' thing with Chelsia. He was a Runner-up Line of the Day contender, talking about how difficult 'The Amazing Race' would be: 'You're put in a situation where you have no money and you don't speak the language.. how do you cover 400 miles?' Umm.. isn't that his career goal?
|
Paired with Neil Sharon
NOMINATED Don't threaten to eat tonight and then go to bed instead!
|
Paired with Matt
HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD She deserves a lot of credit for listening to Sheila for hours on end as she hides out from James.
|
Won: $10,000 Jen's boyfriend Paired with Allison
Dual Line of the Day awards, both delivered to Adam: 'Put cookie dough on top of DiGiorno' as a dining suggestion; and 'When you got Julie Chen knocking your street cred, something's up'.
|
Paired with Jacob (her ex) Joshuah
NOMINATED She went to bed at 8pm to avoid hunger.. she must be saving her slop pass to sell on eBay.
|
Paired with Adam
Her dishwashing strike didn't last long but she hasn't picked up all the TP in her room yet. She was funny cracking up at Adam shouting in HOH, as they all were, and she even popped a funny later about slop: 'If something falls off your car, you can use slop to glue it back on.'
|
Won: $21,000 Vegas trip Paired with James
Sometimes a spitfire who gave us good fights & fireworks but she laid around with James way too much, which was her undoing and ours. She'll be remembered for feedmasters' attempts to protect her, strip/lap dance/makeout night, having sex, raunchy stories, a colorful vocabulary, getting smashed, smashing everyone's Easter eggs, and for going out with the nasty speeches they all threaten but rarely follow through with.
|
Paired with Natalie
America's Playa came on strong, prepared to showmance his way through all the girls and into the money. That didn't work out but he was fun to have around and he usually kept things light amid the chaos. He brought BJs to the feeds and made Bibles fun in there. Despite the fact that he's a pig, he has some good qualities too and he kinda grows on you.
|
Paired with Ryan
She called it manipulation - I call it emotional blackmail with a lot of 'poor me' thrown in. One of the most delusional hamsters ever (and that's saying something), she's the poster girl for Can Dish It Out But Can't Take It. She did give us some confrontation doozies and fireworks deluxe but trust her, like one million percent, she does not care.
|
Revive-a-Hamster winner & loser Paired with Amanda
He started out looking like he was on board with Matt's showmance plan and CBS picked up that angle, but then we got to know a bright, charismatic, and goofy guy who had everything going for him in there except his partner. His diplomacy was remarkable and he might have gone the distance, but he went out as another casualty of 'Til Death Do You Part'.
|
Paired with Alex
She began with hysterics & drama and was at the center of the biggest BB fight ever, but she went out with more of a whimper than a bang. Her moods dropped as fast as her blood sugar but to her credit, she rebounded just as fast. She & Allison had dual 911 events, but Amanda's collapse brought unexpected (and uniformed) guests into the habitat and onto the air.
|
Won: $5,000 Ryan's girlfriend/Paired with Parker
She & Ryan could have gone far if she hadn't opened her mouth in the first days. She made loads of enemies in a short time and took Parker down with her. She'll be remembered for super-quickie sex in the bathroom and a rash on her backside.. hmm, coincidence?
|
Won: $5,000 Paired with Jen
He was good watching at first til he gave up and went on strike. He bounced back a bit at the end but his doom came early when partner Jen couldn't keep her trap shut about her & Ryan. She had to go, and he was just the innocent bystander casualty. 'I'm sick of people's dumbass assinine ass comments' might be Line of the Season.
|
Paired with Joshuah
He left suddenly and mysteriously but wrote on his MySpace that he didn't leave for health reasons and that he won't be back. He seems like a good guy and I wish him well.. he's probably lucky he got out when he did, unscathed.
|
Paired with Sharon (his ex)
Gone before the feeds kicked in: he didn't even make an appearance. All that potential for rehashing their breakup and/or a jealous rage up in smoke. To make it worse, he & Sharon didn't even get an exit interview in Julie's boudoir - how rude!

ARE YOU COMPLETELY INSANE?
If so, apply to be on Big Brother 10 this summer. Read the eligibility requirements, particularly #9 about excellent mental health, apply before April 4, and/or attend a casting call. For better chances, get signed by one of the actormodel agencies they use (try this one - she cast Jen) and/or check Craigslist in late May/early June. In any case, do not tell them you're a feedster, avid fan, or anything more than a casual viewer of BB on CBS.
WANT A GOOD BIG BROTHER 10?
If you'd like to see REAL Big Brother this summer like all other countries do it, where we decide evictions and select a winner from a diverse cast, write to your local CBS station and demand it! They'll get the word to those that need to hear it.
Twists that work #13: Real people with genuine people personalities - not stereotypes, not actormodels, and definitely not insiders. How about casting a few hamsters with a sense of humor? BB5 Marvin comes to mind: a quick wit like his has been sorely missed.

This site isn't necessarily thorough: it's what I catch and/or what interests me. It also isn't necessarily about who should win, who will win, who I'd be friends with or who is cute. It's about watching hamsters: which ones are doing what and why, which are fun and which are dull. If they aren't entertaining, get rid of 'em! Thanks for encouraging my behavior.
