Daily Feeds Recaps

Day 65 - Thursday - October 8, 2020

Feeds went to starfishies at 8.52am, before the hamsters were out of their beds or the greenlight, and then to adoptable anipals at 9am, likely for the duration until after the show. All indications as of last night were for Tyler to go, and he may or may not go through with the scorcher speech he planned for the show. Last night's end-of-show narrator did not say "live" when teasing tonight's show so it seems likely they're taping a couple hours early again, and we'll miss the post-show reactions to whatever happens again, and/or if they have a long HOH comp we'll likely miss that too. Oh well, we have the new weekly loops of kittens and puppies in need of homes from Rancho Coastal Humane Society and they've been more entertaining than the hamsters for some time now.

The show had another lengthy recap of the triple, and somehow they made it seem as if a lot happened during the week since. We then had our first jury house segment, showing Ian naming turtles and being joined by Da'Vonne, and then the three victims from last week. That gave us yet another review of the triple as they watched those events unfold, and they discussed hard-hitting topics like David's OTEV $10k. Dani and her lipstick arrived bitter, but later she said she wasn't bitter. Da'Vonne was the star of the segment, with her usual quick reactions and witty comments, a memorable scream when Dani arrived, and yet another acknowledgment that Janelle was right and they should have listened to her. So we were all saying these many, many weeks.

Julie said they'd been waffling about who to evict all afternoon, which seems a bit suspect but with no feeds, there's no way to prove or disprove: a preview of what BB might become if they ever cut feeds completely. Nominee speeches were typical, yet not. Christmas shouted out her little boy's birthday, praised God, and said this was the best final six of all time - okay. Julie responded to her God message and added her own before turning it over to Tyler - that was different. Enzo and Nicole said they'd warn Tyler ahead of time he'd be going and they likely did, as his much hyped Hail Mary wasn't much. After shoutouts he said it won't be good for any of their games if they vote him out. But they did unanimously, as planned, and he went out with smiles and hugs all around, and just a good-natured light snipe at Cody on his way out.

Julie sent the remainders out to their comp which was the balance-and-stack one, this time titled Stashing Pumpkins. They had to transfer pumpkins of different sizes one at a time across a very teetery see-saw and stack them in the basket at the end. That was just begun when the show ended and Enzo had two to everyone else's one, but that's not necessarily an indication of anything as they'd have to start over if they fell or if any pumpkins fell. And again, it was very teetery: Nicole was already griping loudly about that (and possibly also because she spent three solid days studying every detail of the season thus far for a questions or put-things-in-order comp). Feeds did not come back after the show for us to watch, but all indications are that they pre-taped today's show again anyway. Julie doesn't even say "tune in to the live feeds" anymore on the shows.

Feeds returned a little after 9pm and Nicole won the HOH comp. As they waited around, Cody made a joke about everyone on the photo wall, saying he'd started that on BB16 but Zach stole the gag. Enzo hilariously told Nicole, Cody, Memphis about his kids' births, with Memphis chiming in a bit about his son's. Christmas was napping and missed it - and on her son's birthday. But it gets better: when she rejoined them, nobody mentioned that convo, knowing she'd deliver yet another marathon retelling of her son's birth, a story they (and we) have all heard too many times. With ant fighters David, Da'Vonne, Tyler all now gone, Team Ants launched another heavy assault on the kitchen and its contents, taking their habitat back. Nicole posed in the mirror, touching up her hair and getting ready for her closeup with her letter and junk food. She, Christmas, Cody all continued narrating their every move and thought while alone.

Feeds were off from around 11.40pm til a little after midnight for Nicole to get her room and letter from Victor. She had issues with him saying "sending positive vibes your way" rather than saying he was proud of her, adding "it's like something you say on an Instagram photo if their dog dies." She and Cody discussed noms a bit: predictably they'll be Christmas and Memphis, with Memphis her target.

Day 66 - Friday - October 9, 2020

Christmas and Memphis had a pre-block party over coffee. As far as I know, they aren't aware how tight Enzo is with Cody, and therefore Cody and Nicole, so they might think he's in jeopardy this week too, but no. Overnight Nicole went looking for missing HOH basket items as she didn't think she'd received everything (she didn't find any), and while talking with Cody and Enzo, Enzo laughed when Nicole said they'd had casualties along the way, like the Brigade. He and Cody had previously compared their Core Four group with Dani and Nicole to the BB12 Brigade, calling themselves Brigade 2.0 with Dani their 7th place sacrifice like Matt had been. Team Ants continued their end-game assault on the kitchen.

Nicole offered pre-nom meetings, then to herself/us she said she felt bad, she doesn't want to put Memphis on the block, and that she'd share her HOH wine (last night she said she wouldn't since she missed out on last week's big boozefest), and she wanted to cry because she thought she'd be good at putting people up but was now finding it hard, and she didn't get enough sleep. Memphis ran up to HOH right away and pitched a final three deal if she keeps him off the block this week, saying he won't use veto if he wins and will vote how she wants, and they'd take each other next week, with the disclaimer if someone uses veto on someone else he'd have to go up by default, that wouldn't nullify the deal. Nicole said she didn't know what she was going to do (lie) and when he left, she told herself/us he should have offered F2 as she knows he already has F3s with everyone else. Next up was Christmas and Nicole said she had no Reason to put up Cody or Enzo, but Memphis nominated her and Christmas voted against her. She said "if" Christmas goes up, Nicole would want her to stay, and would break a tie to keep her. Christmas said she wouldn't use veto on Memphis if she won, Nicole made it clear he's her target without saying so specificially, and they launched into yet another season rehash. Enzo showed snapshots from the wall and described them to the cow floatie.

Nicole nominated Christmas and Memphis, as planned, leaving Cody and Enzo the only ones who haven't yet touched the block. Feeds came back to Christmas whispering to Memphis, who looked a little shell-shocked, about planting seeds and laying groundwork for a deal. We came in mid-whisper but presumably it was a follow-up to a pitch Christmas made earlier to Enzo. She talked about throwing the veto to him so he could take one of them down, and Cody would have to go up. And be voted out. What she doesn't know is Enzo retold that convo to Cody and they both agreed it was a ridiculous idea. Memphis reported this to Cody right away, saying Christmas "doesn't know what's going on" and Cody in turn reported to Nicole right away. The irony of course is Memphis is the one who doesn't know what's going on, since he'll be going out 2-0 if veto isn't used, and 2-1 if it's used by/on Christmas. As of now anyway. Enzo paced the HOH room listening to music, and later reported Christmas's pitch to Nicole, saying "it's fuckin ridiculous yo." All that may have rattled Nicole a bit though, as she told Enzo "make sure you keep putting that in Cody's head, that Memphis needs to go," even though the three of them have talked of little else for days.

Evening was very quiet. Christmas did some rubbing of Memphis's foot, and then the two of them made dinner. All five ate together, and then they all hung out in HOH in various combos doing face masks, foot masks, and nails, listening to Taylor Swift, chit-chatting, rehashing the season, and gossiping about whoever wasn't present. Enzo managed to get through another day avoiding Christmas giving him any personal skin care. Not Memphis though: he laid his head in her lap and she ran a little mini roller utensil all over his face, and then he did the same to hers. I'm sure it was all platonic.

HOH 2 - Veto 2 - Noms 1/0/1 - HN 1

6th juror, 11th evicted, Day 65

He again made multiple F2s, and landed in various versions of the intertwined big power alliances. He and Bayleigh worked out their issues and fell apart again a few times, and he tangled with Dani, a bad combo for him on top of David's early tell-all faux pas. He showed some entitlement about winning the season, but he told Bayleigh and Da'Vonne that he'd ask Christmas to veto-replace him for one of them so he could go home pre-jury, citing BLM as 'something greater' they were playing for, but his talk with Christmas was shamefully withheld from feeds so we'll never know how it truly unfolded. He bashed us feedsters, and he played hard if desperate at times, but his comp streak wasn't there and he wasn't in on the pre-season ground floor to get to the end.

Won: $5,000; Slop pass, home gym; Basement Replay power/used on Memphis
HOH 1 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0/0 - HN 1

5th juror, 10th evicted, Day 58

She said she wanted to take Janelle's BB Queen crown, but instead she probably damaged her BB reputation. Not only did she not win comps like she used to, but she failed to bring the entertainment factor. To be fair, she didn't whine and complain as much as her prior seasons, but she came close. She either didn't pre-game well or she changed her mind once she saw who all was in there, and when she talked too much too soon about turning on her allies, it was her undoing. She had to nominate four people in her disastrous HOH week, and inexplicably decided not to push for Tyler to go once she had him on the block, even though her original plan for the week was to boot him out the backdoor.

Won: $10,000; Basement Disruptor/gave himself immunity Week 6
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 4/0/0 - HN 2

4th juror, 9th evicted, Day 58

He got a lot of flak for not being an 'all-star' but many of them technically weren't, and he deserved another shot more than most first boots. He went farther than many expected, but that was mostly due to power group shufflings rather than his own doing, other than the save he earned himself with the Disruptor power. But he blew that by fake crying and bad lying, and he caused a number of rants when he took $10k rather than veto in OTEV. He was an erratic player, often seeming brilliant and clueless in the same moment, but he eventually worked himself into a decent social position against many odds, not the least being Nicole's vote lie. But Memphis finally got his way and got him gone.

Won: Nothing
HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 5/0/0 - HN 2

3rd juror, 8th evicted, Day 58

He went on the block at the start and never recovered. He wouldn't forgive his former idol Janelle from preferring Keesha stay that first week so he tattled on her, which helped to destroy all hope of the outliers banding together to take on the dominant power alliances. Then he became the pawn star and was nominated four more times, winning only one veto himself and once benefiting from Da'Vonne's win. He spent way too much time trying to analyze who was with whom, sometimes accurately but often way off, and he didn't do anything about it anyway. He was perky and snarky in Diary, but on feeds he was mostly miserable and mopey, rarely coming out of his Eeyore gloom.

Won: $5,000
HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 2/0/0 - HN 2

2nd juror, 7th evicted, Day 51

Winning was one goal she didn't achieve, but she was highly successful with her other goal, to raise awareness of the extra challenges Black hamsters face in this game. Those goals conflicted when David tattled a confidence and again when she believed Nicole's lie blaming her vote on David. She made some messy game choices, but she made eloquent, impassioned block speeches, she had compelling in-depth convos, particularly with Kaysar, and she pointed out the frustrating facts when her point was repeatedly proven. She won a huge but teeny tiny veto, and she once again provided endless reaction memes and gifs. She was the heart and soul, and most of the entertainment, of this season.

Won: Safety Suit #2 (Christmas's win)/1 week space skits
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 0/1/0 - HN 2

1st juror, 6th evicted, Day 44

His plan to lay low at first was foiled by the ones who started gaming long before move-in, and his F2 with Nicole was only insurance on her part since she was tighter with the power group. Learning that broke him and it was downhill from there. He showed some entitlement about deserving to win but talked about his struggles learning to lose, which proved him vulnerable and human. He did a superb job with his skits, and talked openly about being on the spectrum, and it was so good to see him again. As before, I wish him well in all he does.

Won: 500 tricycle laps
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1

5th evicted, Day 37

She and Tyler had their ups and downs, repairing their relationship from last time and breaking it up again, and that affected the game in various ways. Her friendship with Janelle was fun to watch, and her friendship with Da'Vonne was golden, the type that will likely last long after this season's forgotten. She gave yoga classes, and she rode 500 backyard laps on a tricycle as a veto repercussion, 40 with only one pedal, and BB didn't even put it on the show. Her great attitude riding those laps, mostly to spite her haters, was a joy to behold.

Won: Safety Suite #1
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 2/0 - HN 1

4th evicted, Day 30

His BB strategy plans have always held promise but implementing them, not so much. But no matter: he was and is a class act, and he always brings the kind of much-needed humanity our feeds are usually lacking in a big way. It's too bad things didn't work out differently this time but it was great to see him on our feeds again, both for himself and for his fun friendship with Janelle.

Won: Safety Suit #1 (Kaysar's win)/1 week star
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1

3rd evicted, Day 23

It was great to see her on feeds again, especially her easy friendship with Kaysar. She was BB6 Janelle again but without the in-your-face name-calling that would have made things more fun for us, but props to her for not going there. It's astounding how hard she was targeted just for showing up, proof that Janellousy is still real.

Won: Nothing
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 1

2nd evicted, Day 16

Imagine going on BB and not wanting to work with Janelle and Kaysar. Having them to go bat for you, hard, and then throwing it back in their faces. It's mind-boggling. She was in way over her head this season, made one bad decision after another, and she repeatedly promised us a house meeting that she never delivered.

Won: Nothing
HOH 0 - Veto 0 - Noms 1/0 - HN 0

1st evicted, Day 9

She was feisty her first time around but like all of them, she's older and more mature now, and her birthday happened before they moved in, so we didn't get any new memorable Keesha scenes. But it was good to see her again and she got a nice check for two weeks isolation and one week of summer camp.

BB22 finalist prizes are $500k for the winner and $50k for 2nd place. 3rd place gets $10k bonus, 4th place gets $7.5k, 5th place gets $5k. All got $40k for showing up, plus $1k stipend per week.

The habitat has 94 HD cameras (no change) and 113 microphones (no change).

The recorded in-house announcements are the voice of producer Don Wollman. He and Julie Chen are the only staffers who have been there since Big Brother 1.

"Position the habitat of your hamster somewhere light and airy, away from drafts, heaters, direct sunlight
and other pets. Never put it on or near a television, radio or hi-fi, or a fridge."
