Daily Feeds Recaps

Day 30 - Thursday 7/18/19

The Comebackers and nominees got to their packing, nominees got to their campaigning - Nicole did anyway, and buzz about the potential blindside kept buzzing. As of this morning, Nick and Bella were still in the dark about it. Sam reported to them that he'd had a long talk with Nicole late last night, and said he'd enjoyed it, until Kemi went into a nearby corner or corridor to cry. Cliff had what was probably his final Cliff Notes talk to us, which included a shout-out to Hamsterwatch - hey Cliff, hey! Kat found out about the blindside plan from Holly, and said she'll still vote to evict Nicole so she can stay in good with Nick and Bella. Kat then agreed with Nick when he told her he thinks it'll be 10-0. Among other live show day salon activities, Nicole got her hair dye and Jessica helped apply it, and Jack shaved his facial hair.

After much footage showing the blindside engineering, it came off as planned and Cliff was evicted on a 6-4 vote. The four were Bella, Sam, Jessica, Kat. In true Kat fashion, she added with her vote that she knew what was going on. We didn't get the shockfaces we've come to expect and love, but Nick was clearly surprised and upset. They did their many hugs, and Julie told Cliff, David, Kemi, Ovi to head to the backyard for their Comeback Comp. That turned out to be a rollyball where they had to maneuver a ball down a squiggly plank, titled Path to Redemption. They had to sink six balls into their chute at the end of the plank to win, or if nobody had six, whoever had the most after three minutes would win. Cliff won easily with 48 seconds to spare, and was instantly revived. Ovi had one, and Kemi and David each had zero.

Julie interviewed the three evictees together, with no references to them all being POC. She pressed David about why he was crying during commercial and he gave props to Cliff for beating him twice, and she asked Ovi why he said he'd felt ostracized. It seemed like she was fishing for one of them to call attention to the elephant in the room (and the biggest news item of the season out here), but none of them rose to her bait. Kemi said the vote had surprised her but she was happy Nicole was safe. Julie told them about the Six and the Eight, and said she'd do an extended interview with them later. She also announced endurance HOH next week.

Feeds came back for a quick flash showing most or all of the nine loudly cross-talking over each other in one room, and Nicole quietly celebrating in another. When feeds came back, Nick was arguing with some of them in one room and Bella in another, and there was much chaos. Most of it was damage control in case Bella were to win HOH, and Tommy went around later doing his own follow-up shmoozing individually, like he does. Bella tried to decree that nobody should talk to Nicole, Jessica, Cliff; the Jacks and Holly debated whether to play nice or go open warfare; Nick and Analyse went back and forth for a long time about the blindside and excuses about it; Christie said it was all due to faulty communication in the alliance; Analyse confronted Cliff about Christie overhearing him say he'd go after her and Jack, and fetched Christie for backup who said she'd heard him say he'd go after any/all of the couples; and Jack kept being Jack by saying "at least Kemi's gone." Feeds went to puppies for their HOH comp a little after 9pm, just as they'd put dinner on the table.

Feeds came back around 11pm and Cliff had won the HOH comp. It sounded like it was questions about comps to date, and he joked that he'd now have the full BB experience. The Jacks plus Analyse discussed what to do, and said they'd tell him there are six people who'd have his back if he'll go after Nick and Bella. Jack was angry as he apparently came close to winning, and said he almost got "his" HOH room back. Jackson told him to "be a big boy and play this fuckin game, get your shit together!" Cliff, knowing the real rules of the game, did a solo victory dance in the pantry and said he was "dancing alone now but I bet I have a lot of people coming to be my dance partners." He also said he loves them all but "there are targets in this house, and we're going to play a slightly different game this week." Kat, Jessica, Nicole compared notes they'd learned about alliances, and they all did the usual post-HOH mad scurrying and whispering, especially Kat who went on a tell-all tour spilling all kinds of things to anyone and everyone. Jackson decided he could/should go up as pawn and utilize Jack and/or Christie's powers, then Jack did too, Jackson and Christie debated telling Cliff about her power, and Christie did tell Nicole and later Jessica about it.

Day 31 - Friday 7/19/19

Cliff got his room at 2.10am and shared his letter from wife Sharon along with a paper flower he'd made for her for Valentine's Day, a loofah, a grocery aisle worth of snacks, beer, and music by George Strait. He offered to share the snacks with anyone who wanted them, and also told said they could all use his room or shower anytime (keep that in mind in case it comes up later in the week). Friday morning he met with Nick and said he wouldn't nominate him or Bella, and said Jack "could very well be" his target. Nick suggested putting up Jackson with Holly or Analyse at first, and "not Christie because of her power" so they all know about that now. Next up was Sam, and Cliff told him Nick/Bella wanted him to go after the six and vice versa. Sam told him how the Eight screwed up and outted themselves to him, which confirmed to him that he was at the bottom. He suggested putting up both Jacks. Bella was next, and Cliff again reiterated he was looking at someone from the Six.

Next up was Jack, who said "do what's best for your game" (drink!) and said if he's one of Cliff's noms, he loves playing veto and either way he'll stand by Cliff's decision. (Reminder, the Jacks came up with a plan to offer one of themselves up because of Jack's and Christie's powers, so they could play veto, and to avoid being renom backoors.) Kat was next and she spilled a lot of info including Ovi's power, and she asked if Jack offered to pawn himself. She reported (incompletely) back to Jackson, they had a small spat, and Jackson got annoyed at Jack because he wanted to be the one to be the pawn.

Noms talks went on hold as their first slop delivery hit the table. It sounded like Cliff assigned Have-nots, though several had volunteered a week or two earlier in case that was coming. Christie, Jackson, Kat, Tommy were the first unlucky quartet, and Tommy, Sam, Jackson, Nick investigated the allowed condiments list and protein drink varieties that were in the pantry. Meetings then picked up again with Christie spouting her honesty, and how she didn't like the way Nick and Bella treated Nicole last week; then Sam for another round; then Holly; and then Jackson.

Jackson said Ovi had asked him and Jack to let Cliff know he'd won the first power and what it did, and Cliff acted like he hadn't heard about that before. Jackson also brought up Black Widows AGAIN, and ran his usual list of clichés about pussyfooting, lemonade, etc. I didn't hear Jackson offer to pawn himself, but he later told others he had. Then it was Nicole's turn and Cliff said "my emotional desire isn't necessarily synching up with my rational desire" and said he may have to work with Nick and Bella this week, and Nicole agreed. Then it was Nick for another round, and Cliff told him he and Bella won't be going up, then Jessica, and then another round for Tommy who pushed for one from each side.

The pantry was restocked and Jack said it seemed like more food was delivered than usual, and Jackson took inventory. Cliff made it pretty clear through all those meetings that Jack would be one nominee but he said various names for the second chair, depending who he was talking to, but all were from the Six. He told us his mind was made up and if it backfires oh well, but he was playing a long game and trying to play it rationally rather than emotionally. He added "if I can't put up the people I want to put up [because powers], I'll have to react on the fly. Let's play this game, let's create some drama." He put the paper flower he'd made that his wife sent to him in his pocket, and the kitties and puppies took them away for noms.

Cliff nominated Jack and Jackson, and after the initial hugs were over and they scattered to their rooms and corners, Tommy gave Jack a big teary hug. Jack then got sniffly, and blamed Tommy for that. Whisperings ran amok all over the habitat with much talk about the two open powers, the veto comp, and assorted other repercussions and what-ifs. Christie made fun of Jack throwing away the cereal boxes Cliff wanted to use for his rocket and helmet to re-enact the moon landing anniversary, and she called him "a fucking goon" and dumb (not to his face). Tommy wanted to rescue the boxes but Sam was afraid it'd make them look like snitches. Nick did rescue them and returned them to Cliff. Me, I'm looking forward to Cliff's moon landing as a kind of bookend to BB1 Chicken George blasting off from the shower, and taking that full circle.

Christie and Tommy rearranged the moldy Camp Comeback mattresses to make a cozier Camp Have-not. Cliff worked on his cereal box helmet, using band-aids as fasteners, and it started coming along. Jackson laid around with Holly, grumbling, especially when cooking smells arrived in their lair - somehow the others managed to make dinner without him. Kat, Christie, Tommy experimented with fried slop nuggets, and Jackson joined them to toast their nuggets to their first night on slop. Nick and Bella did some psst-pssting and future planning, and Tommy did rounds all over town, like he does, and made some extra efforts to prop up Jack in his time of need. Jack did some rationalizing and said he'd be okay if he went home to his doggie, and he said something about two strong guys always going on the block in Week 4. Cliff and Nicole agreed to keep each other posted about what they hear, since they were both pretty much on their own.

Convos circled around nonstop about the veto and the powers and various what-if scenarios. Cliff talked with Bella, who gave him a lot of intel about alliances past, which he already knew. Christie told Tommy she didnt want to use her power to save Jackson, only Jack. Tommy said at various points he wanted to target Cliff, and Sam. Jack weirded out and got all kinds of animated and goony, which might have been entertaining but somehow wasn't, in my opinion anyway. Jackson took his first cold shower and started slop farts already, making his new roomies apprehensive. He also said part of him likes being uncomfortable or in pain, so he was actually very happy at the moment. Holly worried about him sleeping alone since she said he hasn't had night terrors since sleeping with her. Jack finally told Jackson about his power, with Christie, Tommy, Analyse present, stressing they'd be okay this week between that and Christie's power. Christie said she only blabs her own secrets but not anyone else's. Jackson got fired up and said they have to get serious and start winning comps and powers, and stop throwing comps. Jack and Christie pointed out they each had an HOH and a power, and hadn't been throwing anything. Kat told Jackson feeds don't cut away from hamster sex, and said he's probably got pornos out here - Jackson was surprised to learn this.

Day 32 - Saturday 7/20/19

They did their veto draw early, and Jack used his power. The original draw was Holly, Jessica, Sam and the forced redraw picks were Analyse, Kat, Sam. Tommy will host unless another alum comes in and bumps him again. Feeds came back to talk about the snake grabbing comp, more retells of how they did in it, and Jack finally able to boast about how quickly he completed it. Cliff said he planned to do his moon landing re-enactment tonight, after the veto comp and related hubbub are over. Drama broke out about Bella again, as apparently Jessica said that Bella had said Kat had the power, so retells and angst happened all over about that. Nick griped to Christie that he was afraid Bella would "drag him down with her" and Christie did her shmooze thing in response.

Jackson griped about not being able to sleep, and not having eaten real food since Thursday, and having a sore neck. Holly agreed the bed wasn't comfy but said she liked the room decor as it reminded her of home, and Jackson's roomies griped about his gag-inducing farts. Jackson told Holly he thought Kat is highly intelligent but socially inept, because she told Jackson about her and Holly's outside connections, which in turn upset Holly. Holly explained that she's friends with one of Holly's best friends, and they have mutuals in "another community, besides Rockstar," and Holly said if either of them screw over the other one on TV, it'd be "not a good look." Elaborate plans and speculation about Christie's power and if/how she'll use it raged on everywhere, but I don't follow those closely as they'll all happen again after the comp, when they know what the actual situation is.

Feeds were down about three and a half hours and when they came back, Jackson had won the veto. It sounded like they had to change clothes while on a jet ski, holding a button - similar to a Roadkill comp a couple years ago - and then jump into some water? Something like that. Jackson was proud of his performance and retold his technique in great detail. Jack said he finished dead last, Kat did well, and Cliff also did well, but hurt his calf. He said it wasn't a big deal, but he was limping and had a hard time maneuvering the spiral stairs. Jackson assumed Christie would use her power, and told Jack "Bella's going up."

Christie and Tommy shmoozed Kat and Jessica in Camp Have-not, telling them about the Eight and how they became the Six after cutting Nick and Bella. She said she wanted to use her power so Bella would go up and out, adding "Bella is toxic," and she said she was afraid Cliff would put up Tommy if she doesn't use it. Christie turned on the tears and kept talking about being under so much pressure. Various others joined, and Jackson told her to chill, saying the blood would be on his hands if she invokes her power. Christie said it's still her power and there's a lot of pressure on her, "a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot." Jackson also mentioned again that he was very happy because he likes being uncomfortable. Later Jack, Jackson, and several others griped about Christie's drama, and Sam told Cliff and Bella everything Christie had been saying. Jackson wore his veto long after the fact (I'm sorry, but Kat did it better.) Christie later talked with Nicole, telling her she'd saved her last week because she doesn't like anyone feeling ganged up on. She did not mention that she was one of the ones leading that gang-up charge.

Nicole filled in Jessica about the earlier Have-not meeting, and that Holly had said Jessica "tends to lie about things." They ran vote scenarios with chess pieces, and Nicole said she was still playing for herself despite the Six having saved her, because she knew she'd be at the bottom at that heap. Bella sobbed to Nick about the pressure she was under, and about disappointing her parents, and said they never said they're proud of her. Christie told Jack and Tommy that Bella was faking and just upset because she knew she'd be going up. Nick joined them and said Bella was very upset, which also broke up the Jacks/Tommy/Christie meeting that was about to happen to discuss her power.

Christie went to talk to Cliff and said a lot of words, and finally asked his thoughts. He said he liked Nick personally, but "Bella is just a cancer, like Kemi." Christie told him she learned last night that Jackson was the hinky vote, and she said Bella had a boyfriend before going in there and hooking up with Nick, and she and Tommy didn't want to stick with the Six til the end. Cliff said if she doesn't use her power, he'd probably renom Holly or Analyse, and swore he wouldn't put up Tommy or Christie. Christie again reiterated and swore she and Tommy wouldn't go to the end with "those other couples." Cliff suggested putting up Bella as renom himself so Christie could save her power, and he said it would require trust on her part that he'd go through with it. They said they'd shake hands on it later if they decided to go that route, and they'd give Nick a heads up as well. Christie then reported to Jack, and later Tommy, Jackson, Analyse, embellishing more every time. Jack reported to Jackson and Holly, and said the plan they'd discussed earlier about bringing in Kat and Nicole to form a new Eight was now on hold, and he later told Tommy the same about the new Eight.

*** PLEASE NOTE *** Cliff and Nick, with Bella present, this morning discussed Cliff lying to the Six and saying he'd put up Bella, and then if Christie doesn't use her power, he'd put up Holly or Tommy - Flashback 7/20 10.58am. It goes along with all of Cliff's pre-nom meetings and talks to us about wanting to take a shot at the Six, and using Nick and Bella to do so. Also Cliff's daughter Kelly tweeted that any swears on the family were null and void, and he should go for it.. heh.

Cliff finally did his moon landing re-enactment, and it was wonderful (7/20 9.42pm). Nicole and Tommy decorated themselves with makeup and tinfoil, everyone gathered round the RV door, and Cliff narrated the landing into a coffee can to sound authentically like 50-year-old technology. Then he stepped from the "capsule" with his flag and tinfoil-clad Orwell and spoke the famous words "one small step for man, a giant leap for mankind." He moon-leaped a couple times, sore leg and all, and then he named and thanked the crew Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins for their huge and historic achievement 50 years ago. Most of them stayed to talk about the US space program past and present, and it was handy Cliff was there to clear up misconceptions by the young'uns.

Tommy and Kat made ice cream by putting milk, sugar, and other allowed condiments into a baggie, then packed it with ice in a coffee can and rolled it back and forth. Surprising everyone, it worked and it was a hit. Psst-pssting of course carried on and on, including a whisper marathon between Nick and Bella, but I gave that one a pass. There was a lot of debate about inviting Kat to be the seventh in the Six, which Jackson didn't like. I think it was even mentioned to Kat at one point but I lost track (sorry). It's still a long time til the veto meeting Monday but it could be an exciting afternoon depending what happens - Cliff might even put up Christie. Or the whole plan could fall through by then. We'll find out soon enough.

Day 33 - Sunday 7/21/19

BB let them sleep later than usual today, and Jack and Analyse started their day by landing on the sex events tally again. Christie wasted no time revving up her loops again retelling her convo with Cliff plus embellishments. I thought she'd told all of her crew last night but if so, they let her go on and on anyway. Everyone out here waited anxiously for a new installment of Cliff Notes, HOH edition, to see what he was planning to do but alas, it either didn't happen or wasn't on feeds. So we wait.

Cliff and Nicole finally sat down to talk a little game. He did not tell her about his talk with Nick about lying to Christie, but did say he'd like to meet with Nicole later to talk over options if Christie doesn't use her power. He said he was up much of the night wondering whether to boot Bella now, or keep her to use this week to take a big shot at the Six. He said he thought Christie will use her power, and that he'd told Christie if she doesn't, he wouldn't put up her or Tommy, and he'd let her choose between Holly and Analyse. The two of them (Cliff and Nicole) reiterated and re-agreed on their Final Two deal. Tommy joined, and Cliff told some fascinating stories about the space program, with anecdotes from people he's known who've worked for them in Houston.

Cliff then met in his room with Tommy, who said his plan going in was to align with a "bigger target" than himself, and that was Jack. Cliff said he wouldn't break a promise to Christie if he makes one, because if he did, he could go ahead and put up her or Tommy and he'd "never do that." Jack joined them and Cliff said he's worried about both Jacks being against him going forward, and the three of them had an integrity-off, all talking about their words and their scruples. Christie arrived right on cue to join in on that. Then it was Jackson's turn, and Cliff again said he "wouldn't turn around and put up Holly or Sis, or even Christie" if he'd agreed to renom Bella. Cliff then met with Nicole for quickie retells, and he said his gut was telling him Christie's using her power. Nicole implied Cliff should force her to do so, to get the power done with. She also said if Christie doesn't use it and Cliff puts up someone else "it's just gonna cause a firestorm." Cliff said "yeah, I know it, I know it."

Nick then came along and ran a 100mph history retell of how he and Bella were informally ejected from the Eight. Nick said Christie would be an idiot to use the power now, and Cliff said "she's just so emotional." Nick also said, inaccurately, the Six "have Nicole wrapped around their finger," and said they could get five votes to force a tie and boot Jack if they could get Jessica, Kat, Nicole votes along with his and Sam's. Cliff then met with Kat and asked how she'd vote if it was Bella versus Jack. Kat said she was more threatened by Bella and "she's a filthy player." Kat also said she saw through the Six pretending she was part of their group. But she said if she went against Jack this week, her entire game would blow up. Cliff again said he wasn't the kind of person who'd turn around and put up Christie or Tommy, or Holly or Analyse, if he'd promised not to.

Cliff didn't let on to any of them (or us) that it was obvious Christie had blabbed to the Six about his and her meeting yesterday. Unfortunately we didn't get any Cliff Notes through all that to learn if he was shmoozing everyone or not. He did say at one point "wow, few different options.. I looooove Big Brother, fail or succeed, I love Big Brother."

Whoa, sorry about all that unnecessary detail! I got caught up in all the unknowns and went overboard - back to my usual capsulizing and niche content.

There was some issue between Nick and Analyse, which she made Tommy and Christie swear not to repeat when she repeated it to them, that Christie started the alliance of five out of paranoia that Jack would put her on the block way back at the beginning, and of course that traveled around some. Christie said her butt was bleeding, and Tommy said it was okay as long as it was light and not dark. Others diagnosed it as hemorrhoids. In the Deja Vu department, Jackson told Tommy and Analyse he was going to make "an executive decision" to cut things off with Holly. He said she'd become concerned about having sex on feeds, and he was tired of her going back and forth about that. He repeated his usual lines a few times about how he's got no emotions in there and doesn't take things personally. Not long after taking his cucumber to the toilet on the air show, Jackson bounced a slop ball off the floor and then ate it.

Jackson delivered his "executive decision" to Holly in the hammock, telling her it's Day 32 (it's Day 33) and "there's 67 days til feeds are no longer a thing. I know it's a tough decision for you to make so I'm just trying to you help you out and make it for you." Holly didn't take it as well as Kat when he dumped her, but she wasn't very effective at getting him to elaborate or even discuss it. He said "I'll just pull the plug for you, it's not a big deal" and she said they could just be smarter about time and place for sexytime. He said there's cameras and microphones everywhere, and that he wasn't taking things personally. She said "well I am." Others in the yard wandered by here and there and Jackson talked with them like everything was fine and normal. They were talking about what great shape Jackson was in at move-in, and things derailed further. Holly peeked into his shirt and said "I miss the old Michie." He said "fuck off!" and got up and went up to Camp Have-not.

Holly followed him, and he said he was over today and he was going to bed. She said she hoped he's in a better mood tomorrow, and he said "I don't sit there and crack jokes, especially if you have or had not had any sort of issues or whatever in your past." She said she'd been kidding, and he said "I mean people talk about you having eating disorders.. I don't wanna fuckin talk about it, I'm going to bed, good night." She left, then returned again with a slop cookie for him, and he said "if you had an eating disorder for five years I wouldn't talk shit to you either." She said she doesn't like to joke about things like that, and had said something insensitive but she'd been joking. He said it wasn't the first time she'd said something like that but it was "the fucking last." He said she'd hit a nerve and he wouldn't talk about it anymore, and he told her not to "run her mouth" to anyone else about it.

Earlier Nicole had sent a message to Cliff's family about what a great guy he is, and he was her Final Two, and he deserved to get to the end. Later she told Nick, Bella, Sam that Christie had said she didn't want to use her power if Cliff was putting up Bella anyway, "but that doesn't have to be the case" (meaning he could put up someone else). Cliff had a long gametalk with Jessica, and when she finally left he told us he was trying to find a path through, and he "may go up in flames or down in flames but either way, I love Big Brother." Christie had a long gametalk with Kat, and they were joined by Bella who sobbed through part of it.

Nicole, with Jessica present, asked Cliff if he'd thought about pulling a backstab. He said he'd thought about all kinds of devious things but he'll stick to his word, else his word would mean nothing going forward. He met with Christie and she said she'll use her power, they agreed they didn't want Bella in the jury, and Jackson had already said he'll put her up. So bottom line, unless Cliff's got some devious plan up his sleeve like he did for noms, good for him, but bad for Team Fun Feeds.

Big Brother 21 SEASON FAQ
Day 1 Move-in was June 19
Day 7 CBS premiere was June 25
Day 8 Feeds began June 26
Day 99 Finale is September 25

Feeds are streamed by CBS, and Flashback is accessible via All Access subscription. Call 888-274-5343 for account help, including cancellation.

*Effective July 10* Air shows on CBS (Global in Canada) are Sundays 8pm, Wednesdays 9pm, eviction Thursdays 9pm.

Big Brother After Dark on Pop TV will be every night midnight to 3am (an hour later on Wednesdays and Thursdays). The aired blocks are live (or recorded earlier the same night, depending on your cable provider).

The CBS app (by CBS Interactive) plays BB air shows and other CBS shows, as well as feeds, or you can use your browser to watch feeds on mobile devices. The same All Access link used to subscribe will lead to the feeds viewing page if you're already signed up.

BB21 finalist prizes are the same: $500k for the winner and (probably still) $50k for 2nd place. Stipend for the others to be confirmed if/when they mention it on feeds.

The habitat has 94 HD cameras (no change) and 113 microphones (no change).

The recorded in-house announcements are the voice of producer Don Wollman. He and Julie Chen are the only staffers who have been there since Big Brother 1.
