If you're a friend or relative of someone on the show and stumbled across this site, I urge you to take a moment to read my unsolicited advice for friends and families, which includes links to superb write-ups by a few folks who were in your shoes in previous seasons. This fanbase is like no other and while it's all fun and exciting now, things have a tendency to turn brutal. Pace yourself, don't feel you have to defend your person or answer to anyone on social media, and save things your person might want to see when they get home - there will be mountains of it, so get a system set up early.

We subsequently found out via feeds that first nominations happened today

The second premiere had Camp Director Jackson selecting Cliff, Kemi, Jessica, David to be "banished" and a giant creepy squirrel dragged each of them out of the house. Those four competed together in the black box camp maze comp, with several wrong side paths and hazards. Cliff finished first and rejoined the house, followed by Kemi and Jessica, leaving David "out of the Big Brother house - for now" per Julie. He did not get an exit interview, and later Julie told us we haven't seen the last of him, and "something that has never happened before will happen live" on Wednesday's show.

Then Camp Director Jackson assigned the pairs to compete in the first HOH: Kathryn/Jack, Sam/Nicole, Holly/Ovi, Isabella/Nick, Analyse/Cliff, Tommy/Jessica, Christie/Kemi. They had to hang on to vertical logs, with the last one still hanging the winner. The logs spun and yet more paint was thrown at them. Jessica came off first (although the feeds leak last week said Kathryn?), and it finally came down to Christie and Tommy. Tommy dropped and Christie became the first HOH - but you knew that already.

Alliance roulette was underway throughout the show, though whether any of those first day(s) teams will last remains to be seen, and Christie and Tommy talked a bit more in their Diaries about knowing each other and pledging to work together. Julie told us Sunday's show will feature a Whacktivity Comp for "a game-changing secret power" and again, hinted that David might rebound back in, or something. I hope so: nobody likes these pre-feeds boots!

Feeds kicked on right on time - a few seconds early in fact. Most were in the kitchen prepping or winding up a feeding frenzy, Isabella was giving Mandarin lessons, and of course David was grayed out on the photo wall. We learned that Kathryn and Cliff were nominated, which is what Christie was planning in last week's audio leak (with Kathryn her target, and Cliff as pawn she was sure wouldn't go home). Jessica joined Kathryn to say she thought alliances were forming, and she didn't trust Jackson. Jessica also said she's an empath. Kathryn said she wanted to talk to Holly about it, but doesn't know if she should make waves while on the block.

Veto had not yet been played, and there was a lot of talk about who might get picked to play for it. All of them except Kathryn played a lengthy pretzel/human knot game, and it seemed like maybe it's something they've been doing regularly. When they finally unlocked themselves they cheered, and Isabella said everyone should wash their hands. Kathryn reported to Jackson that Jessica said she'd seen him and Isabella talking and was concerned about alliances. Jackson said they were just chatting, and he assured Kathryn that Isabella wasn't plotting against her, and they "have to keep the veto out of Kemi's hands."

They'd done their Whacktivity comp but we don't know who won or what they won - we did hear that everyone didn't play in it. Both the backyard and HOH were closed so there was a lot of laying around and cuddling in the lounge, and chatting in the kitchen and bathroom. Jack told Sam and Nick he's got Ovi "eating out of his hand" and he can push his vote however he wants. Jack and Christie were quite cozy most of the night (recall she said she wouldn't be against using feminine wiles), and there was some gossip about Ovi allegedly making Analyse feel uncomfortable. Kemi told Isabella who she thought the alliances were, but she didn't have it entirely accurate, and she didn't seem to realize she's in serious jeopardy.

They drew veto players a little after midnight: Christie, Cliff, Kathryn will play along with Jack, Nicole, Sam, and Tommy will host. Christie confirmed she's okay with putting up Kemi as renom if needed, but Jack, Nick, Sam discussed wanting to get Kathryn out. It's very early days yet, and just the first night of our marathon: all will become clear in time.

If you missed what's come before, the ever-present "previous Hamsterwatch episode" link way up top can always get you caught up.

As always, THANK YOU for reading the site, for following me on Twitter, and more thanks than are in the world for all the donations and kind words on the GFM.. you guys are simply the very best!

Day 9 - Thursday 6/27/19

They chit-chatted here and there as they prepped and waited for their veto comp. Unfortunately we already have some problematic talk, an upset fanbase, and potential TMZ mentions. Aside from Jackson selecting three hamsters of color plus "the old guy" on Day 1, we now have several of them targeting Kemi, and Jack and Christie talked about how glad they were that David went first. Jack referred to him as "Swaggy" and Christie said "the irony that he was reading that book, flaunting it around." The only books they're allowed are personal Bibles/Korans/etc and their rules book, and I don't know which this referred to, nor do I know why Jack referred to him as "Swaggy" - that was possibly early days arrogance? But it's not a good look regardless.

Along with that, we've got several of them badmouthing Ovi and again, alluding to him allegedly crushing on and bothering Analyse. She said "he's starting to get touchy and I'm like get the fuck away from me! If you're hot you can touch me." Again, we're coming in late and we don't know what's happened before now, and also a reminder that Ovi has a girlfriend he seems devoted to. And last night Jack referred to Ovi as "blue flame - uh, brown flame." Hopefully all will become clearer in time, hopefully this all isn't as blatant as it appears, and hopefully we aren't heading into a season that's volatile in all the wrong ways.

Tommy said he was so excited to host the veto comp that he might not do a good job of it. Feeds went down for the comp around 10.15am, and the good news is Puppycam is back for comp blocks! Along with Kittycam and Bunnycam and maybe more species cams, all featuring anipals adoptable from Rancho Coastal Humane Society. This remains one of the very best things BB has ever done and I'm really pleased they brought it back. Who doesn't like watching puppies and kitties playing?

Feeds came back just before 5pm and Sam had won the veto. They said it was hard but fun, it sounds like it had a lot of action, and Kaycee was there to host (sorry, Tommy). They did individual runs (which explains the lengthy downtime) that involved catching onions, meatballs, and strawberries, running, sliding, table-sliding, goop, rain, giant lettuce, and other hazards. Kathryn had another crying session afterwards, disappointed she did poorly and certain she'd be leaving, and said she didn't want to be blindsided or reverse backdoored - I don't know. Holly and Jackson told her she'd be fine, and people wanted Kemi gone. Renom talks began in earnest, with Sam telling Jack and Nick he'd like to take Cliff off the block since he's been in every comp so far and deserves a break.

Several of them sang Happy Birthday to Cliff's son Daniel. Cliff choked up a bit and said "Daniel, I'm so proud of the man you've become." He also made a happy birthday message on a shirt with rice, and later they made and ate cake in his honor. A lot of chatter turned to food as they began to forage and await the backyard.

Pretty much everyone knew about the plan to put up Kemi as renom except Kemi. Jessica and Nicole discussed how it wouldn't look good, and they hoped the veto wouldn't be used, and they'd talk to Christie about it. Meanwhile Sam told Cliff he would use it on him, and he asked Cliff to act shocked when he does. It sounded like Cliff, Isabella, Kathryn, Nick, Nicole, Ovi competed in Whacktivity, and there's a roster for which of the others would play in each of the next two Whacktivities. Several of them had a dining room workout, and Kathryn mostly stayed in bed and cried whenever someone visited. Jackson told Christie he and Kathryn had sex "a few nights ago" and added that he wouldn't pursue a relationship there, and he didn't want her to feel used, but it put him in an exclusive club, "how many people can say they did it in the Big Brother house?"

Most of them herded, cuddled, and chatted through the evening, then with a burst of energy they choreographed Diary hallway dances for voting. Christie cried to Tommy that she has nothing against Kemi but doesn't want everyone mad at her, she doesn't want to play Jackson's or Jack's or anyone/everyone else's game, and she didn't know what to do. Tommy said she maybe shouldn't rock the boat at this point as it would turn everyone against her. Kemi joined but they didn't settle anything, and later Christie repeated her Jack/Jackson concerns to Holly and Analyse. Sam said he'd heard if you scream something it'll help you remember it, so they planned to scream their days studying in the morning - good luck with that, early risers.

Day 10 - Friday 6/28/19

They woke up in stages, like they do, and Cliff had a nice chat to us about his game and position in it (he was pleased he seems to have hit his first goal: sticking long enough to start to get to know everyone), he apologized to feedsters for the lengthy downtime for the veto comp, he said he thinks some people might know each other, and he said he felt bad about joining the anti-Ovi campaign but felt he had to for his own safety. A lot of chit-chat and stories-exchanging went on, including Nick bashing Matt and Raven. Christie held various talks about the veto, not wanting to play the guys' games, and not wanting to blindside anyone with her renom. Ovi was added to that shortlist, along with Kemi. Many are accounting for future Whacktivity rosters as they discuss plans - I'm still not clear on how that worked (or who won what on this first one), but we'll find out Sunday's show.

Tommy and Christie talked about the veto, and it sounded like Christie will stick with the group plan to put up Kemi so everyone doesn't get mad and target her next. They compared hamsters to people they know, and agreed to fake their Final Three with Jack for now. Christie and Sam talked and he reaffirmed his plan to veto Cliff, and Christie told Kathryn she'll probably stay on the block. Tommy and Bella did some origami with Nick, and Kemi told Nicole she felt like she was going to be backdoored. The backyard finally opened, the swimsuits came out to lay around the pool, and it finally started to feel like BB summer.

Afternoon into evening was the typical hamster cycle of sunning, eating, gossiping. Analyse told Nick she was a college soccer star, and Christie told everyone she hadn't already told that she likes girls. Sam told Jack that neither Kemi, Ovi, Jessica, or Nicole had approached him about the veto, and Jack said that's because they aren't gamers - never mind that he's been gunning for Kemi for playing too hard. Christie told Sam, re tanning, "you are black, man! I need to get like very, very dark, as close to black as possible, but not like quite black." They all ate family dinner together, proving they're still in the early season kumbaya phase, despite a lot of one-on-one whispering.

Bella re-pierced her nose with a ring supplied by Christie, and it was graphic. Jack and Kemi had a talk that was partly personal but mostly game. He said he didn't want to play too hard too soon, and she alluded to a past experience she didn't want to talk about. Meanwhile Christie repeated her "it's not The Jack Show" mantra to Analyse, and said she didn't need to backdoor Kemi. Analyse replied "then don't do it!" Most of the others were perturbed to hear Jack and Kemi had been talking together. Jackson assured Kathryn she'll probably be safe, and Jack led workout class. Bella and Nick exchanged notes while watching workout class, Bella said Christie told her Jack's been pitching some side deals, and suggested it might be better for them to keep Kemi over Kat. Bella had a similar convo with Tommy, saying Jack was taking over Christie's HOH and Kemi might be better for them to keep than Kat.

Jack met with Christie and reported his convo with Kemi, and Christie said she wanted to make sure they're all on the same page, and that Bella is "obviously with Kemi, or Nick" rather than with them. Eventually Jackson, Holly, Analyse joined them, and Christie in particular griped about Bella, and Nick, and they agreed to act like they're all good now but they'll cut those two sooner than later and move forward as six (with Tommy). Kat also joined and asked if they were conspiring against her, and they tried again to assure her she's safe. Ovi joined, and asked if they'd talked to Nick and Bella about evicting Kemi. Meanwhile Nick told Tommy that he and Bella "hooked up" (made out with some fondling, it sounded like), but was hoping he could get with Analyse. Tommy said he already knew (about Bella), then scrambled to say he couldn't remember who told him.

A "cake" of sorts was made and they sang Happy Birthday for Nicole's dad. She gave a speech saying how much her family means to her and now they're all family too, she got emotional, and they piled in for a group hug.

Get the feeds to watch it all unfold live and/or with flashback! If you missed what's come before, check the feeds updates in Hamsterwatch Forum by @UGotBronx, and/or the ever-present "previous Hamsterwatch episode" link way up top for my previous recaps.
