Celebrity BB: UK versus USA
I'll keep this CBB info posted on the page as we go, but will move it down below my USA recaps in a day or two

Use Hide My Ass to watch from outside the UK.. there are loads of other VPNs out there but I use and recommend HMA because it's safe, secure, and easy to use (just select a UK server), available for multiple platforms, plus they have great customer service for questions or problems.. I get a small commission if you sign up using my link, so thanks in advance

You can watch live at Channel 5's online stream link.. the official site has archive air shows and talk shows, highlights, info, and air show schedules - remember UK time is 8 hours ahead of Pacific and 5 hours ahead of Eastern

The series premiered August 27.. the cast, their claims to "fame" and eviction order are as follows

Team UK
Sherrie Hewson soap actress, "Loose Women" panelist
Natasha Hamilton Atomic Kitten girl band
Gail Porter TV host
Chris Ellison actor
Stevi Ritchie & Chloe-Jasmine "The X Factor" contestants, engaged couple playing as one
James Hill "The Apprentice" contestant
Bobby Davro actor - joined Day 2

Team USA
Fatman Scoop rapper
Austin Armacost model, "The A List New York" reality personality
Jenna Jameson porn star
Farrah Abraham teen mom, sex tape star
Tila Tequila - "social media mogul," reality personality - ejected Day 2
Daniel Baldwin actor
Janice Dickinson model, reality personality - joined Day 2

Day 77 - Wednesday 9/2
Rolly-ball
They got a practice apparatus which they assumed was for tomorrow's HOH comp.. it might be, or it might be for the veto or the second HOH comp after the double eviction they still aren't expecting tomorrow - most of them think it'll be next week.. it was an L-shaped, banked rolly-ball chute, and most of them seemed to do pretty well on it - in other words, "crap shoot"

Meg and Julia each did some packing, some speech writing/rehearsing, and some campaigning.. campaign meetings were quick and not very persuasive, whether they were talking to someone who was or wasn't planning to vote for either.. there was some talk of Johnny and Steve flipping their votes, both by them and by/with others, but I don't think it's going to happen: Meg is most likely to walk the plank as of now

The atmosphere has changed overall, and they didn't play Wednesday bowling or Pot Ball or Sling Ball for the first time in weeks.. Twitter altercations between various factions of this "community" have been more lively and more entertaining than the feeds the last few days

Day 76 - Tuesday 9/1
Operation Trojan Horse
The camera came out and they did their poses.. there isn't nearly the amount of squealing, screaming, or enthusiasm there used to be for this weekly ritual but being hamsters, they don't need very much encouragement to duckface for selfies

Meg and James hatched an overnight plan they dubbed Trojan Horse, after long James/Austin and Meg/Steve gametalks, in which they'd try to get Austin to vote out Julia along with James and Johnny, and blame Austin's vote on Steve.. miraculously, Vanessa hinted around to Steve today about this exact scenario - go figure

The not-so-phantom wall shouter showed up again, hollering when James, Johnny, Meg were in the backyard.. they thought they heard "Austin wants Julia out".. the shouter says the full message was "Vote out Julia, America wants Julia out, Austin and Vanessa have deals with everyone".. I have pretty good headphones and I heard nothing - Flashback 9/1 9.13pm

BB waited until 9.20pm to shoo them inside (and kept them in there the rest of the night).. the Goblins plus Johnny told the others there was shouting but they didn't say what they'd heard.. Vanessa's face indicated she was nervousing pretty bad, and they all set to scurrying shortly afterwards, hatching and plotting and arranging voter protection rackets

Julia sat down for a campaign session with Johnny that lasted all of 45 seconds or so.. she basically asked what his vote would cost and he said she had it anyway, but a safe pass if she wins HOH would be nice, and she agreed.. later she told Austin, Liz, Vanessa, and Steve.. I'm not sticking around for the late night HOH scenario running session(s), but will catch up on Wednesday if anything "important" comes up

Day 75 - Monday 8/31
Pleas and no thank you
James and Meg each had yet more plea sessions with Vanessa before the veto meeting, to no avail, of course - Vanessa was set on putting up Julia next to Meg when James used his veto on himself, and that's exactly what happened

Could Steve and Johnny flip and vote out Julia on Thursday? Of course they could, and they might.. I still think if that happens, it'll be because Vanessa decrees it, but I'm content to just let it play out (I have to be, since I have no other choice)

Meg and James stayed in their dental office much of the day and the rest of them puttered around and ate or napped, like they do, or in the case of Austin and Liz, engaged in adult activities.. Vanessa had a talk with Johnny where she dropped a few subtle anti-Julia seeds under the guise of next week, but we know she doesn't always mean exactly what (or when) she says.. she tried to sit down with Steve at the chess board but Julia joined them so there wasn't much gametalk there

It turned out to be game night again but there was no Pot Ball or bowling with all of them.. instead they played segregated again: Meg continued learning pool from James, and the others played chess.. honestly that's about it for the night, at least that caught my attention

On the other hand, Celebrity BB is off the charts insane, volatile, hilarious, and extra trainwrecky, and they're still only in the first week.. it's only an hour a day for the main show and they do well with the edits.. a year ago this week Utopia feeds began, and they had a fantastic first week too - BB16 feeds had settled down to a (very) dull roar but our present hamsters keep spinning their wheels, so it's a good thing we don't have another 24/7 alternative to try to keep up with this year

I sure do miss the overnight Utopia feeds though - not just the food fights and drunken hamsters, but the wildlife around their beautiful habitat after they finally passed out often made for spectacular watching

LINES OF THE DAY
James: Leave me a memorable
Meg: Memorabilia? You have my hoodie!

Julia: I would never have agreed to be a pawn if I'd known how shitty this would feel

Tuesday
Vanessa to Steve: I want to pose a question I never want to leave this room, have you ever thought it's in Austin's incentive for Julia to go home?

Vanessa to Steve: It's sinister, but.. but.. Austin told you about the Judas stuff, did he tell you the other thing? No? I can't say

Vanessa: Do you think James is 100% going to gun for me?
Steve: No

Julia to Liz: If I leave this Thursday I would never forgive Vanessa for putting me up

James to Johnny: We need to get a team together, we're not gonna make it if we don't team up with somebody

Vanessa to Austin, Steve: Does anyone notice, by the way, how much time Johnny Mac spends with [James, Meg]? Also he has a weird look on his face

Monday
Vanessa: They made me make half the house Have-nots, and they made me nominate almost half the house

Ratings are based on entertainment value, or something

Dear Powers That Be, Would it kill you to proofread? I'm going to run out of room on the Goofs Tally if this keeps up. You're a respected major media corporation with stockholders to answer to. It doesn't look good. I had another rant here but I deleted it. It was the kind of thing ranting wouldn't change. So just carry on, I guess. Your pal, dingo PS Everlasting super big ups for the good quality and lack of excessive feeds blocks this year. PPS Seeing the latest feeds poll, jazz hands or bunny ears in the photobooth, I figured it out. You've been letting little Charlie Moonves come up with these choices, haven't you? He'd be about six by now, so a healthy interest in hula hoops, pool toys, and ring pops makes perfect sense. It's nice of Julie to bring him to work and give him something important to do.

Dear Austin, I know you think this will help your wrestling, fitness and/or entertainment career. I hate to break it to you, but it might not. You're not exactly flavor of the week with most of your future public. Then again, I'm not good at calling these things, so never mind. I'm also not good at predicting staying power of BB showmances, so don't ask me about that situation, but you might want to avoid The Early Days archives when she said she didn't like you and was only going along with it for game. Your pal, dingo

WON/USED VETO ON SELF
Dear James, You're really fun when you get going, and you've shown you'll make the proverbial 'big moves' we often hear about. Here's hoping you're in a position to make some on Thursday (and I don't mean shaking Julie's hand). Just please get out of the dental chair a bit more often. Your pal, dingo PS You are a very lot better without Jeff. I thought you would be and I'm glad you didn't prove me wrong. PPS See John, re viewer favorite money.

Won: 1 week Wackstreet
Dear John, This isn't a typical Dear John letter, but I am hoping for and expecting more from you. Snappy Diary sessions are one thing but they don't have any bearing on winning this particular game. They might be a factor in winning the viewer favorite money if either you or James are in the final two. If you're both in the jury, it'll be a majorly split vote and the $25k will probably go to somebody like Becky or Jackie. So please step up the gameplay, the scampering, and the 'big moving' and get this show on the road. Your pal, dingo

NOMINATED
Dear Julia, I think you're The Fun One but my opinion doesn't count for squat. Your roomies might be about to send you to live with Becky, Shelli, and Jackie but don't worry about it, you'll have more company soon. At least you're getting out with a better reputation than your sister. If only you'd catch them canoodling sometime, maybe you could knock some sense into her about cameras and feeds and screenshots and the like. Your pal, dingo

Dear Liz, See Julia. You haven't done anything wrong, you and Austin are both consenting adults, et cetera, and a lot of hamsters before you have done a whole lot more in there with a whole lot less brouhaha about it. But for some reason, your sexcapades have become major crimes and a National Crisis. I only caution you about this because you have talked in the past like you care. Some wouldn't. So just consider this a friendly warning because Hickeygate, Fingergate, and the rest aren't going to go away when the finale credits roll. Your pal, dingo

NOMINATED
Dear Meg, You've been a breath of fresh air on our feeds and most love you even though you've been the Ultimate Summer Camper. And that's pretty good - usually Summer Campers are scorned. But let's be honest here. Competitions aren't everything, but hamsters who don't win competitions have to do something besides stay propped up in a dental chair for days on end, especially when you know how much jeopardy you're in, and I know you do. Knowing what's going on and who's in charge isn't enough - just ask Becky, Shelli, Jackie, Jason, or Da'Vonne. Get out there and play this game! Your pal, dingo

  |

Dear Steve, You're either crazy like a fox and you're going to dazzle all of them and all of us with unforeseen late season wizardry, or you're as much in Vanessa's pocket as you appear to be. I am hoping for the former, and I hope you don't disappoint me. She won't let you win this thing over her, you know. Your pal, dingo

HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD
Dear Vanessa, You've played the hell out of this game, thus far anyway, and that's commendable. You've herded your sheep into little corrals and you've sent the disobedient ones away. You've done it with psychological warfare and that's allowed in this game, but you won't admit it, at least not that we've seen. The fake tears, the demanding of Words, the unnecessary Reasons, and the guilt-tripping of those who have or might step out of line would be hilarious if you didn't appear to be as delusional about it all as you do. Own up to it, give yourself a little pat on the back or a chuckle, and viewers as well as those you've trampled will applaud you, loudly. But this way it's just exhausting, and sad. Your pal, dingo PS Regarding your plan to publish BB17 strategy blogs, anyone can explain events and make themselves look good after the fact. But please be advised that by October, the vast majority of viewers will only remember your awful green hat, your tears, and your demands.

Won: $10,000; Never Not pass; Outback dinner (guest)
She came in with that incredible train/tram story and a good attitude about it, and she called herself 'Basic Becky' which fit well when she talked about recipes, dogs, and her daily tasks and procedures at work. But she proved to be a comp beast and she lived up to her billing as Black Friday Boss when she openly targeted Vanessa. Unfortunately for her, everyone turned tail on that plan and Becky was demoted to the after-Christmas returns desk. She should have gone on a dating show but she gave us some fun with Becky Updates - even Olive Garden got in on that. She can laugh at herself and those ones are always appreciated.

Won: 1 week 6 days knight; 24 hours polishing by Vanessa
She came in as a stuntcast cross-promo opp with Jeff and she was easily the better of that duo, even if she was barely seen for weeks. She had a better grasp of this show and game than he did, and she talked some big talk but didn't get a chance for us to see if she'd put it in action or not. She did her costume week with a good attitude, and she was a good-natured participant in most of their non-game activities. She gave us some behind-the-scenes 'Amazing Race' info which was fun and different. Like Victoria last year, she doesn't need all that fake hair but at least hers stayed in pretty good shape most of the time.

  |

Won: 2,400 battles
She's the type who had Star of the Season potential but she didn't quite make the cut. She was volatile, emotional, controlling, and prone to hissy fits, and she took most things personally. But she was also an unexpected comp beast, especially on the endurance wall, and she wasn't afraid to make 'big moves' even if Vanessa had a heavy hand in most of them. She did her 2,400 battles largely (and surprisingly) without complaint, and she gained some hard-earned respect with that. Her thing with Clay was odd and uncomfortable to watch, and she easily won Death Race 2015 with her curious and unflattering taped-in extensions.

He started badly, calling himself a 'superfan' after being recruited at a basketball game and marathoning a few seasons. He said BB is about making new friends and memories, and he had a problem with lies and backstabs except when he was doing it. He spent most of his time stapled to Shelli and they got a lot of mother/son jokes, but I saw them more as creepy Lannisters, especially when she went on about how like her brother he is. He provided loads of unintentional comedy, weird mouth things and mumbling translations, he peed in HOH shower, and he got out just in time.

Won: 1 week Wackstreet
Another superfan who found out it's easier to play BB from home, he fell into Vanessa's disastrous Renom Roulette wheel and went out earlier than many hoped. He got mouthy about many of them and popped some good funnies, but he laid around most of the time until it was too late. He gave us some of the best reaction faces of all time, especially the night they played squicky truth or dare - he even had a dedicated cam for much of it. He mentioned this site often, usually saying it's 'hard to navigate' so he'll probably never see this.

Won: Nothing
She was erratic and unpredictable, and the random ways she kept them stirred up made for some of the best feeds in ages. And as a bonus, she featured in all the fights, many because the others didn't believe her telling truths. They did buy most of the fibs, and without 'empirical evidence,' but they fell for her wacky gameplay more than twice. She marooned herself in a bed and a dental chair, with some laughs in between, and she got the 2nd ever penalty vote. I enjoyed watching her, and will miss her.

  |

Won: Nothing
I haven't given many empty wheels before their time, and I don't think any of those got them as early as he did. But we've never had such a misogynistic, inappropriate, and unfunny pig before. CBS let him get away clean and that's what it is - I'm just glad to see the back of him.

  |

Won: Power to nullify 3 votes
She wasn't afraid to confront people nor to keep fighting to stay, which was good for us, but didn't help her much. She figured out the twins early but didn't leverage that to her advantage soon or well enough. Her 'game on' fight with Audrey and pantry rant to us were memorable, especially her catch-phrase 'get your life!' She was smart, funny, and volatile. She didn't let us take full advantage of #DaVonneHasADaughter, a hashtag that was too good to be true.

  |

Won: Nothing
He was like a parody of all the former surf boys we've had, with all the worst qualities of asshat hamsters past rolled into one. He verbally beat up on Steve a few times but the primetime version earned him viewer loathing, even if his actoring was lousy. He ranted, streaked, flipped us off, and mostly talked about himself, but he promised to save us all someday through music.

  |

They erroneously said last year that BB16 would have 'the most houseguests ever' but this year they really did, with 17 total after the twins split into separate entities. Now my symmetry for this section is out of whack and I don't know what to put here.

Liz and Julia had to survive five evictions in order to play separately as individuals, which they did, with Julia officially entering the game on Day 43. They switched places every few days. They had a limited time in Diary to change clothes, adjust their appearance, and exchange info. The non-playing twin was sequestered in a 'house,' possibly the jury house.

BB17 prizes are the same: $500k for the winner and $50k for 2nd place. Stipend for the others is $1,000 per week again, including pre-show hotel and jury sequester. Recruits or those with established pre-season fan bases might get more.

The habitat has 80 HD cameras (up four) and over 100 microphones.
