I don't care who wins, I'm just here for the cheap entertainment.. the cheaper, the better
This site is about the Big Brother 14 feeds and contains spoilers! It isn't necessarily thorough: it's what I catch and/or what interests me, and it isn't necessarily about who will win, who should win, who's cute or who's horrid. It's about watching hamsters: who's doing what and why. If they aren't entertaining, get rid of 'em! Thanks for encouraging my behavior. Your pal, dingo

BB14 FAQ
If you have SuperPass, access mobile feeds by going to real.com/bigbrother on your mobile device's browser. Log in (upper right), select Big Brother, and select Live Feeds from the drop menu. There is no app.

The BB14 untwist resulted in no eviction, and all coaches entering the game. Boogie was the only one who didn't vote to enter. If all had said no, there would have been a hamster revival.

Willie was ejected for head-butting Joe. Threats & verbal attacks are legal - aggressive physical contact is not.

They're calling pre-show sequester 'convention' or 'knitting convention', and they're calling Diary 'the wizard' or 'dairy queen'.

Ashley revealed they wear earpieces for nominations, at least early on.

CBS shows are Sundays and Wednesdays at 8pm, and live eviction Thursdays at 9pm.

Big Brother After Dark airs midnight to 3am nightly (1am to 4am Thursdays) on Showtime (SHO2) in USA, and on Slice in Canada at various times - check your local listings.

BB14 prizes are the same: $500k for the winner and $50k for 2nd place. The others still earn $750 a week including pre-show hotel and jury sequester. Kara and Jenn may have gotten more.

The coach of the winner would have gotten $100k without the untwist. Returning veterans got $20k to show up, and/or a higher stipend after the untwist.

The habitat has 53 cameras (up one) and 98 microphones (up three).

The recorded in-house announcements are the voice of producer Don Wollman.

All feeds stay on one 'scene' when someone's in Diary.

The Glass House premiered June 18 on ABC and ran for 10 episodes. The winner got $250,000 - half the usual BB winning amount. The glass hamsters went into hotel sequester on weekends.

Big Brother Canada premieres February 2013.

Fade to gray (Wednesday 9/5)

Some years I'm pretty burnt out and disillusioned at this point in a season, but this year pretty much everybody feels the same.. Julie didn't even give BB a passing mention on tonight's Letterman appearance

The day started with some rain on the habitat, which is rare, and Danielle spilled one of her patented "don't tell anyone I told you this" secrets, filling in Jenn on the plan to evict Frank.. that was promising for a minute as it made the rounds, but it didn't go anywhere.. Frank and Joe both campaigned like crazy but I don't think anything changed: Frank will finally get to meet Julie tomorrow, and someone else will come out on his heels.. as of 2am, they haven't closed the backyard to build apparatus, so the hamsters aren't expecting a double, and it'll either be simple stuff or the workerbees will be at it before dawn

Ian's tweet (singular) and blog were a disappointment, partly for all the missing shoutouts to friends, families and former hamsters he said he wrote about - if they're editing that heavily these days, couldn't they provide guidelines to the HOH before they write their stuff up? - and partly because there was nothing about his thinking or his game.. the only other thing of note today that wasn't a rerun of the past many days is they had a low flying bat in the backyard.. Dan tried to catch it with the pool net but didn't, fortunately for the bat.. they're heard out there almost every night: other years, they identify what the sound is but not the brain trusts we've got this season.. bats have a bad rep but they're really just little hamsters with wings

Pictures again (Tuesday 9/4)

The camera came out once again and they posed with each other, with their flag, with empty wine bottles, and with creepy sock monkey.. naps and rummy continued, as did gametalk in twos and threes, like it does - as near as I can tell, pretty much all of them are certain they're in finals.. speaking of finals, I've posted the probable schedule for the remaining evictions in the News & Updates section below

Ian did his blog and tweets, and for once I'm eager to see both.. given Ian's apparent re-allegiance to Dan and the Quackers, I've almost decided that yes, I have overestimated him, but I won't give up hope that Ian is on to Dan unless/until his blog says otherwise.. how I miss the bygone days when their aired Diaries would give us a clue about what they're really thinking

The day dragged on into night, and so did the feeds.. Dan broke Wil's frame on the photo wall and blacked him out.. about the only other noteworthy thing I've got is a brief return to As Danielle's World Turns - I've been going easy on her story lately due to the backlash out here, which is over the top in my opinion, but I also don't like defending her

She went on an anti-Frank tirade tonight to Dan, then to Shane, and then to Joe, escalating his demonic faults with each retell of course.. after all the fishing for compliments she does about her looks and body, apparently it's a crime if Frank should pay her one.. Shane kept saying Diary should call her in, that they were missing some good stuff but they didn't, and it was dumped on us instead.. afterwards, Frank joined her for a friendly chat in the bathroom like he does most nights

Thursday night we'll be rid of two of them, and just two more weeks til we're free of all of them and we can get back to what we were doing before this sad season took over our lives - and yes, I realize most of you have already moved on

Labor Day (Monday 9/3)

Dan veto'd Jenn from the block, and Ian put up Joe in her place, as planned.. also as planned, Ian feigned shock and anger at Dan for using his veto

Joe had a little hissy fit about it, proclaiming Dan evil, hiding behind the Bible, and the like.. whispers, congratulations, and self-back-patting ensued around the habitat, as usual

The rest of the day and night didn't bring much: Danielle discovered Dan had frozen a bunch of her undies.. Joe gave us a long monologue before dinner.. Dan continued setting off tiny bombs about Danielle and Danielle & Shane.. Danielle got sippy and tried to make them all talk about her looks, again.. rummy was the game du jour, and Ian hammocked his brains out

Ratings - Thin Air edition

Ratings are based on entertainment value, but there isn't much

They handled Ian & Dan's convo about Ian's ADHD well on Wednesday's show, tinkly piano and all, and hopefully that will put an end once and for all to the armchair psychologists and their nasty habit of deciding they can diagnose things on a tv show. But that was the dumbest OTEV we've had in the many seasons since it showed up, especially with the tinfoil flying saucer overlay. A space theme is one thing, silly as theirs was, but how does that tie in to corn? Their cows weren't even turned inside out. See Wednesday's section above regarding Julie on Letterman, as well as Ian's blog & tweets.. logic fails a bit more every day.

TEAMIES: Kara, Danielle, Jodi
WON: Sushi party, 24 hour disco
I don't usually have a problem with BB lies or with hamsters swearing on things, but I do have a problem with Dan making a big deal of swearing on his wedding ring and Bible for a lie, mostly because he talks up both his marriage and his faith as being everything to him when he's not swearing on them. People say well it's just a game, and it is for the losers, but for the winner (which he already is), it's a life-changing experience with very real consequences. That I have a problem with, and I can't write that off to 'just a game'. He's played a very good one and seemingly wants to replace Will Kirby as the one with the 'best BB player' reputation, but Dr. Will told everyone he was lying plus he begged to be evicted. More importantly, he did all his gaming in 10 minutes and he spent the rest of each week entertaining the others, and us. Dan's still a distant #2 on that score, in my opinion. However, his negative turns neutral thanks to a couple brief convos: see Ian.

TEAM DAN
WON: 24 hour shackles
I can't take much more. Even poking at her with As Danielle's World Turns has lost its sparkle. Maybe it'll come back if she's still around after Thursday's double whammy. Meanwhile, the girl's going to have enough problems when she gets out and discovers what most think about her, but rather than continue playing her up or even neutralizing her, CBS took aim with a direct hit and a very, very cheap shot: see Links of the Day below. I wouldn't put it past them to feature her giant forehead zit on a segment Thursday - that's the kind of cruel bastards they can be. She's a very young, very insecure, and very messed up girl in some ways, but she's not the devil. They knew that going in: even her pre-show interviews made it clear that she had some emotional issues, and supposedly they do extensive psych testing, but they cast her anyway, when she didn't even apply to be on this show and had no idea what she was getting into, or what she'll face afterwards. They don't need to contribute to making that bad situation any worse.

TEAM BOOGIE
WON: $3,341.49, 1 week spiritard, 1 week carrot, green bath, 24 hour chum showers
NOMINATED
Unlike many, I don't have a problem with him, and I admire his gutsy about openly campaigning, and especially his attempts to shmooze Danielle. It would have been nice to be rid of all the veterans & recuits and see him versus Ian in finals, but that's not going to happen.

TEAM BOOGIE
WON: $4k, 24 hour dog's life, veto ball
HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD
He & Dan had a short interlude Tuesday about Reality Blurred and Andy Dehnart's snark, but also about the stale BB casting documents that Andy's posted, right down to the repeated/uncorrected typos and snacks directives - click to read more and/or Flashback 9/4 4.45pm. They had another short but hilarious exchange Wednesday about my BBQ Smackdown, in which they both figured out that the grill has a HUGE advantage over the hamsters - see Lines of the Day below and/or Flashback 9/5 4.35pm. (They both also agreed that I do a decent daily feeds recap here, but they haven't seen this week's scanty efforts.) Ian's been a cocky but somehow still endearing HOH, but he needs to be schooled on some items in his BB history arsenal: namely what an overall fabulous season BB5 was, what incredible feeds BB9 provided, and that Dan won BB10.

TEAM BOOGIE
WON: $1k, Hawaii trip
Danielle spilled something major to her Wednesday and later Diary got her all worked up about the possibility that Dan might not be as loyal as he appears, and yet she did nothing to help either herself or us. Pure fail.

TEAM JANELLE
WON: 24 hour hula hoop
NOMINATED
Nobody would have believed it if you told them two months ago that he'd be our chief source of entertainment, the only way to prevent Dan from collecting his second installment of a $1 million paycheck, and the only one who'd even think of booting Dan or Danielle, but here we are. It's just too bad nobody listens to him.

TEAM BRITNEY
WON: Veto ticket
I thought I was finished here and scrolled down to discover I'd forgotten to write anything about him. Oh well.

TEAMIES: Shane, Willie, JoJo
WON: 1 week safety, 24 hour shackles
She gamed way too hard as a coach and as a player, but she contributed to Willie's pork rind tantrum so kudos for that. She didn't bring as much comedy as she's capable of but when she did, it was hilarious, including early late nights with Janelle and her stellar pre-eviction drunk. It's a shame we didn't get a second season of Just The Tip and that she repeated some of her same mistakes, but she was fun to see again and she'll definitely be missed.

TEAM JANELLE - WON: Nothing
She was ditzy and kooky, and didn't seem like she knew what show she was on most of the time (which fits, since she landed here after being rejected from a dating show). She had back problems that looked legit, and worked in her favor more than once. She brought a kitty-cat sleep mask, creative counting methods, unicorns and dreamboard strategy, and while she seems like a nice enough girl who would have been a hit in 1967, her monotone voice won't be missed.

TEAMIES: Frank, Ian, Jenn - WON: $16k
He started a bit better this time but degenerated to his old self. His friends in production couldn't save him this time around and he got got. His team survived him but only Frank stuck with him til the end, even though Boogie went for cash rather than working to help him. I'm very relieved to see the back of him for a third and hopefully last time, and I only wish we had a feed for when Dr. Will smacks him upside the head.

TEAM JANELLE - WON: $5,000
He came in with the most entertainment potential we've seen in awhile but other than a few spectacular bursts such as his drunken sushi birthday, he failed to deliver on a regular basis. His Sharon Osbourne was spot-on and so was his Joe, but his quick wit wasn't enough to combat the overall doldrums of the season. He fiddled his hair constantly (like Kaysar), and he pinkyswore Janelle out the door. He starred in two of the three 'The Soup' segments to date, and he'll be missed.

TEAMIES: Wil, Ashley, Joe WON: nothing
She was the first coach casualty but she went quietly, robbing us of an updated 'bye-bye bitches'. She didn't have a Howie or Kaysar to work with (or entertain us) this time, and her teamies either didn't know or didn't care how loyally she plays BB. She had some sippy fun but this cast didn't get her shtick, and she had pork rinds thrown at her and mean girl chatter reminiscent of BB6. She drove the early game but didn't play in any veto comps, and that was a huge loss for the season.

TEAM BRITNEY - WON: nothing
She promised to bring it, but apparently she left it on Staten Island since she failed to fight even when confronted. She talked a lot but it was mostly the same loops over and over: she only gets along with East Coast girls, she's street-smart, she's loyal, and she's loyal, know what I mean? She was scouted via Facebook to get here, and that's where she should have stayed. Now she can get back to modeling and piloxing.

TEAM BRITNEY - WON: nothing
(Possibly forfeited stipend)
He spent two weeks laying in HOH bed, parannoying his brains out even though he was perfectly safe, and his fall from HOH was the hardest we've ever seen. He head-butted himself out the door when he might have been saved by veto, so he'll go into the BB blunders pile. I didn't come in with Hantzophobia so I'm grateful for the cheap entertainment he brought, especially the Froot Loops war and Willieisms like 'key-hos', 'corn-ho', and 'totin' pole'. He's the first hamster to pose for his mug shot while his season was still underway.

TEAM DAN - WON: nothing
She brought a big name and rep to the show but didn't live up to either. She seemed like a nice enough girl but she didn't bring much to the feeds, and her sister wife wardrobe greatly disappointed her pre-existing fanbase. She'll be remembered for extra shiny knees and little else - she didn't even campaign to stay.

TEAM DAN, for a minute - WON: nothing
Most were looking forward to seeing what she'd bring, but she got a raw deal and was gone before the feeds even kicked on. She'd said she was worried about lack of privacy & sleep, missing her family, and slop, so maybe BB wasn't for her, and she got away without airing any dirty laundry. It had to be humiliating to go back in for the group bikini pic but that's how they do things.
