	August 18, 2006 - Day 47 >> BB7 Park by TD >> to the future    >> to the past    >> daily index >> latest HamsterWatch episode    >> linkage >> George is Head of Household << >> James used veto - Howie & Erika are nominated << Update: >> Howie evicted (3-2?) - Boogie is Head of Household << Will shoots and scores I come back to find George has nominated Howie Will's playing basketball around an oblivious Erika & George, having just told Janelle what great tv this will be.. he's the only one who throws around the "only a game" tagline and consistently believes it, many feedsters included Things are moving fast and there's lots of flames but please check yesterday's late night developments, particularly Will asking to be put up so he can keep both Janelle & Danielle in there, and George telling him he couldn't take the chance on putting out the doctor, and most will become clear.. George also checked the rulebook late, maybe looking to see if he could nominate himself and avoid further bloodshed Apparently George put up Howie because a) he also noticed he's the only one who hadn't been nom'd; b) he'd promised everyone else (after much pressure) that he wouldn't put them up; and c) chances are very very good that Will told him to Meanwhile Howie packs, annoyed that he'll miss his shot at the "Early Show" again.. Erika, Danielle & James alternate popping in to chat and help, all of them perkier than ever, especially James     Janelle pops up to the ice cream room to chat with George, who acknowledges that he couldn't put her up because he owes her and "the game owes her" for being such a good competitor - watch the video.. she says she understands, no hard feelings, and they part with a hug     They vote & evict today at 4pm for Sunday's show, and a new HOH comp apparatus is being built in the backyard that includes gnomes.. chances are good that Sunday's show will "pretend" to be live - check the fine print Obviously Janelle will vote to keep Howie, James says he'll vote to keep Howie.. it sounds like Willboogie are separating a bit and that Will wants to keep Howie while Boogie would rather dump another BB6er.. it only takes three We may have flames for the duration.. a good time to pause and remember that unless you're a second cousin or better, it really shouldn't matter all that much to you who ultimately wins.. it's a tv show Howie's gone Before the vote handshake So Will's plan fell apart (that would be a first) and/or I misinterpreted.. the feeds come back over 2 hours after "live" show taping was scheduled to start, and Howie's gone Howie's going to be missed - not only will feedsters have nobody to laugh at & with simultaneously, but editors have lost their favorite cheap & easy target.. he reran a lot of last year's material but he brought new stuff too including the new-to-many vocab acronym FUPA.. he had a lot of gas this year (slop didn't help) but he always tried to be considerate and carried his spray can around.. just like last year, even when alone he'd always say "Sorry BB" for every fart     He showed his butt a lot this year but never his front - even when he got stuck without a towel he worried what to do.. he wore the same ratty undies and heard the same grief about them.. but he made friends with nearly everyone in there, even the cool club kids.. and he's a lot smarter than most give him credit for     You get the idea that Howie's a guy who never feels out of place no matter what, even in Janelle's pink princess palace.. he got along with everyone - two years in a row - no matter how horribly they talked about him.. he was Janelle's rock and the best friend anyone could ask for.. even if you didn't like him, even when you got tired of him, his near-constant good humor, laughter & get-along glue will be missed     His fans will especially miss his & Janelle's easy interaction, their mind-blowing study sessions, and their goofy laugh riots together.. along with "Oh Howie" "Oh Janey" and "You're my beefcake" "You're my cupcake" So long Howie.. you'll be missed, much more than most Janelle crashes She's crying when the feeds come back - something we never saw through three Kaysar evictions, one other Howie eviction, countless ally evictions or her own.. not even from being targeted & almost-openly hated by most in there for two seasons Apparently Howie got upset at his surprise nomination and shouted "We got the votes Georgie!" which upset Boogie and probably others.. there was some shouting between Howie & Boogie which gave Will a "reason" to vote him out à la Jase and whittle down the BB6 competition that much more - or so he says.. he also threw Boogie's hat like he's done so often with his own.. the HOH comp included pie-throwing and little people (not awfully PC of CBS).. Boogie, Erika & Danielle cheered when Janelle was taken out When we come back James is attempting to console a crying cocooned Janelle and not doing too well at it.. the rest of the "just a game" crowd are singing a different tune than 24 hours ago when they were nominated or about to be.. Will whispers to Boogie that they should go after James & Danielle this week - watch the video Danielle & Erika suggest they get booze and have girls' night to help Janelle feel better - do their nails & eat ice cream.. George feels bad but is also justifiably proud of his game move, saying softly "I took out Howie Gordon" with awe.. Danielle goes on to villify the absent Howie by saying how awful he was to April.. Boogie says he feels bad and doesn't want to do the HOH room celebration thingy.. they tell him he has to     Danielle's made it clear that she haunts BB sites & boards.. most of them posted the admissions that April knew Busto was coming and was ok with it, even if it was harsher than she expected.. most also think she had it (or something) coming.. Danielle leaves this stuff out now though in the Maggie-April-Ivette method of justifying her actions even though her vote today would have been for Erika without need of excuses.. her 'just a game' mantra feels like so much bullshit at times like this Janelle keeps crying.. Boogie comes in to apologize - watch the video.. it doesn't help a lot.. like Nakomis' BB5 meltdown, it's that much harder to watch when it's someone who's normally so strong, who doesn't cry at the drop of a hat, or ever.. Howie's eviction blindsided her as well as him, and she seems to finally realize what we've wanted her to for so long, that she's been played by those she trusted     Will comes to talk to her and they leave James behind.. he pep-talks her a long time and seems to feel genuinely bad for her - critics have disputed that but it's my take; of course he's still playing the game too but he's not a monster.. he does better than James anyway and she perks up a bit.. watch the videos: part 1 - part 2     Janelle doesn't even want to leave the room but HOH redecoration time comes along again (already) and Will convinces her to go - she wears sunglasses for her red puffy eyes.. it's like a swinging singles pad right out of The Sims, and things only get odder when Boogie looks at some pics and says "Is this some kind of puzzle? Is Jonah [producer type/Diary person] playing a fucking trick on me?"     As they look at the photos they realize at least some are Howie's.. watch the video.. the guests leave and Will tells Boogie about his talk with Janelle - watch the video.. James & Erika show up before they get around to their next plan Crash 'n burn It goes on.. Janelle's critics call her a crybaby or drama queen, but she seems to be broken.. if she was the type who cried for effect we would have seen it many times before now She chats with George a bit, then Erika shows up, then Danielle.. Janelle had told Will that she can't stand the sight of Dani or Erika but she goes to them for a minute.. they give her some wine and Dani gives her a hug, tells her to buck up, that's it's okay to cry.. and she's right     You get the idea that Janelle's upset with herself as much for crying in front of them all as she is with having been betrayed and losing her teamies & friends.. it's a vicious loop and it keeps looping.. her mom says she rarely cried even as a little one James talks to her some more and seems to be really trying, and possibly feeling a bit guilty.. she says she's done - watch the video.. Will takes over again and she repeats that she's done, she wants to DOR, she even talks suicidal but he brings her back from that.. she's using toilet paper for the tears now She's finally on her own for a bit and takes a shower, washing leftover pie and less tangible crap out of her hair.. the rest of them come & go, hatching their plots & plans.. Will finally explains all about Howie's eviction to her, and Marcellas' and all the rest, and apologizes again.. he starts presenting scenarios for her to stay with him & Boogie but she keeps saying she's done, just put her up and vote her out, she wants to go to sequester and she'll throw all the comps til she does - watch the video - just a snippet, it goes on for days     Finally most go off to bed - Erika with Boogie in HOH.. Will keeps working on Janelle but she's working back now: her despair starts turning to anger, kinda.. she challenges him about his deals and his offers and she hears but rebukes his flattery.. Danielle comes out for a bit and tells Janelle it's All-Stars, she shouldn't give up.. she also asks if there's anywhere she can smoke without us seeing.. Complimentary ups all around cuz they're all human, and they've put themselves out there for our amusement I think the flames music has been turned down, yay! I have to give them props for packing a bunch into Thursday's show, many of them true (and rare) surprises, even after nearly half the show went to review. Prom night was silly but I'm glad they spared the really nasty questions, and it's always fun to watch Julie scold them for admiring their pricey set dressings. They've revised the script: now Janelle's been HOH three times instead of the former four or accurate 3½, and the Coup d'Etat was again 'a common phrase' with 'applies to BB game' just tacked on as a footnote once. Both Janelle's & Danielle's moms added some much-needed class & perspective to what's usually treated as life or death matters in the house, and Julie tried to temper Marcellas' nasty attitude by joking about his last eviction when she thwapped him. Unfortunately not much can temper that man's bad attitude but at least she cut him off in mid-whine about being sent to Tijuana. We'll probably never know what Janelle earned as far as an HOH comp advantage for being named Prom Queen so all that was just a lot of 50¢ into CBS's pockets, plus a packet of comp Q&As they didn't have to pay the writers for. HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD HOLDS COUP d'ETAT His Coup is now just another wasted gimmick. Maybe he can use it on his own noms if a veto changes them or if he & Will disagree.. I wonder if BB thought of that possibility, or if it'll just go to waste like Janelle's Prom Queen 'HOH comp advantage'. Yea she can be nasty and oh-so-repetitive but she tried to be kind to Janelle tonight a couple of times, and Janelle might not have done the same for her. She's still there and she mostly just nods along with the trash-talkers - she really doesn't contribute all that much to it. I feel kinda bad for him tonight: he got the quickie HOH with no blog, no photos, and no Julie (unless they toss it in for the show this year). Granted, he surprised all and ended up surrounded by grief in there and being despised by many out here, but in the 'it's just a game' frame of mind, he did take out a BB6er like they've all been telling him was necessary, and he has a right to be kinda proud of that. Even if it was his pal. He wasn't very effective at dealing with Janelle's despair but he did try and he didn't have to. He seemed human there for awhile, even if he did justify his dirty dealings & retrace his faulty route with Danielle afterward. Again. PROM QUEEN See Aldav's video He's the reason for all this today like he's been the reason for everything til now, but I think he did feel bad about seeing Janelle hurting so bad over it. She might have really gone out the door today if he hadn't bothered to perk her up. It's fascinating in a sick way to watch him continue to try to work her over, but it's terrific to see her fighting back now and challenging him.. it's about time! Love him or hate him, nobody can deny he's an individual. Two years running he's stayed truer to his partners than anyone while staying on good terms with everyone on all sides, in spite of behavior that would get most arrested. His act gets old and he drops trou a lot, but he's almost always upbeat and his heart is solid gold. We'd all be lucky to have a friend as loyal as Howie. He had early alliances galore but blew them all off to mope & complain instead. Editing was far from kind and didn't even give us his best but it's his own doing (like most of his problems are). Hamsterwatch Most Photogenic award winner, especially since he started posing for renaissance paintings. He said his heart wasn't in it this year and that he was saving his big moves for later: both fatal in the BB house, and not kicking out Will when he could was pivotal to the season. But he shaved his head for the game and stopped twisting his hair too. Good to see him again and overnighters especially will miss him. Sadly, she didn't stand a chance this year. She came in defeated & involved in a feud, and lost all her partners. Mrs. Smith didn't give us the fireworks she's capable of but she's always an all-star in my book and I wish her well. His alliances and behavior were all over the map this time and both got him kicked out. He went out the back door again but it wasn't intentional this time. So long, mirror-face. Not the most charismatic and she didn't start playing in time, but each side kicked her out so the other couldn't have her. Kudos to her for having the guts to return. She worked out and hid in a vase but the potential for catfights & dramatics left with her. She didn't live up to her skanky rep: good for her, bad for us.
