What was that, James?
In his "Early Show" video today (linked below), James introduces himself with "I was the 27-year-old philosophy teacher from Atlanta".. huh??
Last year his CBS stats card read 29, Atlanta, Loss prevention manager; this year it's 30, Miami, Loss prevention manager.. so he not only got younger but he changed professions.. in fact, teacher was what he told the others in the house he was - a lie that came back to bite him by making them all doubt his credibility when he finally fessed up
I think that's a clue that he's going to play exactly the same if he gets in this year: lying whether it helps his gameplan or not.. which means the boards will be running amok again from stuff he says without stopping to question it
Actually James has been playing the game for several weeks already.. his site has been hopping with activity - chats, interviews, etc - and he's been participating.. the associated reality sites that run it also appear to run sites for Dana, Erika, and Ivette (along with non-BB7ers Jun, Rachel and of course Sarah).. they also show Danielle although her links go nowhere.. another site (possibly affiliated? I don't know) has endorsed a James/Erika/Howie ticket
The James Gang seems to be behind the juggernaut of auto-voting that's keeping him solidly behind Kaysar & Janelle at the top of the list with Erika & Howie just after him.. Kaysar, Janelle & Howie have solid fan bases so no surprises there.. James holding at #3 is very likely due to his guerrilla web campaign successfully at work, especially since many other sites are power voting all over the map.. nobody can quite fathom why Erika's numbers are staying so strong, so it seems likely that the James Gang is indeed power voting her numbers into the millions
Whether or not Howie or Danielle have fallen in with James "for real" or not remains to be seen, but it looks as if Erika may owe James something if she gets in.. maybe her alliance won't be so secret this time or with an under the radar guy (if the others are paying any attention at all, that is)
Also, Alison used some interesting wordage on her site the other day: "I've decided to join Erika, Dana and James in their chat".. decided seems an odd word to use there to me.. it has a tone of her having made a bigger choice than just doing a chat
Incidentally, the associated sites behind James, Erika, et al are the ones who had "official" leaks last year - things like pics of them inside the house before the feeds came on - they've not had that kind of scoop this year, but if the James Gang ends up getting the kind of editing that Eric/Maggie had last year, I may be questioning things
Speaking of Alison, now she's put up yet another "unusual" banner for Mary Carey-style campaign:
Rounding out the pack, Cowboy's gotten himself a site now.. it's been added along with Dana's site and Monica's MySpace to the candidate roll call posted the other day as will any others that show up as we go
I still can't get Ivette's site to open, but I think it's funny that search engine keywords in its code begin with "James Rhine, Ivette Corredero" (in that order).. it also shows James as its copyright holder, and its title for search engine spiders is "James Rhine's Official Web Site".. oh yea, he's a cagey one
thanks Big Brother Keyhole for Dana's and Liz for Monya's link
If you're just finding your way back here for the new season, be sure to go back and catch up so you'll be in the know for references that may well continue through September - there's plenty of time before the feeds & daily reports start - Hamsterwatch kicked in slowly for BB7 starting back in April with the now-requisite posting of the application for hamster hopefuls (which remains up at CBS) and its subsequent tossing out in favor of has-been hamsters
You're already showing up here from all over the world - Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Brazil, and France to name a few, as well as the Netherlands, birthplace of BB.. site stats show that there also seem to be some Hamsterwatchers in the US government and the school system.. hmmm
Going back you'll also find quite a few shameless begs for donations and pleas to please click on my banners.. I hate to be so mercenary here (let alone whiney) but without your guys' help I won't be able to take the summer off to follow the house and write up snarky commentaries for your perusal
This year though, you can get something else for your dollars: for a few more days, I have a tie-dye shirt from BB6 up for sale on Ebay that was made & autographed by Janelle! I'm thrilled with the bidding so far and wonder if I dare to hope it goes higher
This year you can also help support Hamsterwatch by signing up for your feeds here, starting with a RealOne SuperPass 14 day free trial that won't cost you a thing if you decide to cancel
Be sure to read the users guide if you're new here (or not), and always check the daily linkage - lots of good sites in there that will evolve as we go, plus daily specials.. as always, huge thanks for your support and for visiting!
It's too early for this
The campaign trail is already littered with tacky debris.. I'm glad voting ends in a few days
This was the home page of Alison's new site before she toned it down a bit.. some of the previously dead links work now and part of this pic remains on the site along with others that look like they could be found on "watch me on my webcam now!" type sites
Her campaign banner, meant to be posted on fan sites and BB update pages like these, has a distinct flavor too:
"Early Show" rallies have begun and will continue thru Wednesday.. here are direct (ad-free) links to the segment videos:
Day 1 - Thursday 6/22 - Nakomis/Howie/Diane/George
Day 2 - Friday 6/23 - Marcellas/Erika/Bunky/Lisa
Day 3 - Monday 6/26 - Boogie/Monica/James/Janelle
Day 4 - Tuesday 6/27 - Kaysar/Ivette/Jase/Alison
Day 5 - Wednesday 6/28 - Danielle/Cowboy/Dana/Will, "12.5 million votes already cast"
Not surprisingly, George is the most flamboyant so far, with a (scary) rap backed up by a mini-Boswell chicken, and attempts to upstage Julie in the crowd scene
I'm pretty much staying out of the endorsement game - I have a few I'd like to see in there and a few I really don't want to see again, but I'll try to accept whoever gets thrown at us
I'm staying away from the auto-bot voting frenzy too.. I figure it just gives CBS more numbers to bandy about and pretend they're legit votes.. Julie already gloated about vote numbers on both Thursday's & Friday's "Early Show" and I'm sure she'll keep it up through Wednesday
