I don't care who wins, I'm just here for the cheap entertainment.. the cheaper, the better
This site is about the Big Brother 13 feeds and contains spoilers! It isn't necessarily thorough: it's what I catch and/or what interests me, and it isn't necessarily about who will win, who should win, who's cute or who's horrid. It's about watching hamsters: who's doing what and why. If they aren't entertaining, get rid of 'em! Thanks for encouraging my behavior. Your pal, dingo

FAQ
Duos were reinstated for one week after Porsche opened Pandora's Box.

Brendon was revived a week after eviction after apparently beating the other three evictees to date in a CBS poll, and beating August 11 evictee Lawon in a live ball-chute comp.

They called Adam's elf Cruddy and his beardless look Phillip.

Brendon's knees got messed up from the food comp with the ant costumes.

They called Dominic PT for pre-teen, a running gag about how young he looks, and/or part-time, referring to his modeling career.

Nominations & veto were pairs-based until there were 10 left.

The evictee's surviving partner got one of four Golden Keys, meaning they couldn't be nominated or play for HOH until there were 10 left.

Dick left mysteriously, off the feeds, due to 'personal reasons' per him and CBS. We may never know the full story.

CBS shows air Sundays and Wednesdays at 8pm, and live eviction Thursdays at 9pm

Big Brother After Dark airs 1-4am Thursdays and 12-3am other nights, on Showtime in USA and Global Reality in Canada

BB13 prizes are the same: $500k for the winner and $50k for 2nd place. The others still earn $750 a week including pre-show hotel and jury sequester. The BB veterans probably get more.

The habitat has 52 cameras and 95 microphones.

The recorded Big Brother in-house announcements are the voice of producer Don Wollman.

All feeds stay on one 'scene' when someone's in Diary.

Finale finally

Rachel won the final HOH comp by answering two questions right about things the jurors said versus Porsche's zero correct.. Rachel evicted Adam, the jury asked their abbreviated questions, Rachel repeated her spiel several times, and the jury cast their votes

Rachel won Big Brother 13 with four votes: Brendon, Jeff, Shelly and Jordan.. Jeff won the $25k favorite houseguest prize for the second time

A big thank you to each and every one of the hamsters for putting themselves out there for our amusement

Star of the Season

In a first, the Hamsterwatch Star of the Season isn't a hamster at all: this year's honor goes to Shelly's daughter Josie.. that might say a lot about this year's cast and feeds, but it says more about Josie: the 8-year-old had not one but two feature segments on CBS, and she showed herself to be bright, polite, articulate and intelligent - not to mention adorable, easily extracting the expected awws from viewers for a little girl missing her momma

She had me when Shelly told the others about her phone call and said that Josie screamed she got the teacher she wanted - a very big deal in 2nd grade - but when we saw the phone call and later when Josie was interviewed (including admonitions to her mom to stop lying, and to stick with Jorff), it was clear that little Josie was a star of the first caliber.. congratulations to Josie for this not-so-coveted title, and thanks for brightening up our summer

0

That's that, almost

The feeds went down early on Wednesday, possibly for the duration, and with that, the long drawn-out nightmare that was Big Brother 13 has just about come to an end.. to say this was the most boring season ever is subjective but possibly true.. you'll note the "next summer" teaser: CBS announced today that BB14 is officially a go.. talk about All-Stars 2 is possibly not just idle speculation - it's definitely not beyond the realm of possibilities.. at the very least, I'm guessing we could get another fans versus favorites theme

Remember though, it's not over after Julie announces the winner tonight: the feeds will pick up again after the finale for live backyard interviews as well as Thursday night's wrap party.. I'll also link up other post-interviews as they come along, and the Vegas Bash will be streaming online took money from people to stream over the weekend, but then they cut off the feed Friday night - WTF?

This season we were treated to five has-beens (six counting Dick, who may or may not have ever planned to spend the whole summer in there), and the eight fresh faces fit the usual casting mold of the last several seasons, albeit more ethnically diverse than usual.. the feeds were almost constant game talk, which is fine for those who like that sort of thing, but most of it was so much wasted breath & bandwidth: there wasn't a single surprise eviction all season

A quick glance at my extracurricular tally shows there wasn't much else: sex events were monopolized by Brendon & Rachel for the second season in a row, as were fights.. the only big group event was also theirs, but the trashbag wedding with its two days of prep was definitely one of the highlights of the feeds - sadly and typically, CBS overlooked it

The biggest surprise for me this year was Adam continually professing his love for this site.. it came as a shock to me but a welcome one: it was very nice to have recognition for my work after all these years, and many Hamsterwatchers were pleased to have one of our own in there.. I've said it many times but some still don't realize he's not affiliated with this site at all: he's just a fan of mine.. I don't know him from Adam

Huzzah

Along with Adam, my thanks go out to all my chatroom regulars, especially flashback queen @smellykelley, crack researcher @MelissaMeek, chaos confirmer @mamafox, and strategy advisor @CrazyReed.. also my cohorts in the unofficial one-person BB websites consortium, archivist extraordinaire Attw x and angry drunk Dogdave - as always, I couldn't have done this without you guys.. and huge thanks to DreamAngel/KrimsonLighting for another year of letting us Westies watch every show "on time", even with football and presidential speeches

Big thanks to Janelle Pierzina for her pre-season thoughts about the hamsters, and only the best wishes for an easy pregnancy and birth, and a happy, healthy baby - I'm sure she'll make a fabulous mommy.. I had hoped to have a few other formers chime in through the season but alas, it didn't happen

My biggest thanks go out to you Hamsterwatchers: thank you for reading me every day, for all the kind words and goof alerts, for following me on Twitter and Facebook and all the replies, retweets, #FFs and (most) comments.. HUGE thanks to all who donated, and special big ups to Fara, Tiffany and Bea for letting us know Adam's as nice a guy as he appeared to be - I'm very grateful for the new fans his mentions brought to the site.. follow me at @neonne for my snarky on other subjects - let me know you're a Hamsterwatcher

Ratings - It's a Wrap edition

VTW = Voted to win

They packed an awful lot into 90 minutes, much of it pointless rehashes, and a few hamsters took up more than their share of time that should have been allotted to more of them. The things that should have been given more weight (like the formerly explosive jury questions) ended up being as meaty as a Sunday fluff segment. But that's how they do things: they've got a formula and they stick to it, and why shouldn't they? It's their playpen and we're just looking in. Nevermind that this season was pretty much a rerun with rerun hamsters, rerun comps, and rerun show formats, it's still the only thing like it but that's because of one thing only: the feeds. Thanks to Allison, Rich, Julie, and everyone behind the walls, and thanks to everyone at SuperPass for letting us watch the real show once again, particularly Chelsia for wearing so many hats for them and doing so well in all of them.

Paired with Brendon Jordan
Won: $500,000, Jessie paraphernalia, Aruba trip (from 'The Talk')
Her second season started the same and revolved around Brendon: hanging on him, babytalking, predictable & near-constant fighting, and the dreaded slurpydurp. She never got her Vegas back but she's clearly a better person when he's not around sucking the life out of her, and it was good to see her on her own. She was denied three HOH interviews with Julie, she dominated the competitions, flashed her boobies, and was heard peeing live on CBS.

Paired with Keith Kalia - GOLDEN KEY
Won: $55,000, clothes
She survived first noms but then was barely there for weeks, prompting me to post Daily Porsche Sighting pics, but she stuck to the end and won comps when she had to. She was one of several who stole and hid others' items, and she tampered with the house protein drink powder. She'll be remembered for confusing her elbow & shoulder, overacted comp hosting, shrinking bikinis, and for making velour tracksuits an anti-fashion statement.

Paired with Dominic Shelly - GOLDEN KEY
Won: One week elf suit, clothes
VTW = Porsche
His humor was often misunderstood but he remained even-tempered and made no enemies, which is rare. He's the 'regular person' most fans want but many turned on him for not being more dynamic game-wise. He beat Brendon at hot dogs, filled the nice guy role well, and his week as Cruddy the Elf was fun & memorable, as was his nerdy Phillip character. Apparently my #1 fan, he gave me endless shout-outs, to which I say thumbs up back at ya!

Paired with Jeff Rachel
Won: One week catsuit + tutu, clothes
VTW = Rachel
She did her ditzy again but she showed some BB savvy this time as well, although she forgot many of her winning season's details. She wore the enhanced catsuit with flair and a great attitude, and continuously fingered her hair. She got fired up twice which seemed out of character for her, but so did her chest-bumping Russell. Her most surprising moment for me was her spot-on Fire Marshall Bill face, and her tooty-toot voice was hilarious.

Paired with Lawon Porsche
Won: $5,000, Caribbean trip, clothes
VTW = Porsche
She seemed to be eating most of the time and she talked 'literally' nonstop, but it was her constant singing & resulting palms that got her on feedsters' hit lists, escalated by doggie horror stories like throwing her yorkie into a wall (8/29 12.43pm, 8/29 11.13pm). She talked a lot about making 'big moves' but her first was to nom & evict her own teamie Lawon. She later nom'd & evicted Jeff, but she didn't get the flak for it that Shelly did.

Paired with Cassi Adam - GOLDEN KEY
Won: 24 hours solitary, phone call
VTW = Rachel
She'd said she didn't want to fill the mom role but she represented the demo well, being a friend to most of them when they were down and handing out good advice. She also bashed with the best of them, smoked and cleaned non-stop, and she introduced the hilarious stealth hammock creep. She took a lot of flak for things she did and didn't do, but she played the game the way it was designed to be played and it took them 55 days to catch on.

Paired with Jordan
Won: $40,000
VTW = Rachel
His sense of entitlement to be there and win was as strong as the other vets, but it didn't work out for him this time either. He went out on a bitter note but he gave us his share of funny one-liners while he lasted, especially when he was losing. He had issues with Dumbledore, was a formidable opponent for the new grill and for Adam & Shelly's cigarette supplies, he won all the cash to date, and he'll probably get yet another CBS show after this.

Paired with Dick - GOLDEN KEY/TICKET
Won/used: Veto ticket
VTW = Porsche
She looked & acted different this time, especially when she joked & laughed which was great to see, but she failed at her former specialty of winning vetos and she went back to whining when on the block and on slop. Like all the vets, she had a sense of entitlement but she turned on them too soon, got Dominic booted, and later evicted her teamie Lawon. She shuffled her deck and almost had an 11th hour save, but it 'literally' didn't work out.

Paired with Rachel
Won: 1 week revival
VTW = Rachel
His return was twice unwelcome, especially now that he's had a year to suck the life and Vegas out of Rachel. This time he wore superhero suits, used not-funny voices, lost a toy turtle, lectured everyone, and had big goofy smiles for Big Booty & Porsche's striptease. He had a pathetic sense of entitlement and made a giant stink about Rachel calling him Buki.

Paired with Kalia
Won: nothing
My favorite hamster in years, he came out with his best stuff late nights so many missed it, but he gave great Diary, wore kooky outfits and officiated at the trashbag wedding with tremendous style & flair. He caught flak for pawning himself out the door but his teamies encouraged it and put him up, so it's not all on him. He was Lawonderful with a fantastic laugh and he'll be missed.

Paired with Adam
Won: nothing
He was the first casualty of Daniele's too hard/too fast strategy but he didn't help himself by not brushing up more on how BB works. He told a lot of pointless lies about his modeling, schooling, virginity and then fessed up to them, which might have come back to bite him anyway. His adolescent jokes & behavior did nothing for me.

Paired with Shelly
Won: nothing
She started off okay and had Dominic in her pocket, but Shelly befriended her so well that when they were both nominated, Cassi just laid down and died. She complained a lot, failed to fulfill her catfight potential, and was the third model in a row to be booted out second. She had the best Mirror-Face since BB5/7 Jase.

Paired with Porsche
Won: nothing
He claimed to be a fan since BB1 but even watching only CBS, he clearly wasn't paying attention: who throws a veto comp when they're on the block? He went in with a clearly outlined womanizing strategy which failed miserably, he set off another BB Weinergate, and he panicked himself right out the door.

Paired with Daniele
Won: nothing
We haven't had a premiere night no-show since BB9 Jacob, and we haven't had a mysterious early exit since BB9 Neil. These pairs twist seasons just seem to complicate things for production. No real word yet on why Dick's gone (and there may never be) but he sure was looking rough in the premiere.

News & updates

Adam has seen the site for his season, some of it at least - he's not pleased with his BBQ Smackdown scores but hey, the Smackdown is not Big Brother. It's a brutal and very difficult competition.. few come out alive.

Apparently there was a problem on the road to the Vegas Bash involving BB12 Andrew, a bus, and several police officers.

Big Brother 14 is confirmed for summer 2012.

The feeds are not over! Try a SuperPass free trial for all the post-finale & post-season interviews, plus you can use Flashback to see anything/everything from BB13 and BB12. A subscription includes $10 worth of free music every month.
